All the 4 nations lived in harmony but everything changed when Water Tribes attacked
Only the Avatar can master all four elements and bring balance to the world, but when the world needed her most, Nickelodeon decided to cut the budget for ATLOK and the team couldn't afford to animate her properly.
It's Cris didn’t it do good? Why would they cut the budget
@@itscris1973 the animation looks good though
Honestly the best way to describe this season 💯
meanwhile in an alternate universe
“Kinda like Hitler”
“Nah we got that with Amon”
Me: *looks at camera knowing what happens in season 4*
John McKenzie “ALL HAIL THE GREAT UNITER”
Yeah Amon was more of a Bolshevik than a Nazi.
Amon was a commie.
Coughs in Kurvira
@@saoirsecameron amon=commie, unalaq=televangelist, zaheer=anarchist, kuvira=fascist, assuming we goin by very very rough western analogues
Yeah, Korra was pretty harsh with her father this episode, though having yet another bad revelation on top of the previous bad one was probably not going to help her mood.
Also, just gonna say that the plot with Tenzin and his family was definitely one of my favorite things of this season.
"My feeble turtleduck" One of my favorite lines said from Eska, mainly because it's such an adorable image in my head xD
I think the difference is that she already knew about the involvement of the White Lotus in isolating her away like that, but she didn't know her father or Tenzin were also the ones behind that decision as well. Hence why she gets so mad at them now since it felt like a lie as well as keeping important things from her.
Lalisa T Tenzin should be apologies
The entire Tenzin arc this season gives me THE CHILLS all the time. I can't dislike book 2, there are too many things I love *A LOT* in this book. The layers book 2 adds to bending and the ATLA/LOK world... I'm not sorry for loving book 2 tbh, I can easily ignore Korra's annoying ass for three episodes.
@Theme Fresh to be fair, her whole life was basically watched and served 24/7 ever since Zaheer tried to kidnap her. Its like Toph'a situation, she wants to be free. And was mad that her closest mentors were the reasons behind that decision
Eska is one of my favorite characters in this season
Aubrey Plaza is always fun.
Mine's definitely Varrick and Zhu Li
Book 2 may have been the overall worst season, but it has my two favorite characters (Varrick and Eska) and my two favorite episodes (the two parts of 'Beginnings') in the entire series.
To watch Korra early, do I donate as an Exclusive or Early Normie?
CaptainSpycrab Varrick and Eska are both in book 3 too though. Eska has a conversation with a certain honour obsessed firebender when tracking down a certain notorious criminal with a particular power that had not been seen in a couple of hundred years

@@shubhamshinde2570 For real though. I read this and I was like "that... explains a lot"
While the first season dealt with equality this season, as much as it is at the lower rankings of viewers and fans, deals with ,so to speak, “Church and State”, religion/belief system and secularism.
Unalaq is by all accounts a theocratic leader. He truly has a strong belief in the role of spirits and their place in humanity’s world. Indeed his goal is akin to a holy war. By the end we’ll have explored extremism of beliefs and whether people can preferably only be one or the other (religious/spiritual or secular), or accept a world with secular and religious/spiritual aspects in the livelihoods of people and societies.
Now if only it was better executed. Because I kind of agree, the whole "Dark Avatar" thing later on is stupid, as is how parts of the spirit world handled, but the main conflict, of Unalaq beliefs, and provable spiritual powers, and how he views the spirits, could have all been great.
How? The spirits actually exist, everyone knows they exist.. You're reaching.
Jordanious77 The Avatar world is animistic. Respect and reverence to the spirits and nature are ideal but not a need for all humans. The material world is an altogether different realm for those who live in it. They don’t have religions or faiths, what they have is spirituality and philosophy. The fact remains that one can either pursue spiritual or secular goals in the Avatar world. Them knowing of the spirits doesn’t mean they seek to connect with them. This isn’t about gods, but about beliefs and spiritual needs, which our real world just happen to predominantly use institutions of religions and deities to fill.
Each book has an underlying theme of a Government system
Book 1: Communism
Book 2: Theocracy
Book 3: Anarchy
Book 4: Fascism
Book 5: Memes
love those shirts man, "this is not a kids show" that´s such an iconic phrase of avatar
tarlock is a theologic leader its a commentary on religion and secularism
svgftw *unalaq
Amon: radical communism. Unalaq: Theocentrism
RL (not saying names to avoid spoilers): Anarchism.
