Perfect review boss! Miss my GXSR 1000, but now that I'm older I know I want a more comfortable riding position. Completely agree that no one buys a bike like this to stay under the speed limit all the time. Well done sir.
Great review. Just picked this S3R today. It's so smooth, almost too much. This is my 4th speed triple. My last was a 2013 but I've been on a Panigale 899 the last year so the difference is night and day.
+Daytona Days difficult for the first two weeks because I wasn't used to a sport bike. After that surprisingly easier. It's actually pretty comfy considering, more so than an s1000rr but in many ways more involving and aggressive than the S3. I miss it a lot, but as an all round bike to for the weekend and to commute on the triumph is perfect. The biggest issue for me on the Ducati was the noise. You get used to it but it's just annoying I ashamed to say. That said everyone does hear you coming. If I had the money I'd totally have kept it.
8 years ago , still a great bike, I rode the 1050 RS the other day, what an amazing bike. Still one of my absolute fav bikes, I love the 1050RS more than the new 1200RS. Such a great balanced bike, and those 150hp and around 120NM torque is so much usable on the street than the new 175 hp 1200RS bike. I think the 1050RS is better in the corners too out on twisty roads 🤘 The 2018 1050RS is even better than this 2016 1050R, it is a bit more powerful, a bit lighter, and just a bit better overall and more refined, such a great bike. I urge people to try out the 2018-2020 Speed Triplle 1050RS , you can find them used now for like 8500€, sooo much bike for the money. Quickshifter up and down, cruise control, everything you need!
Yes man hell yeah, what a great masterpiece, all that usable torque available at low revs and throught the rpm range, the whole bike smells of quality and like anything else thats british and newer it will be reliable. Never heard a problem with customer service from triumph either. The only thing is that the price scared me into suzukis hands
Good review, keep them coming. Great to find this channel and someone riding all the roads I know! I'm looking forward to the next gen Speed as they will have to step it up with the 765 now available.
Ha! Thanks man, yeah I'm hoping they're gonna up the 1050, I love the latest one and keep leaning towards getting one, but difficult to commit when an update must be on the horizon!
So sad you had to hack it in on you tube.Watched your stuff so many times. I’ve purchased my 2017 R This summer. What a machine.I wanted the RS.But on the road I feel the R is all I need.👌
Hi bro I ended up going back to the speed, I really missed it, the tuono was great machine but always angry and lumpy at low speeds where as the speed is more friendly and refined, luv the looks of it more too, such great finish. Pic her up on Monday. Can't wait
I really enjoyed this video - great vlog. I have a Street Triple R and an 899 Panigale. When I ride the Street Triple now I wish it had a little more power. I think next time my STR has a service I'll try and take out a new Speed Triple. I'm very intrigued by the ride by wire throttle.
I don't know how it took me this long to stumble upon you. Great stuff and I love that new Speed Triple. I see you're repping my friend, Suburban Delinquent's brake reservoir cover. Good stuff my man.
be interesting to see you compare the speeds main rivals and compare them if you can get your hands on the likes of a z1000, S1000R, MT09 etc great review though man definitely opens your eyes to show that sportsbikes arent the be all and end all. P.S apologies in advance for the serious comment.
Hi brother, I'm trying to install r and g crash protectors, the right engine bolt came loose but the left engine bolt wont budge the biitch , any advice would be appreciated thx bro
Good review DD. I have an STR and am really interested in this bike. On the power of the bike, was that a power wheelie or clutch up? I really want to see a comparo between this and Ducati monster 1200S.
I found the bars to low so it hurt my hands. There's definitely some more poke to it over the old model but not a massive amount. I've got a 2011 non r and really want to get myself a set of forged wheels!
Man, i must be blind, i didnt see this video until today ;-; Anyways, great review m8, starting to warm up and the s**ts off the streets, so riding season is here ;)
+Daytona Days LOL, I just watched a review.... Or else I had to figure that out myself too. I ride a Street Triple R 2014 and so no modes, but pure fun 👍😎.
I pretty sure they're the same wheels for the R & S models, but not sure if they're forged. They look very similar to the previous Speed Triple wheels that aren't forged.
Dubble D absolutely don't get me wrong mate your speed triple is lovely but for me I do prefer the street triple your Daytona is stunning though dude 👌😍
1) You are wrong by saying you would feel the difference of the horsepower. The new Speedy has as many hps as the old Speedys - real 135 hps. Probably the placebo effect. The offical 140 hps are pure marketing. 2) If you wanna say FUCK, say it- don't beep it. We are all adults here. 3) Triumph says, you have all the time 135 hps on the rear wheel, no matter what level of TC you are riding. I have no clue why you felt less hps there. Not possible.
