I know this is an old video but I'm glad 98 made the list. My gosh that was a horrible experience. Trying to get those cars to handle round the corners was one of the hardest challenges I've ever faced.
Wii was unreal, but very fun to play. Also the car set up and engineer felt very real. I would build a set up and engineer gave me feedback that I exagerated on suspension. I went to the pit, fix it and was a sec faster. It felt nice to play and easy to master.

Real Racing 3. Sure, its primary focus is on street cars with a few Ferrari F1 cars thrown in, and the driving itself isn't horrible, but the pains and lengths you have to go through to actually get a 1995 car and keep it running for more than 2 consecutive races is heinous.
I agree, if you don't wanna pay the micro-transactions then there is so much grinding in that game; it's ridiculous, even the special events you have to upgrade constantly to actually get anywhere. I actually really enjoy the driving for a mobile game, but if you want to get anywhere you literally have to do so much repetition. And if you have an older phone like an iPhone 4 then you may as well not bother; infact I think it's probably way better on an iPad than a phone where some challenges are just nigh on impossible.
F1 2009 is one of my favourites. I did so many races on that game. Epic battles vs. my Dad at Monza. And we had the wheels that the controller fits in to, so for those of us who can't afford Thrustmasters or whatever it was pretty good.
You haven't played F1 2011 for the 3DS then. That's a hidden gem of bad F1 games. You could even use the DRS and kers permanently and since there was no physics, you had no understeer nor penalties for corner cutting. You can literally do a 0.50.000 lap in Spa (It was made by the same studio as F1 2007. Let that sink in)
Sega genesis had a f1 game....I loved it in how you signed with teams and had pressure on your back to perform else you'd be sacked....if you did well you moved up to better cars and teams...but oh god it was hard to control, very stiff and that ruined it for me....this has to be god..30 years ago now...

I played f1 2012 and in the totorial one of the rear tires gets punctured on purpose then it tells u to rewind and the rewind doesn't even work or exist!(Unless the disc is scratched but it is always in the case)

The safety car and the red flag had still not been introduced to this game (as far as I am concerned), the speaker was insane (you are coming always closer to.... BUTTON!!!!)- and then this physics and unfair penalties: When I let a driver go by the blue flag, I heard the message: "You should have moved away. The FIA gives you a ten place penalty". WHAT?
If you're talking old school games, "Nigel Mansell's World Championship Racing" (1992) was terrible in comparison to Microprose Grand Prix released the same year. It was barely an improvement over Pitstop II, released in 1984. Domark F1 (1993) was also pretty bad.
I don't know if you know Johnny Herbert's GP 1998. The physics were not bad, but the difficulty was stupid. The AI defended so aggressively that they would collide with you from the side. Also, while there was an option to drive with fuel and have to refuel, the AI didn't need to refuel at all.

i see one or two very interesting arcade racers right there.. Reminder: Racing Sims and Arcades are two DIFFERENT things. Someone could enjoy one more than the other.
F1 World Grand Prix 1999, specifically the PS1 version. The N64 version was fantastic, and I haven’t played the Dreamcast sequel but it doesn’t look so bad itself. This is actually worse than F1 98 because at least F1 98 is playable to some degreee

There was this one game I bought for like 10 bucks called "Xtreme speed racing" and my god was it shit. Half of the time it crashed, the other time the frustrating physics, completely unpredictable car handling and extremely shitty graphics ruined the game for me. Would never play again, I think I even have the metal box it came in lying somewhere around here

The PSvita F1 game looked worse than my PSP F1 games. Also the official F1 games until F1 2016 for mobile were quite awful too. The current one is some sort of premium rubbish I don’t want to deal with.
Chequered Flag is the biggest Virtua Racing rip-off I've ever seen, but Virtua Racing (especially Deluxe on the Sega 32X) is 1000x better in every way.
My worst is F1 '99 on Ps Very annoying catch up system on harder levels. CPU were like 20sec faster each lap.. Was going back to play F1 '97. Personnaly the best F1 game to date..

London actually got taken off the calendar because, long story short, one of the residents in Battersea took the Council to court over breaking the law to host the race (And the locals had a pretty strong case, they even asked the Council for their health and safety risk assessment and the Council replied: "We don't have it anymore; we deleted it by accident") and even went as far as crowdfunding the judicial review; Formula E, fearing that they'd lose their season 2 finale if the council lost the case, cut a deal with the protestors to avoid the court case, in which they agreed that 2016 would be the last race, after which it would never return to the park, which would instead be completely restored to how it looked before tarmac was added for run-off areas. Sadly there's no news of a replacement venue elsewhere in London which is a big shame; FE got a very raw deal out of Battersea IMO, and not just because they raced on a narrow ring road. But anyway that's really just politics so not many people know or are interested in the story.

F1 98 handling model is like a tractor in Grand Prix mode but drifts too much in Arcade Mode.

How do you get 0:50? Also, you can get drive throughs for corner cutting. Or going wide. Or pretty much anything.
In the PS Vita version, you could do a lap of Montréal in 1min 8sec.

In f1 2009, I managed at Belgium to backflip for 3 minutes in the air and when I respawned, my car was fine.
