What to Expect in Canadian Prison: A Day in My Prison

  • What a day in my prison looked like. I stayed in the Drumheller Medium institution for a bit. It's what I mainly talk about in this video. I would describe the other 3 prisons I also stayed in but I forgot what the daily routines were lol. The other 3 prisons were Grierson Minimum Institution, Drumheller Minimum institution, and the Remand centre. Drumheller medium was the most memorable, probably because I hated it the most.

    What's the reading material like? Do you have the ability to access to good books? By "good" I mean anything from classics to new releases.

      Haha I appreciate bro. I’ll post again when I can think of something good to talk about. Tbh there’s not much else I can say. I only stayed in the medium prison for 3 months and that’s where all the cool stories were. My 7 months in minimum was quiet and chill.

    So random question. I know that in US prisons races stick together (whites with whites black with blacks etc). Is that the same in Canada, or is race less of a big thing?

    • @tfit780

      Same thing but it’s not mandatory. For example, other asians will be more nice to me because I happen to be Asian too. But we’re not restricted to only 1 group

    Hey bro. Your videos are so full of info it's great. Can you explain how you go from medium security to minimum security? Is there anything you did to make that happen?

    • @tfit780
      @tfit780  3 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      During your first 90 days in prison, they will do a mandatory assessment on you to determine the level of risk you’re going to be. Within those 90 days you have to prove yourself. Stay away from fights, don’t get involved in the prison politics, don’t join a gang in prison but if you do, don’t let the guards or your parole officer know. Basically just chill in there and you’ll get in minimum

      @@tfit780 Thank you brother. I appreciate it.

    • @tfit780
      @tfit780  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No problem. Usually what screws men over into getting into minimum after their 90 days is that they’re repeat offenders. I went into prison with 2 of my co-accused and only the 2 of us got into minimum and the other guy had to stay in the medium because he had an extensive criminal history before going to prison.

    • @tfit780
      @tfit780  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Also, don’t be a drug addict. If you’re addicted to any hard drugs, they’ll keep you in the medium to “treat” you. They don’t do that for you in the minimum. The minimum is a place for everyone to be lazy basically especially the guards. It’s a place that most guards end up in after they’ve served enough time in the harder prisons. The last thing they want there is to deal with any sort of stress which is pretty awful if you think about how laid back they are in the minimums lol
