    An absolute pleasure to watch part 2. I was once again blown away by the scenery and the engineering required to build such a railway.

    Nice trip, great scenery, hope you got the connection. Totally agree your comments about UK train information - last week we were out and about between Attenborough and Welshpool and 3 of the 5 5 trains had duff information about the train set up - and one train manager that made us walk up the platform because we were standing by the first class carriage! Waiting for XC Customer Service to respond on this!

      Sorry to hear that you were messed about. Sometimes the changes are unavoidable, but it is really difficult for those with reduced mobility, for sure.

    Those maps of where the trains stop are useful
    as long as they don't announce a rearrangement of the Wagenreihungen
    Köln Hbf is famous for that.
    We have to order a Hublift for my partner's wheel chair
    and a DB person to operate it.
    In Köln Hbf it is not unusual to
    change platform and change ends LOL
    I call it the Kölner Übung (Cologne exercise regime)!
    In the UK do they bother?
    I was in Preston and I asked where first class was likely to be.
    The guy said it was fifty fifty which end so you were best off waiting in the middle LOL

    • @JohnnyHooverTravels
      @JohnnyHooverTravels  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I can imagine Köln to be tricky. There's a lot of trains getting re-platformed I have heard from other travellers
      Tbf on the UK, there is often train configuration information on the platform indicator, and i generally find it to be correct (but not always)
      I usually go with the adage "1st class at the London end" - that certainly remains the case on the GWR mainlines.
      Level boarding is really the desire so you and your partner can be far more independent, without the need for further assistance.
      For all their faults, at least those New Generation RailJets do have level boarding, which is a vast improvement for many.
      Best wishes to you and your partner 👍

    Very many thanks Johnny for yet another excellent video! And the presentation of your videos is just getting better and better! Please keep on posting a map of the journey you are about to undertake! I did not need a map for this section of your journey, but I will certainly need one for the run through Slovenia, a country i have never visited!

    • @JohnnyHooverTravels
      @JohnnyHooverTravels  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I have changed my presentation (hopefully for the better) as the channel has grown, but i think the clear route map is important to help give some context for the journey, so i have no plans to change or remove that section.
      Shooting through the glass is definitely improved now i have my lens shade, so the reflections are reduced/ removed.

    Regarding the EC163/164 trains Graz to Zurich, it is magnificent Alpine scenery almost the whole way. But this is one of the few trains in German-speaking Europe where i would advise that a seat reservation is absolutely essential 365-days-a-year and in both classes. I have first hand experience of how busy this train gets!

      @@JohnnyHooverTravelsI am also a pretty frequent EC164 traveller in various parts of the route. There is a change at Selzthal into the 1120 Selzthal - Linz which is a super scenic run notably in its initial stage. A real gem to me is also to take EC164 to Stainach Irdning for the brief connection into R4409 the 1140 Stainach Irdning - Attnang Puchheim via Hallstatt and Bad Ischl. Both are loco hauled trains and sitting on the left initially gives a lovely view through the mountains and the large lake at Hallstadt. Swap sides then to the right through to Attnang Puchheim as the other lake views later on are just stunning. Not that I am biased you understand…..

      Most is dairy farming
      So only crop they do would be corn as feeding stock for cows during winter