1) it feels faster than my standard 2012 speed triple R 2) I'll bleep what the F**K I like cause it's MY channel 3) I didn't say TC gave you less horsepower, I said it cut in a few times on full throttle. BONUS 4) if the new speed triple is lighter then it will feel faster, so yes it is possible
Xaralambos Psihogios how old is the bike? Shouldn’t be rusted on??? Spray it with a decent amount of WD40 and leave it overnight. Heating it up might work, but be careful as I’m pretty sure the bolts have a nylon thread and you’ll melt it
you talk a little bit shit about the traction control or riding modes :) lol come mate give them a little bit chance they are trying !! ride by wire is an amazing thing, modes are good not that you use them all the time but it will be big help. Traction control interfering that's bull shit :) you have new bike and new tires the traction control is actually saving your ass when you being silly with a new bike and tires! you know its so off putting when someone talks shit about the technology !
I'm actually a fan of the fly by wire system, I think it's a good move by Triumph. It just hasn't been explained to me how to use it properly, so I was getting the hump that I couldn't just twist & go. The traction control was cutting the power though, everytime I hit a bump with the throttle pinned the engine would "drop out" if you will for a split second. Trust me that wasn't "saving my ass" XD
Daytona Days i am thinking of buying , i commute everyday two up , i actually find out that triumph got a quick shifter option for R version. would you say it was smooth as a 4 cylinder? thank you ;)
+Tan Cakar the 2016 R version in the video is unbelievably smooth in my opinion, I think you'd love it as a daily commuter - especially the 2016 R. My 2012 Speed R is my daily commuter and it does everything you need and more!
+Daytona Days i just test ride it. very nice bike how ever i had alittle problem. i currently ride a multistrada 2015, the Speed triple was very smooth but when you decelerating i had slight tingle and vibe in the handle bars also the throttle was very snatchy on and off. did you have anything like it ? or is it just me ? It was my first triple ride ever.
+Tan Cakar I think the multistrada is a different bike really, the Speed is always going to feel more "raw", just cause it's a naked sport. With the throttle being snatchy, I guess you could adjust the throttle since it has the fly by wire, but it felt good for me personally
I've got a triple S they are great bikes to ride and own. They've brought the triumph name into the 21 century big time.
Perfect review boss! Miss my GXSR 1000, but now that I'm older I know I want a more comfortable riding position. Completely agree that no one buys a bike like this to stay under the speed limit all the time. Well done sir.

Thanks! I really want a Panigale! How was it to live with though?
+Daytona Days difficult for the first two weeks because I wasn't used to a sport bike. After that surprisingly easier. It is expensive, but it has such a premium feel to it
Good review, keep them coming. Great to find this channel and someone riding all the roads I know!

Dubble D Did you end up getting the Speed Triple?
Awesome review dude! I definitely need to try one one of these days! And dude you're catching up to me so fast! Good work!
Thanks mate, go chop the Honda in for one!
So sad you had to hack it in on you tube.Watched your stuff so many times.
I’ve purchased my 2017 R This summer.What a machine.I wanted the RS.But on the road I feel the R is all I need.👌
Maybe I’ll make some vids again, just busy with life mate. Be back again at some point
@@DaytonaDays cheers for the reply D,D.
Will look forward to that time.
Keep safe.👍
@@DaytonaDays I’m dying to show you my stead. How Will I be able to send some on you tube 👍
nice review, I'm gonna have to get back on a Speed soon. As you said a few minutes in, they just do everything really well.
Gabriel Byrne thanks man
Hi bro I ended up going back to the speed, I really missed it, the tuono was great machine but always angry and lumpy at low speeds where as the speed is more friendly and refined, luv the looks of it more too, such great finish. Pic her up on Monday. Can't wait
Xaralambos Psihogios nice, glad to hear it 👌🏼
Great review. I can't believe the alloy wheels made such a difference. I wonder if it would be worth the money for my street triple
They make a huge difference! Not sure if they're a viable buy seperately just because they're so expensive!
An 899, my next bike without any doubt... Take a Speed out, personally I'd end up leaving it in sport, but hey ho! Thanks for the watch :)
I don't know how it took me this long to stumble upon you. Great stuff and I love that new Speed Triple. I see you're repping my friend, Suburban Delinquent's brake reservoir cover. Good stuff my man.
Thanks mate, yeah Sub D is quality XD although that sock flew off on the motorway the other day :( got another one on the Daytona though :)
be interesting to see you compare the speeds main rivals and compare them if you can get your hands on the likes of a z1000, S1000R, MT09 etc great review though man definitely opens your eyes to show that sportsbikes arent the be all and end all. P.S apologies in advance for the serious comment.
Where's Geordie and who are you? :D
I should really review my 2012 I guess...
Muhahaha i am the geordie now
Daytona Days why its a pos no need too ;)
Dude I want to ride one so bad!!
Excellent review! Keep up the good work! Love the way you bleep out the swear words!
Ha! Thanks mate
Hi brother, I'm trying to install r and g crash protectors, the right engine bolt came loose but the left engine bolt wont budge the biitch , any advice would be appreciated thx bro
Xaralambos Psihogios got a spanner on the other end of the Torx bolt haven’t you?
