Today we went on a monster crab tour of Colombo, Sri Lanka, starting it all off at one of the most iconic restaurants in Sri Lanka, Ministry of Crab. Ministry of Crab is known worldwide for having incredible Sri Lankan food and for bringing the Sri Lankan lagoon crab home to Sri Lanka. No crab tour in Colombo can be complete without making a visit to Ministry of Crab for their flavourful and delicious crab.
We continued our monster crab tour in Colombo, Sri Lanka at Culture Colombo for their Negombo Crab curry, super tasty, flavourful and made with local Sri Lankan flavours. The Sri Lankan food here was amazing. Colombo is home to some of the best street food in Sri Lanka, and also some f the best crab in the world.
Next on our monster crab tour of Colombo was to Totally Hooked for their epic crab and lobster. This monster crab was huge and cooked up fresh, along with a monster sized spiny lobster. Crab is such a popular food in Sri Lanka, truly one of the best street foods to eat in Colombo.
Last stop was to try a monster crab along the beach in a local sauce made of Sri Lankan flavours. By the end of the day, we tasted over 4 KG of crab on this monster crab tour of Sri Lanka!

I do the exact same thing but only if its amaising. Its more surprise than anything. One i invented was pizza hutt piza dipped in crunchy batter deepfried; then dipped in bhunna chicken curry. You definitely go to hell for eating something sooo sooo wrong! Yet soo soo good.
Srilanka is one and only best seafood heaven in the world 🌍.. Amazing heaven.. Beautiful beaches, Super cooling mountains, waterfalls,wildlife ( Elephants, leopards 🐆 ect) WooW

It's been a great reminder for me to "keep calm and crab/lobster on" throughout this episode. Well, until Chris pops out with a "hair" net on. Ahahahah! 😂
Sri Lankan crabs flexing their aesthetics and flavors are awesome to experience. Just wow. I really appreciate it that you guys were able to highlight the places you went to and that each dish came out very distinctly beautiful and flavorsome.
I was able to learn something more about spices like cloves, cinnamon, and cardamom. I can try out some ideas to improve and add to the local crab and seafood dishes I already am able to prepare. ✨️🧡

Hey Cris! Haha we found it funny that Chris had to wear a 'hair' net as well 🤣 Definitely added to the experience. The crab game here in Sri Lanka is on point. The size of the crabs and the spices and flavours used for cooking was incredible to experience, we've never had seafood quite like it before. Glad it has given you some ideas of spices to add to your seafood dishes that you already make. We hope they come out tasty 😋

Fun fact: the green leaves you see in the curry are Moringa leaves, very rich in nutrition and antioxidants

Oooo that's a tough call because they both tasted so different! The sauces were each really unique. We can never get enough of a creamy curry sauce, but the proper dashi was something we hadn't quite tasted before.

Yes you're right. Crabs that large are definitely up there in price!
How much for it? Per kg. Not cheap ya. 190 usd is like more than our lobster price.

Honestly, totally personal preference. Crab meat like that is sooooo good because the claws are huge. Lobster is always delish in itself😋 if you're asking though, we might have to go crab for Steph and lobster for Chris😉