Kv: Fascism
Lol no it isn't. Have to love the mental gymnastics of people trying to find depth where it isn't there.
Denial about the bad writing of the show? Yes please do go on explain how trying to bring spirits back or civil war is even remotely comparable to theology lol
He's in denial? The spirits in the show actually exist, of course he is able to strongly believe in them. Irl "spirits" are completely make believe. Unalaq in his character is a scientific, proof based person who would never normally be religious. Simply because people keep using the same redundant language im going to assume you're all sheep just spouting dribble you heard in a video.

Aang was a great kid, but not the greatest dad...
Kevin O'Grady Reminds me of Naruto. Both of then never really had any experiences with dads so they're not really sure how to be one.
+Shonksu your brain is so tiny. it's the only reason you'd be so angry
I reported u shonksu ur mean and rude
Yea. Nobody's perfect, but he's certainly better than most fathers in Avatar. Whatever his faults, Aang was one of the best fathers in Avatar compared to most others.
99thJediWarrior it’s like Naruto
I'm just so happy that they seem to be enjoying the season! Really excited for the upcoming episodes!
I'm loving that you're loving this season
Same!
Agree! :D
Same. People give this season shit that I think is unwarranted a lot of times.
Even though I think this was the worst season of all, there was a lot of great stuff about it. The beginning is better than season 1's.
caezar Offcourse because it's the beginning of the series
I love this season because it made water bending as a whole 100x cooler than in ATLA.
Paully808 I say that Amon made it 100 cooler 😱 that was like waterbending awakened! This season was just a lot of cool waterbending fights 😍
Paully808 omg no. Atla had 100% better waterbending. Katara's bending techniques and raw power had some of the most amazing scenes. (Puppetmaster episode, aang transforming into a fish creating waves, katara stopping the rain, waterbending from sweat, from thin air, tentacle waterbending, bending an entire ship the other way etc etc)
Pt k Nah
Tyron Wells good counter arguement
Paully808 i think the aggresive waterbending style in this season is due to modernization(as well as other bending styles) and not exclusive to southern style.
This episode is so amazing. And this is the weakest part of Korra. Really puts the greatness of this show into perspective.
I think 5-6 are the worst. 3-4 are not as good as this either
The weakest part was the end of Season 1. And this sis still stronger than the wimp battle she had against Kuvira.
Greatness and Korra should never be in the same sentence
KamauAdroitCarter It's not the weakest part of Korra but ok.
I mean, SO amazing? Man, people these days really call anything everything amazing today, don't they? What would you call the season 1 finale or season 3 finale? You already used amazing on this episode, and those are miles better. Along with most episodes in seasons 1 and 3 as a whole.
The actor that voices Asami is somehow hotter than Asami

There's been theories that Korra may be related to Princess Yue
+I Th.
The way Royalty works, is that *any* living relative is eligible to inherit the throne -- and the one closest to the current ruler is the one to actually ascend to said throne -- unless the ruling dynasty is removed through force. So Yue's death didn't necessarily exactly leave the Northern Water Tribe without heirs to the throne; they just wouldn't be from Anook's line. Only if Anook had no living relatives whatsoever at time of his death; or if someone took the Chieftain-ship by force, would Korra not be related to Yue at all.
And I find that to be considerably less likely than the opposite.
I'd be curious as to whether or not Yue's father could have had another child afterward. And even if not, would the new chief be chosen based on being another family member of his, or someone entirely unrelated. Korra could still possibly be a distant relative if nothing else.
@@vindifference that'd be posible if he did have a child again after Yue, since Korra's grandfather In the flashbacks looked younger than 60 something [which the GAang would of been at that point] yet he still looked older than Tenzin and his siblings so he could of been born 1-5 years after the war ended. Had two sons of his own and Korra being born after that.
If that is the case than Yue did not only become the moon spirit and personally knew Avatar Aang but is also a blood ancestor of the new Avatar long after her death. That's a pretty good track record for a person who only appeared for 5 episodes in the Series not counting the moon
@@AhsimNreiziev since the water tribes are based on inuit culture, like most native american cultures, the line of succession would go thru the matrilineal line, so if Yue's Mother had siblings, chieftain-ship would go to one of them or their children.
