I grew up in a village in rural Quebec, with green grass and yellow grain. Thinking back, it's hard to even conceive of the innocence and carefree nature of my soul at the time. I'm sixty now, by all accounts a success in life, living in a large urban center with every amenity greed could desire but I'd trade it all for that feeling of being six and waking up to a glorious sun over a corn field...
My Mom & Dad loved this song...I was a child listening to Andy back then. I loved all the crooners of that day...they were all so affable and funny...and Truly loved America...Where---has it all gone?
Andy Williams possessed arguably the purest singing voice of any male vocalist who ever lived. Dang. Even his falsetto was as smooth as butter! Simply magnificent. Tragically, music will never be this good (or wholesome/classy) again.

Mom this was the first song i remember you singing to me. When I hear Andy sing this it's not his voice I hear. I only hear yours. And I can feel your warm smile. For all time... the tackiest song or so I thought will connect me to you forever and ever... i love you. Thank you for the gift of music. You gave to me.
this is the closest to "salow and tender" that I can find. I am thinking of covering this, but I cant find a slow drag version. every version has a swing. A march. the singers unlimited is the other version.
I remember this song...I was 3 years old...we always watching this show and my mother always sing this song when I got in bed.. those years were very mellow and slow for me as a child but...I was a happy kid for shure!
One of the most pure and effortless vocals of all time. Andy mare something so hard look so easy. Eonderful guy with an amzing god given talent snd thankful gor it everyday.
I am from Holland and every Sunday I watched his tv show I was about 14 of age, I am now 75 and still I love to listen to his voice and songs and that never will stop
What will remember this December about September . Will we think of prayers being being said for God to rescue us from the turbulent times ahead of us?
Right, the official name is The Netherlands and is use in and by official documents and talks. In not official ways mostly the name Holland is used in Europe, but also in Asian countrys the speak a lot more about Holland then about The Netherlands.
Thus September will be indeed to remember for the whole Earth. Very high probability that Jesus Christ will step back into human affairs, but this time not as a tiny baby or a gentle carpenter turning the other cheek... A mighty judge for this sick world.

That honour goes to Perry Como. You should hear his version of this beautiful song. Better than Andy Williams by a mile.

He was undeniably great but my argument settles with Johnny Mathis !!!###
@@JohnnyNationThe correct answer is Jerry Orbach
