There used to be a little sit-on train that went down the path and around the car park at Kingsbridge Estuary. I wonder if the GWR bench was there in honour of that?

I have now completed the German and Austrian train trip, Garmisch to Innsbruck wins Most Scenic and the ICE 3neo comfortably (in all senses of the word wins Best Train. A ride on a Pendolino was sorely lacking in seat comfort.

You pay only going into Devon from Cornwall on Tamar Bridge and ferry. Free to enter Cornwall.

Pity you missed out a trip via The Rame Peninsular on a 70 bus. This is a gorgeous trip on a double decker along the top of the cliffs at Whitesands Bay. Maybe this could feature in it's own video at a future date as you did not ride it over the Torpoint Ferry either. It makes for a fabulous round trip. Get a 70 from Plymouth over the ferry (very few ferries have buses on them) all the way along a very scenic route to Cremyl (with no doubt stops to explore en route), then return to Plymouth on the passenger ferry from Cramyl

Very bad luck to get stuck with 2 consecutive defective buses in Kingsbridge. Bad on you Stagecoach, especially as that implies the LAST 2 buses back from Dartmouth would be cut. Hope someone persuaded the driver of the last one to Dartmouth to return in service instead of empty.

thats really bad. if you depend on the buses and are delayed by 2 hours it's totally unacceptable. what happens if you are late to work or miss a critical hospital appointment?

These second breakfasts....I think we need a video dedicated to the art of double breakfasting. I have a lot to learn!

I seem to remember there being very few Cornish buses during my childhood holidays. The parents had to do a fair bit of driving, plus we walked miles. Happy days. Excellent again, getting a few ideas for some Summer bus trips. A train from St Austell for me to Plymouth and then try your route. Nice one 👍

Had to come a time when Lady Luck deserted you and fortunately not in the middle of nowhere Quite happy with your plan for onward travel - your challenge, your rules Looking forward to the rest of the trip.

Seaton beach has gotten pebbly since the late 50's, we stayed at a small privately owned holiday camp just off the beach on our summer holidays for a few years, the steps down the cliff were extremely hazardous carrying deck chairs and bucket and spade. Other days spent on day trips to Brixham etc. in Dad's trusty Morris Minor which spent most of its time in the garage at home unless Dad was home on leave. More than one holiday cut short as Dad had received a phone call at reception calling him back or urgently visit the Admiral commanding Plymouth as a flap on somewhere in the world. He always took both number 2's and !'s along with full dress and evening mess/Wardroom uniforms, I spent the trip in the car nursing his sword. Surely a walk in nature is to take in the sights and sounds so ditch the earphones and listen to nature not your favourite playlist, that can be listened to on the bus at a volume low enough for others not to.

all this talk of second breakfast, I think your inner hobbit is showing... we just need you to take this ring to Mordor

This is a lovely series Johnny and a great idea too. It’s a shame you missed out on the 93 from Kingsbridge to Dartmouth. It’s a lovely bus ride, especially on the section alongside Start Bay and Blackpool Sands. Maybe one for another day?

Many small places in Cornwall that begin with Tre, and then there is Downderry that sounds like in Northern Ireland. After Plymouth there is Brixton, no not south London before you got to Kingsbridge but didn't go to Salcombe and finished in Totnes, there is a twin bore rail tunnel for each line nearby Marley Tunnel.

Stagecoach busses are always breaking down.

Johnny, your digestive system must be cast iron - all that 'fast food' - make yourself some sandwiches, get a flask, and save yourself a fortune!

Great video - have been enjoying your Spanish series of videos after discovering your channel with the South West Coast Bus series. I think the metal thing is more of a bottle holder (like a plastic water bottle you get from shops) as opposed to a cup holder. When I go on a Spanish train, as I would like to explore this region, I will test it out! Keep up the great content across the UK and Europe!

Haha, my part of Cornwall 😃 St Austell is my local station and I've done the Fowey bus a few times, then took the ferry to Mevagissey (Summer only) and then a bus back. A cracking circular trip. Loving this series and looking forward to seeing South Devon 👍

That boat was a fair distance from its Port of Registration unless more than one Fleetwood. Not uncommon as changing it can be a palaver when buying a used boat.