@@guess6635 no korra grandfather looked 60
"Hopefully a blast from the past.", well good sir this is the best season for you.
Something interesting about the statue Jinora saw light up, is it's clearly older than any of the other statues we've been shown in that room. Not only is it super weathered, it looks like it's made of driftwood, while all the others are stone.
When Suraj said which WAN is she connected to it was just like heheheheheheheheh you'll find out this pun is glorious.
Plz like
Yeah, Korra's being a little too hard on her father, after just hearing the truth about his past. Obviously, there will be some payoff for her bad attitude, but it's still really shitty on her part. Also, I kinda wish that they didn't make Unalaq so transparently evil, because from an outsider's perspective, it makes the characters seem really dumb for not seeing through his BS.
Also, there was a reason for that whole scene with Kya and Bumi not being known as Aang's children. It wasn't just for comedy, it sets up for the deeper look into their family dynamic which will be explored in this season. Speaking of which, Jinora sure was interested in that statue, huh? Trust me, you're going to love what this leads up to!
I. Th. True, both Tonraq AND Tenzin were responsible for tasking the White Lotus with keeping Korra in confinement, and that's definitely a good reason for her to be angry. However, her overall negative behavior is a result of her inflated ego. She feels entitled because she stopped Amon and she now has so much power, which shows because she was already blowing off her airbending training. Hell, she believes that simply being able to airbend is enough, going as far as to accuse Tenzin of holding her back. Even without learning the truth about her father's past and his involvement with her life of isolation, she was already lashing out at people who weren't telling her what she wanted to hear. As a huge fan of the series, I know that this is a necessary step in Korra's continued development, especially after she literally got everything handed to her in the Book 1 finale. Oh, and her apology to her father is one of my favorite moments in Book 2. Her relief that he wasn't involved with the rebels, followed by the realization that she acted really awful towards him, it was such a great scene.
Also, I am aware that Unalaq technically hadn't done anything wrong until the northern forces arrived, but I sniffed him out as a villain immediately upon his debut. Honestly, it would have been better if he were written as a tragic character with good intentions for the Northern and Southern Water Tribes, but was ultimately led astray by Vaatu. However, he's not only almost as bad as Ozai, but he was totally down with releasing Vaatu and plunging the world into darkness.
Oh wow, I never noticed The First Avatar or that spirit there...that's actually pretty cool.
Loving your reactions sooo much! Even this season is gonna be a hype train for you guys I feel like lol (because it totally has amazing moments and episodes)
4:47 i got so excited for whats to come
Ahm😏
Ahem...season 3.... 🙄😏
Trevor Costelloe 😏
A comment like this is so easy to decipher what could happen. Why spoil it for them?
Unalaq can't really "invade" the South, he's already Chief of both the Water Tribes. All he's doing is transferring forces from one pole to the other. I mean it's obviously an aggressive move against the South's autonomy, but from a global perspective it's not really an invasion or anything.
Um, didn't the south declare independence, hence it being the "sister tribe" of the north not just "the other part"
Nope. They were two independent nations during the 100 years war, and for a while after that, but by Legend of Korra times, Unalaq is title "The Great Chief of the Northern and Southern Water Tribes". The South if definitely largely self-ruling, but it's formally part of a united Water Tribe, under Northern rule.
(Well technically by this point in the show, it's not a Civil War yet lol). I was just saying that Unalaq is entirely within his right to do what he's doing, even if he's being a bit of a dick about it. It's not quite the same as Ozai marching into the Earth Kingdom.
No, they become united later in the season, I believe
So if Kim Jun Un decided to send his armies to South Korea because he's the self proclaimed, "ruler of the Korean Peninsula" in his lands he's not doing anything wrong and what he is doing is not an invasion?
Guys, all the statues glow when she's in avitar state.. com'on!
There's a specific couple of episodes in this season that will absolutely blow your minds and I can't wait to see your reactions
A lot of people hate this season (or at least Eska), but casting Aubrey Plaza was a genius, spot on casting :D
Madger Bole Eska as a character was genius, but the way the other characters made light of the way she was abusing Bolin was not cool. Being afraid to leave a relationship because of what your partner might do is a major red flag.
