I often think about the long walks I would take when growing up. I had a special place, an old stream that had a car path but was a great place to "park" when I became a teen. There was a really big pike swimming in the stream that no one had ever been able to hook. At the end of the stream right above the river it was dammed up by a lot of old branches that made a swimming hole. I'd stay there for hours just enjoying the quiet and watching the little fish jump. Listening to this beautiful song in 2023 .. In a world gone completely mad ..!! When nations turn their back on God ...all HELL BREAKS LOOSE . No God NO peace !! Know God ..know PEACE !!
"Try to Remember" back when singers actually used to listen to each other with great intonation, to make beautiful harmonies AND ACOUSTICALLLY with no electronics except for microphones that amplify what each one is doing, instead of just having to resort to screaming into it ? The song takes on new meaning now in 2020,, Doesn't it ?! And the Fantastics---Yes, back when people used their IMAGINATION to enjoy different scenarios and didn't have to wait to be told how to think?
I think you're right there. But also, call me ignorant, but I prefer to think about things in a more positive light. There is a lot of garbage being created by singers and bands nowadays, that I will never deny, but try to remember that there is a lot of people who agree with you, including musicians. Something I LOVE about TH-cam is that it allows the creativity of people to flow. There're beautiful covers like this, and there are so many musicians that I think you would enjoy. But your points remain valid. I think it's important to not get stuck in the past and go searching for what you want, in a time that is not the same as it once was. Call it evolution, or advancing, some things get left behind and some things get pushed aside, but they are still there. The trends change, but if you look hard enough, you might be surprised. Excuse my philosophical rant, haha.
I used to sing this song with my mother when I was a child in the 1970s. Now I'm 58, but still sing this. My grandson knows this song coz he hears me singing this
Have been listening since 1968 ( 73 now) our whole family adored these songs. How sad a younger generation will never appreciate music without sex violence etc..just LOVE
Oct.16 2021 just played this beautiful and timeless classic for my 100 year old mum, it made us feel young again, thank you brothers four for the priceless memories!
Time is such a mysterious thing. Here is a song about remembering. And hearing it almost takes me back to a time that was so long ago but feels like yesterday.
My dear husband and I saw the show many years ago on Broadway. We fell in love in NYC. Now that I am alone, I have the musical memories to keep our love alive.
Today is September 24th, my birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better present! Thank you Brothers Four for this beautiful song of my youth. Simply exquisite!❤
A classic for the ages. Why don't we hear more of these timeless pieces in popular culture. Is artistic beauty something our modern society no longer actively cherishes and left only to those who can experience it through our memories?
I love it when 'old' musicians are still performing now, and it comes across with a whole new feeling, & emotions!!!!... It creates a whole new level of respect, and love, for what people feel dear to them from the past, & into our future!!! xoxox
@@linsqopiring6816 Absolutely.... Today there is not the 'meanings' of Words, that is what it's all about... Am so glad you understand & feel that... xox
Maybe the sad thing is they DO right in this way, and the "geniuses" who decide what will get air play don't play them. So, IMO, across our nation and the world, these sort of songs "will not sell", or so the geniuses have decided. But then someone like say loreena mckennitt comes along and decided she "doesn't buy it" (that the geniuses in he big studios run the world) and she goes out, sells her self made songs, at festivals, small events and so forth until the geniuses decide to "give it a chance". So it still happens, I am glad to report.
I’m 72. The Brothers 4 were one of my late older sister’s faves. This song gives me such a feeling of nostalgia as I remember looking out the window of the family home and seeing the grass and trees slowly starting to change colors, and, of course, remembering it was time to go back to school for the year.
My two dogs know this tune well, as we walk half an hour in the woods twice a day, and they hear this on harmonica often. My mom sang this often, sixty years ago, and later, as my sisters and I grew up. I just ran across this by "accident", thanks!
I remember this song as a kid. This and Moon River really got to me because of the almost haunting melody. I guess I felt a beautiful song even as a small boy. I've been playing the guitar and music for over fifty years now. The great ones still get to me!
Thank you so much, Brothers Four, for enriching our lives with your tender rendition of Try to Remember. Its simple beauty brings tears to my eyes.
@@BakaTaco well put
I used to sing this song with my mother when I was a child in the 1970s. Now I'm 58, but still sing this. My grandson knows this song coz he hears me singing this
September 2024 I am not trying and I’m still remember The song.🌸🇸🇪
I love this song. It's sad and uplifting at the same time.
Mom used to sing this to us kids...God, how I miss her!

