Hello there, hungry two! 😊 (Not hungry four 😅😊) The dishes in this episode seems close to southeast Asian cuisine, especially with ingredients like rice coconut, swamp cabbage, (unripe jackfruit), and eggplants to name a few. The mix of tomatoes, onions, and green chillies are sort of common PH household "side dish" to fried/grilled grilled fish and meat. I also grew up eating my share of fried eggplants before deciding I like them better roasted. I am very interested in the ginger beer. Cris, we agree there were a few similarities in the cuisine here in Galle to SEAsian. The curries with coconut milk were delish, actually all the curries were just so flavourful and tasty. Even without chili powder or flakes, the addition of sugar and tamarind pulp is enough to give it that dark caramel color.(trust me, I've made it many a time). I think, as with most touristy places, they change the recipe to suit foreinge palates, and still use the original name.@@lance202520
