I just tonight set it up but I have a bunch of connected devices that need to be reconfigured..Something has gone wrong.
did you restart all those devices? did you change the wifi password? are the wifi settings the same? is everything talking to the right 2.4g or 5g wifi? did you call the cable company and tell them you have a new unit so they can set up your account to talk properly with everything

they showed up and tested outside. they wanted to install their own modem. I would not let him inside... i have an old PC... the speed on it is low.. all other computers are way up there. for some reason this old comp will not go above a certain speed..

Did you need to call spectrum to associate the modem to your account?
yes... I call every time I make a change like this... they can see the modem and push updates of software or make sure it is talking properly plus they update their records...

this is only a cable modem.. i have a router plugged in

a cable modem only brings you internet. a router splits the internet signal. a WIFI router splits the signal and gives you wifi. a cable modem with built in wifi router gives you everything

Yes if you want to plug more than one device into your network. What you have to do is call your cable service, Xfinity does this and so does WOW!. You provide them with the MAC address of the device. That allows it to get through their gateway
After they have your info, make sure if you rent a box from them, they remove it from your account and you can drop it off at one of their stores or have them send you a box and shipping label.
I would log into your cable modem, put it in BRIDGE MODE. No need to explain it, it's best to be in bridge mode since all it's doing is giving you a connection to the internet. You want your router device to provide your IP addresses to all your equipment. For me, I'm using a ASUS GT-5300 which is my GATEWAY to the rest of my network devices which have about 30+ devices using wired and wireless connections. I just ordered one of these since I'm dropping some services from WOW and they will start charging me for my current cable/telephone modem. I have 500/50 service from WOW! so this modem will work just fine. My router also has link aggregation so that will give me max throughput and bandwidth when used. Good luck.
I honestly thought you were connected directly to the modem....................you'll never get the full speeds when you're on wifi. At best is 80%, especially from that old rig you have. I have 1gig down/35mp up and never get that speed via wifi. Connected directly with my pc I do but no wifi. Try directly and see what happens, especially if your uploading high-quality videos. was interested in the modem, have the one the ISP provided and will upgrade to wifi 6 mesh network with the netgear from costco. have the goold mesh but its wifi 5
my old and new pc --- new downloads 235mb upload 11mb
the old pc download 80mb upload 11mb... nothing will fix the old pc... new pcs direct do very good... i rarely use wifi for anything here

It can use both ethernet ports for 2gb using link aggregation.
Get a CAT 7 cable
i just put in cat6 cables one pc i get 235mb the other i get 80--- old pc
The modem only has 1 Gbps Ports, anything from Cat 5 upwards will get you the same results.