I
My dear husband and I saw the show many years ago on Broadway. We fell in love in NYC. Now that I am alone, I have the musical memories to keep our love alive.
I grew up with this music and still prefer songs with a message over songs with a 'beat'
Only calm peaceful loving people can sing like this
October 2024 and hearing this beautiful song. It was popular in the sixties (high school and nursing school years).
It sounds like we are the same age. The Brothers Four continue to sing this song and I continue to be moved by it.
Came to my college in 1967. Great Concert!
I remember without even trying. Fall of 1964 and I was starting high school. What a great song!
A beautiful song from when music meant something and artists were not weirdos with crazy haircuts and bizarre antics!
Great harmony and crystal clear voices. I have always loved their music.
Viejos tiempos que no volveran. Yo tenía 11 años. Ahora 67. Música como esta, de Caravana, me sigue manteniendo viva.
December 2024 and still listening to one of my favorite song. I’ll be 73 in September ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🇵🇭🇺🇸👏
That's great. I will be 78 in March - still loving to sing that beautiful song...
何度も聞いて感激した曲です、私が50年前に初めて聞いた曲です、懐かしさを感じました
2021. Their voices make my heart feeling so comfy
Remind me of my high school days ^^^almost 50years passed with memory thanks!

Today is September 24th, my birthday. I couldn't have asked for a better present! Thank you Brothers Four for this beautiful song of my youth. Simply exquisite!❤
Happy Birthday friend. I am 71 and it seems like yesterday I first head this. I was a different kind of kid.
Happy Birthday! 9/24/24
A classic for the ages. Why don't we hear more of these timeless pieces in popular culture. Is artistic beauty something our modern society no longer actively cherishes and left only to those who can experience it through our memories?
November 6,2024 still listening this amazing music of the Brother's 4.great.
Aged 77 Just found on tube …….. it’s so beautiful to listen and bring back memories from years ago .
Thank you for stopping by and taking the time to listen and to comment.
I love it when 'old' musicians are still performing now, and it comes across with a whole new feeling, & emotions!!!!...
It creates a whole new level of respect, and love, for what people feel dear to them from the past, & into our future!!! xoxox
These ones seem to age like a fine wine.
@@linsqopiring6816 Absolutely.... Today there is not the 'meanings' of Words, that is
what it's all about... Am so glad you understand & feel that... xox
If only they wrote them like this today, maybe the world would be a wonderful place. Thank you
Yes it would.
There are still your folk singers. Times are so much harsher now. So, much hate in the world, so unfortunate.
@@KsAdventures All the more reason for musicians, artists, poets to try to bridge the divisions.
Now 76... ( 2023 ) still love this song.
beautiful songs! Love the brothers four
Beautiful song sung by a great group. Thank you so much for posting this.
The best version. It makes people cry when listening to it and at the same time thinking of the past.
This was My Mam and Dad's song. There last holiday together was in September. When my Father died, I song this for my Mam when she was sad..
Prayers for you, your family and all who love you and care for you!

Oh, Mary, that was beautiful. And I'm sure that somewhere he was hearing and appreciating it. All the best.
82 years old here and still love this.
November 2024! From Croatia !❤
Great harmonies. Great memories. Wonderful music. One of the best groups ever.
What a beautiful song and a fantastic group of men. This song is all about love and taking care of one another. The way life was meant to be.
My two dogs know this tune well, as we walk half an hour in the woods twice a day, and they hear this on harmonica often. My mom sang this often, sixty years ago, and later, as my sisters and I grew up. I just ran across this by "accident", thanks!
Very good.
This is October 11 2023 and I listening and enjoying it!!!!
One of the BEST SONG ever written, in my opinion, along with Sunrise, Sunset
The Brothers Four was my favourite singing group. Nice to see them again.
I remember this song as a kid. This and Moon River really got to me because of the almost haunting melody. I guess I felt a beautiful song even as a small boy. I've been playing the guitar and music for over fifty years now. The great ones still get to me!
Me, too. You’re heart sings among a throng of dreamers.
The great ones always will get to you -- each time you hear them. That's what makes them classic.
Listening in June 2024. Best time of my young life. 초혼에서 듣던 때를 생각합니다. 지금은 가고 없는 친구와 함께..
Such a beautiful song. Maybe life is so bad after all!
Thank you for stopping by, for watching, and for taking the time to comment. I think you might mean NOT so bad after all.
Thank you so much, Brothers Four, for enriching our lives with your tender rendition of Try to Remember. Its simple beauty brings tears to my eyes. It's hard to believe this song was #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 three times in 1965 by different recording artists! It's a testament to the musical/vocal talents that allow us to enjoy it so very much for so long!❤️
Who were the other two?
@@nealbaker7991 Ed Ames and Roger Williams, but the recordings only made the Top 100, not #1.
I am deep in December and I remember.
God made the 60'sSo many do not understand what it is to "Feel" the 60'sThey were good and bad but I AM SO GLAD I lived them,I shall die but I shall be remembered, Thank You!
Yes. I shall remember, too. Thank you...1/6/46
