I’ve had this router for like 6 years and it’s working pretty well. I get great numbers wired but about half to a third wireless. My suggestion if your buying something now is to get something with WiFi 6. This router uses the older WiFi 5 technology.

This modem is a reliable device but if you wanna squeeze the most out of it id suggest playing around with some settings like your wifi channel, i just changed my DNS server from my ISP to cloudflare's IPv4 1.1.1.1 and their IPv6 DNS resolver and my ping averages 9ms and that's great for online multiplayer lol

Despite being a device that is fairly old. It still was a worthy upgrade for my 1600s/ft house.
My plan is 200mbs and I get that on a solid connection. But my wifi achieves 100/180 even when I have 4 smart TVs, 4 phones and 3 laptops connected. I didn't even think that was physically possible.
In fact I know it's not. What gives?

Wifi comes with this modem router combo. I think all modems are cable type , but you can talk with someone from a internet company like Xfinity Comcast, AT&T, Verizon. Most likely, a internet company may have to come to your location to run a cable setup before you can connect a modem like this, and there will be a cost involved. Some companies your data speed may not be as fast, so shop around beford you choose one.
