In this part, we reach the Formidable Oak at last. Our search for Olimar is over almost immediately, but a new threat emerges, forcing us to carry Olimar back to safety through one of the most perilous paths in Pikmin history.

Let’s be honest; we all hated this boss at one point.
At one point? From the moment that it started chasing me, every single second that I was interacting with the Plasm Wraith made me filled with ANGER and HATRED

this will forever be my fav ending to a pikmin game. pikmin 4 was cool and i liked the last cave, but trying to keep olimar away from the plasm wraith while also trying to find a way out was so fun. it genuinely stressed me out and i felt like the giant dog wasn't as much of a threat. i beat it my first time and for the plasm wraith it took a while
No matter if im playing, the Chase song is always Stressful.

After beating the plasm wraith I had a nightmare that it was following me wherever i went, with this creepy music playing the whole time! I was teleporting to different places, including my room, like a fast travel system in a video game trying to get somewhere safe but every time it would reappear and the music would kick in again. I remember crawling through my landing and looking up to see the wraith crawling along the ceiling after me! 😭😨

This is SO difficult even when using this amazing guide!! I'm currently playing the deluxe and I promise you the monster is much faster this time around. I really have to pay attention 😭

This guy is an absolute Pro at pikmin games. He is just so good and gives helpful tips.
The Formidable Oak wasn't used to being my favorite.
But now it is! It is such as like the Submerged Castle. Because. The Plasm Wraith reminds me of the Water Wraith when you make the Water Wraith appear in the Castle... As it chases you around... Unfortunately, the only thing is that the Plasm Wraith chases you by FORCE and only the Water Wraith chases you by a Time Limit. I also love the singing from the Pikmin when you take too long to enter.
I'm so glad they kept going with the waterwraith. This is by far one of the coolest things I've seen out of this game series.

Sad it didnt make a return in pikmin 4 but the new final boss is sick! I think it can even take on the plasm wraith no problem

They are more than likely just assimilated by it, as they still release souls when killed.
I DIDN'T REALIZE YOU COULD END YOUR DAY MIDWAY AND THEN GO BACK??? I've been pushing so hard to try to make my way through this stupid tree all in one go, I've had to restart god knows how many times because even after realizing I should keep the squads separate and make Britany run in a circle I still get caught up or mess up a bunch, hoping to beat this level soon because I'm so over it, everything else before this has been so easy and this is a pain in the butt, the farthest I've made it in one day is past the second spider after the bridge in the mushroom room and I only stopped because it ate my pink pikmen and I didn't realize because I was controlling Britany while they were moving

Fun fact: The goolix from pikmin 1, the waterwraith, and the plasm wraith are all the same species, they are based of a mythological creature known as the Umibozu, the creature that captured captains in the sea. Here we know that Olimar is a captain, and the goolix from pikmin 1 we know would specifically follow Olimar, pikmin 2 the water wraith tried to claim Olimar as well pikmin 3, the plasm wraith. So this entire time Olimar was being stalked by

Yes the Plasma Wraith and the Water Wraith are based on the Umi bozu, but it's never been confirmed they're the same species, let alone the goolix who doesn't really have any umibozu connections.
Tbh, i never really beat the final boss of pikmin 3 because i was too much of a chicken to do the chasing bit

Meeeeeh the chase part was the easiest for me I just went in circles with one character and did the work with the rest of them soooooooooooo pretty easy
I was never really the "strategy" type so I never finished that part
I bought Pikmin 3 when it came out. Never beat it because i was very young and the music freaked me out

I assumed if you did not get Olimar to the drake before days end it would be game over. I've made it all the way to the room with the lights but then I got trapped in there and didn't have enough of the flying ones to open up the trap doors...hopefully I can finish this level now before pulling all my hair out 🤣. Here from P3 Deluxe. This boss is some bullshit lmao, though it's good to know you don't have to do it all in one day. I think I'll give the exploit a try too to make running around this dump less stressful
this is the scariest part of the game. i doubt anything is scarier in the pikmin trilogy

You're a lifesaver, I lost sooo many pikmin in that cave because that golden slimy thing kept on grabbing me (had no idea that you could distract it) and I felt like giving up (spent my time collecting fruit in other levels instead), but now I feel like I can try it myself again.

Did you know in the second room, keeping Olimar in the water will prevent the Mysterious Lifeform from getting him, which buys you some time. It still makes loops around the room and is waiting for Brittany to grab him out
Yeah but not the other captain you play as it will get the captain you are playing as.
Hawelo92, there is actually a way for the plasm wraith to target you, in Chuggaconroy's let's play, he put Olimar in the water of the second area, the wraith can't go in the water, if you make it so it can't get to Olimar, it will target the captain your controlling

You can free olimar from the wraith
Formidable Oak is Wistful Wild. The Tower is where Dream Den was, the Plasm Wraith is where the Bzzt-Rocket landed, and so on.
There is a glitch that lets you enter the oak from the back way but it's hard to do but it work

I use blue Pikmin when carrying Olimar, because up ahead in the oak, there are water sections where Brittany can hide with the Pikmin. The Mysterious Life-Form can't go in the water.

In pikmin 3 deluxe ultra spicy mode it would have been even worse if the plasm wrath AI was much smarter and he’s actually faster so u could get corned and it would add some difficulty to this section

Duskool Before you find the life form you can use some captins to get in the cave with the pikmin then you can do all of the stuff and then get Britney and leave with no problem but the real final fight

I was really bad at this game when I was 8 but somehow I beat the game but sadly got the bad ending I'm hyped for the remastered and the new pikmin (4) to be out so I can replay it and not have a pikmin extinction almost every day.

Anyone else realize that if the flying Pikmin carrying Olimar would of just flew don’t the tree they would of been fine? (I know that the captains would still have to go through the tree with the rest of the Pikmin but at least they wouldn’t have to worry about Olimar)

I don't think anything happens on Day 30, you can keep going all the way to Day 99 with all the fruits.

@Hawlo 6:47 I tried this trick to have Brittany go in the loop over again but the blob now changes directions and I keep getting trapped. Do you know how to prevent it from turning around?
I think something like that also happened to me when I was first trying to use the trick. If I'm right, the problem is that you're moving too far ahead of the wraith, giving it a new, faster way to reach Brittany. The trick is to wait until it's about to get to her before moving her again.

The obvious choice would be the final battle area, I can't think of anything else inside that'd work well.

Can you get all thes in post game?
There's not really a post-game, the game ends when you beat the boss. You can go back to the day before and get anything you might've missed, then finish the game again.
