This guy must be a top notch public speaker. This video was too perfect for anything else to b true. Concise, Very informative, answered more questions than I thought to ask, and didn't leave me with any unanswered questions. Bravo 👏🎉
Man I love how you explained what each post does in the relay. This is the most useful type of info when a guy is trouble shooting and needs to isolate components. Bravo, sir!
That was a great video it helps alot when you explain step by step. It makes it easier to understand and a faster way to just go ahead and just get job done faster. Thank you
Excellent information, well presented and to the point. The only thing to add would be that you can test the relays with a Digital Multimeter and a 9V battery.
I have a 2012 Kia Sorento that has no crank/start after replacing the battery and I can get the starter to turn over jumping the relay but I have no power from ignition fuse from the fuse box inside the car. I've tried a new lock cylinder and ignition switch and still no luck, I'm going to try a new neutral safety switch next.
I have a 2011 Kia Sedona and I’m having some issues I purchased it from a gentleman that helped finance and he repossessed it they did not have the original key they made one key for the door and one for the ignition for the problem having is the headlights turn signals door locks don’t like And when she’ll wipers are going haywire need help desperately purchased multifunction switch/turn signal Windshield wiper washer Still having the same problem not going through this also you mentioned that the 7.5 number three fuse is ignition to Hughes on Sedona well even though it only gets power when the cars being cranked and still doesn’t light up and if you did not know I actually put another fuse in there same result no light/fire
So can i ask you this my 2011 kia just klicks when trying to start it i replaced the starter checked fuses and relays i charged the battery went to start it it just klicked . Im puzzled why
Hey i have a 2011 kia sorento and i was wayching your video tryin to figure out why mine wont start. My negative terminal clamp was bad I changed that but it had a wire plugged in the side of the clamp called a smart battery sensor could a bad sensor cause the kia not to start? Sorry but so far nonone seen something like that on the clamp before and the new one doesnt have any wjere for the wire to be plugged into
I have a question my push button wont start my kia but if i leave it in on the position i can cross the two on the number 1 starter relay and it will start so what could that be caused from?
My wife’s friend has a 2012 Kia Sorento, it only starts when the key is in the console slot, batteries have been changed in both remotes, new battery in car, any ideas, thanks have a nice day.
Where is the starter in 2012 Kia Sorento ex specifically and can a fuse be blown but still have power like lights….been having a problem starting and today all I get is a click😮
Hey! Do you know why it won't start but when we checked with the computer it said there were no problems. We were told It could be the Fuel crush sensor but we can't find it
Great video. Now i know more a out fuses. I change out my starter since its not cranking, well a few clicks then nothing. The new starter is installed yet im not getting the cranking action so the next step is either have the battery rechecked even though it’s less than a year old then change out the fuse if needed. We got it cranking twice with repeated push on the start button. I also had it running on idle for 30 mins in case the battery needed charge. I shut it off and turned it back on and it worked but having it sit for 30 mins it didnt start again. Any advice? Thanks
Working on a 2012 Sorento that is a no crank, no start. It does not have the burglar relay. The 7.5 amp fuse and 40amp fuse are both fine. I tried jumping the other relay but it does nothing. Any other troubleshooting advice?
Hello my name is Harry I have a 2020 Kia Sportage showtimes my car start and sometimes it won't I hear clicking when my car don't start sometimes I brought my car brand new what can I possibly be
Thanks for the great instructional! I have a 2011 Sorento 2.4 that won't start. I checked gas and tried jumping, no luck. I checked fuses as you suggested and when I tried to jump the starter relay just got little sparks. I then tried the jumper cables again and when connected I tried to jump the starter relay again - this time the motor turned but would not catch. The key fob was on drivers seat. I am guessing the starter is okay since it turned. I am not sure what killed the battery so quickly or why it won't jump start. Any suggestions would be great!
I can close this one out. In the case of my 2011 Sorento, there are 3 relays, I originally only tested two. the 3rd was dead, when I replaced it - everything worked. I suspect it is the relay that detects the key, so even when I was jumping the starter and the starter turned, it wasn't catching because no key was detected. It could also have been the drain on the battery! thanks again for the great instructions.
i got some intermitant ignition problem, not my battery and my battery on my key is new also, sometime i hear click then nothing, im playing with button and start button and after a few try it start, do you got some advices?
Same issue. But mine is a manual. Already bypassed clutch safety switch.. still does it. I am as we speak installing a new starter relay.. from kia. I am going to clean all the terminals on the starter.. Also thinking about taking out my ignition cylinder and cleaning it out with some contact cleaner. Let yall know how it goes. Cheers 🍻
@@benhajdu4040 I am having intermittent starts also. Usually the issue happens first thing in the morning (after sitting all night). But after the first start of the day (just keep hitting the button until it starts) then the car starts perfectly all day. Tempted to try some of the video suggestions. Any other thoughts from people with similar issues? Did cleaning the terminals on the starter help? If so -- how is this done as I believe the starter is difficult to get to on my 2014 Sorento.
@bobbyteta7908 pretty difficult without a hoist, but possible. Easier from the bottom of the car. Still very difficult. I found it was easier to remove the starter from its resting location to remove the terminals and clean them. That being said. The starter signal wire is EXTREMELY fragile. Makes sense considering it is plastic and sits next to the block. So. My advice? Don't touch the starter. Leave that as last resort. Order the relay from kia. It was inexpensive. I took the starter relay apart on mine and sure as shit, the contacts were extremely dirty and corroded.
I'm going through this as we speak it just happened Sunday September the 18th I purchased the truck July the 15th 2022 I paid cash for it so the warranty was only for 30 days and I have exceeded that time of course I am having an issue with the truck not starting with no power at all no horn no power locks no interior lights the car is dead or truck should I say is this where I should start because I purchase a warranty after the fact of getting the car it doesn't kick in until next week so they are calling the issue a premature issue and they won't cover it I'm at my wit's end with this whole situation what should I do?
Is the burglar relay normally open or normally closed? I don’t think I hear it clicking when trying to start the car, but I do hear the starter 1 relay.
Normally Open. The relays are in series ... the Burgler relay provides power to Start Relay 1, which supplies power to the starter solenoid, which supplies power to the starter.
Hola ... Tengo un problema con la Kia Sorento ... La fusilera que muestra en el vídeo se partió y los cables están desordenados ... Será posible un vídeo guía o tutorial para conectar cada cable con su relé y fusible correspondiente... Desde ya muchas gracias
You may be able to help me, my driver side turn signal is blinking fast. I put new lights in the front and back and wanted to know if you can help. I thought about the fuse but not sure which place to swap?

Thanks for the video. I figured it was a Relay but I didn’t know how to jump it like that I was afraid to just try it on my own. I appreciate it.

I would definitely check the battery and also the output of the alternator. Other possibilities include a loose or bad connection somewhere.

Either signal, power, or ground is missing from your starter.. wire broke or bad connection.

How do you remove that long skinny black one with the two bolts and the one wire to it?
Is this check method also apliable for Kia Sorento 2008?