@@saoirsecameron bruh get that stick out of your ass. It was for comedic relief 🙄🤦🏻♀️
@@saoirsecameron fucking nerd
Aubrey Plaza is annoying and overrated too
I don’t think some of the specialty benders are stronger than the Avatar because Aang eventually defeated Tarloks dad
Kris TV Yeah. As Iroh explained in Bitter Work 'it is the combination of all four elements in one person that makes the Avatar so powerful'.
Shitstirrer Nah, there is more obvious reason why Avatar is so strong. Spirit.
Take Bumi, for instance, who is obviously a more powerful earthbender than Aang or Korra, Toph being more skilled than Aang in earth, and Azula obviously being a better Fire bender than Aang and Korra. The Avatars we've seen have tended to be outclassed by certain benders who were more skilled or powerful only outside of the Avatar State which is like having the power of multiple benders in one.
Of course as was said the avatar's typical advantage outside the avatar state is being able to use multiple elements.
depends on what "powerful" means
"Speciality bender" lol
Remember that avatar can bend all 4 elements and thus they also have access to all kind of combine bendings like lava, combustion, grass etc...they only have to train for it. So avatar is always powerful.
OMG. I must've seen Korra 5 times and I always thought the Avatar ### statue was surrounded by elements. I just realized it surrounded by a kite.
streakermaximus very special kite
that is the statue of Neo
He is "The Wan." ;)
Answering Machine practically you’re right
Korra's father was really getting in his own way. Making demands when he should be making suggestions, saying "because I said so" instead of making a convincing argument and keeping important secrets for selfish reasons; It's the same missteps Tenzin was making.
It kinda suck that the only person that knows how to listen and explain stuff to Korra is getting much more suspicious and shady.
I agree. That's why i understand where korra is coming from here. At this moment, Unalaq does seem like the only person who trusts her, which makes her trust him in return. I'm just happy that she was able to fix her relationship with her dad. They work together so well in season 3
Yes, thank you for some Eska and Desna appreciation.
Eska and Desna are hilarious, but seriously it's basically domestic violence from now on ._.
But you wouldn't think that is funny if the genders were reversed?
I love how excited you guys are regarding the northern lights, I live in the northern parts of Sweden so I see them all the time. Never thought of them as anything special, just beautiful lights in the sky that are f*cking impossible to photograph..🙃🙃 besides that I just have to say I love your Avatar reactions, keep up the good work!
You are so lucky !
Fun fact:...the voice actor who is doing tonraq, korra's dad is actor james remar, from of course mortal kombat:annihilation, as rayden🤗
They're gonna love beginnings
Amon was right the bending Aristocracy is too powerful, avatar's uncle is the chief of the Northern tribe. At least Aang was born into one.
Can't wait for you all to find out who that statue was 😍 ya'll are gonna freak
11:26 Ooh, it's in the engine! lol!
Bad feeling about portal shit. "I watch too much supernatural" 😂😂😂
In regards to what you guys were saying about how you dont know if the story is going down some sort of Hilter-esque road like Amon, each season of Korra covers a different political ideology which drives each of the main characters:
Book 1: Communism
Book 2: Theocracy
Book 3: Anarchism
Book 4: Facism
So cool fact I just learned. I was just up in Alaska and went to the museum of the north. I learned that the northern lights and southern lights are connected. Meaning, that they don't just occur at the same time but they are actually mirror images of each other. The particles travel back and forth (north to south and back) along the Earth's magnetic field.
This season is so packed with lure, you’ll get answers to questions you didn’t even know to ask
I live in Norway so i constantly see northern lights when it's winter, we also have the midnight sun here which is like the wierdest thing ever because the sun doesn't go down for about 2 months.
I just purchases 3 comics from avatar called the north and south part 1-3...i have a feeling it's gonna shed some light as to why there is discord between the 2 tribes
nakeisha brown it definitely does.

“That’s the Everstorm” Did Micky just make a Stormlight Archive reference? Dope...
no that's literally what it's called in Korra.
the scene with wan’s statue gives me goosebumps every time
Please...remember this statue
Technically, it was actually a firebender lol...