Hi brother, just put on some metzler m7rr on my speed r, what's best way to scrub in? Thx
Xaralambos Psihogios find some nice corners, get the up to temperature and LEEEAAANNN
I'm not sold on the look of these, but I can't put my finger on why. I sort of like them and don't at the same time. Looks like a fun ride though
I prefer the looks of it to be honest, but I ain't buying one! There just not THAT much better...
Good review DD. I have an STR and am really interested in this bike. On the power of the bike, was that a power wheelie or clutch up?
I really want to see a comparo between this and Ducati monster 1200S.
Power wheelie in 2nd, I haven't had a go on a monster, but everyone I've spoken say they're more like a tourer than a naked sports
Ok thanks. How does your speedy do two up and touring?
+kmfiz two up its absolutely fine, touring wise, I do roughly 500 miles a week and don't have any complaints
Looks fantastic! Has your 2012 Spd 3 been reliable?
Yeah, hasn't skipped a beat and I'm not exactly "nice" to her
For a stock bike it's looks modded out .... I'll have to test ride a speed one day
love the new speed trips
I also love this bike!
I found the bars to low so it hurt my hands. There's definitely some more poke to it over the old model but not a massive amount. I've got a 2011 non r and really want to get myself a set of forged wheels!
They're awesome mate, they make such a difference!
+Daytona Days yeh OZ make some but there £1600!
Man, i must be blind, i didnt see this video until today ;-; Anyways, great review m8, starting to warm up and the s**ts off the streets, so riding season is here ;)
Wondered where you'd got to! ;)
+Daytona Days Yea, uh, work and school....and really just life :P
Great vid, I need one of these!
you dont have to stationary to change mode. (apart from rider mode). just select the mode u want and dip the clutch. Happy days.
Yeah no one told me at the dealership, everyone has told me! :D
You just have to pull the clutch in to get into the mode you want to 👍.
Yeah someone else pointed it out - I'm a noob!
+Daytona Days LOL, I just watched a review.... Or else I had to figure that out myself too. I ride a Street Triple R 2014 and so no modes, but pure fun 👍😎.
+DaMaX74 the missus has one, they're awesome 👌🏼 probably a vlog down the line somewhere when I'm riding it...
+Daytona Days Yeah that would be great. Curious how you like her (I mean the Striple). Comparing the Street and Speed in handling and agility.
+DaMaX74 I did a Street Triple R review a while back now, although my opinion has probably changed a bit since then
Loved it. Glad to see it has a warp speed function and "who the f buys a bike to obey the law" haha
Best line of the review: "this bike talks to you through your arse"
Woody Wood professional journalist right here 😂👍🏼
you just need to roll off the throttle and pull clutch to change rider mode on the fly.
Does the 2016 R come with forged wheels? Are they lighter than non R wheels?
I pretty sure they're the same wheels for the R & S models, but not sure if they're forged. They look very similar to the previous Speed Triple wheels that aren't forged.
Great bike but the s1000r has got it all and more no?
I haven't tried one, but it's next on the list. The Speed definitely looks better in my humble opinion
Dubble D I'm thinking about trading my S1000R for this Speed Triple R?!....
You need to let off throttle and pull in clutch to change riding mode while riding.
Ah! I see! I just assumed you had to stop, thanks
nice to see you give it a bit of stick! :-)
Be rude not to... ;)
KPH...? Yeah mine shows that as well. ;)
Thx brother will do
Brand new, will do thx
By the way, When are you buying one? :-)
Seen some people suggested using heat toosen
To change modes on the fly pull in clutch close throttle release clutch.
Ryan Gordon I know mate - literally everyone has told me 😂😂😂😂 thanks for watching
Dubble D , great video review anyway, really enjoy watching it. Plan on getting a S model Speed Triple in a couple months. Ride safe
Ryan Gordon thanks buddy, they're a great bike - I'll await the refresh in a years time hopefully and get back on an R 👌🏼
On your video I like how you mentioned that they are the perfect all-arounder, and that's the type of bike I'm looking for.
Ryan Gordon I wish I could of kept mine - it did everything I wanted and more! Most of all it would make me look back at it whilst I'm walking away
Gotta be honest I do prefer the street triple R mate especially the Rx 👌
Adam Stratford see for me they don't have enough punch and feel too small, but if we all liked the same bikes there wouldn't be much to talk about! :D
Dubble D absolutely don't get me wrong mate your speed triple is lovely but for me I do prefer the street triple your Daytona is stunning though dude 👌😍
Adam Stratford thanks man
Might use a breaker bar
I considered a speed triple but couldn't pass up the Z. If you ever get a chance to ride a 2014+ Z1000 you'll be grinning ear to ear.
I've heard they're crazy! I really want a go on one though!
Or maybe bigger rachet for more leverage
pulling clutch confirms mode
Yeah they didn't tell me before I left :(
👍