If Tonraq hadn't been banished then there were chances of Korra been born as Princess of the North. That would make her quite the political power already.
And with Unalaq around (not as chief, more like advisor to Tonraq) she would have learnt a lot more about spirits.
And considering Unalaq was part of the Red Lotus then he might have betrayed the rest of them so he can keep Korra for himself.
Love me some Cozy Four! I'm watching this in the library and am probably going to get kicked out because I can't stop giggling.

and Raava
Ooooh... you guys are in for some treats in a few more episodes.
Love how everything goes back to lost
This episode makes me realize how much they simplified the spirits compared to ATLA.
Ko the Face Stealer, the Owl, the monstrous Panda, the koi fish, and even a talking monkey; they all had more distinctive appearances. They easily could've fit in with Studio Ghibli characters.
In Korra, the spirits just look like generic ghosts.
Guys, you should watch 2 episodes in one day and upload to here. We're about excited your reactions. Also I'm rewatching the whole series with you guys which is awesome 😏 so, keep going!
i cant wait a week for another episode guys
Every now and then Micky just brain sharts hard. Glad he realized we obviously know what the Hundred Year War is, instead of doubling down like when he proclaimed Katara’s mother was alive and that Korra wasn’t actually the Avatar.
Anyone else get an MCU Loki vibe from Unalaq, especially young Unalaq (I mean obviously less interesting because he's "an annoying clean person" and not very fleshed-out, but still, kindred slime vibe)
btw the statue that Jinora found is Raava
and wan
Normies, also from The television series Black Lightning James Remar
I'm so addicted to your reactions hahhaha
I think when she was punching the spirit portal area with fire she was trying to melt the ice so she could touch the portal...idk

Love y’all videos 😊
Can’t wait for episode 7
I just want you guys to remember...she's a teenager.
It's kinda hard for me to see it. I see them all as 20 year olds. How can They work if they're all less then 18?
I believe korra is 16, while Mako is a bit older, say 18, but still a teen allowing him to work. Notice how it's only Mako getting jobs most of the time, and Bolin becomes a mover star at about probably 17, so that's not too odd. Also remember the age of consent in the Northern Water tribe was 16, so who knows what it is in Republic City and other places.
Gamelover254 How the helll do you know that the age onf consent in the northern water tribe was 16?
@@karljonson3287 it was said in atla 16 is the marrying age

Mako and Eska = Andy and April from Parks and Rec (aka also Aubrey Plaza)
5 more episodes my dudes!
I CANT WAIT FOR YOU GUYS TO SEE THE SERIES FINALE 😩 ITS A TEAR JERKER
Nahids kinda right just not fully spirits don't have an element they are pure energy
The unknown statue jinora saw was avatar wan the first avatar and raava behind him
Me and my family were planning to visit Iceland the end of April but chances are very high it won't go through due to the Corona virus, unfortunately.. How the spirits react to what has been done to them and their home, is a great representation about nature fighting back the greed of humans. I love it that they show it like this, that they give Nature a face and show what happens when you attack and exploit the natural world too much like we humans tend to do.
'What did he ruin?' lol Suraj xD Yup, that's Meelo for ya xD Those tny little buggars made me think or Stitch from Disney XD The twins are funny indeed xD
When they talk about the northern lights, I was expecting a Steamed hams joke :(
It's not just Raiden, James Remar is playing Gambi on Black Lightning.
When Jinora was in the statue room, she heard the spirits talking to her. That's is what happens
Did Mickey mention the Everstorm? It's nice to know that one of the Normies is a Brandon Sanderson fan.
I appreciate that you guys wear the element colors when watching avatar.
Sub-Bending
Fire - Lightning
Water - Blood
Earth - Metal
Air - ????????
Don't Know if you watched all the episodes already. If not: SPOILER
Earth has also Lava but air has Flying :)
I already know, but it's just something to look forward to this season.
I. Th.
I know. I only listed the basic sub-bending skills. Astro-prejecting is part of it, but i didnt list it for spoilers.
Laura Grimm 🦄 i dont really count lava because its just molten rock; its still rock, like sand bending is still rock, its really small. Metal has different densities that i assume that earth benders have to adjust to, but you can count it if you want to. Its still cool as shit.
James Remar is on Black Lightning now.
RAAVA!
