    Hey thank you! Wife and I have a 2009 E450 6.8L V10 3v shuttle, that we converted to an RV. At 204K miles, it's time to replace the rubber hoses, as one popped last year headed home. Thank you for explaining the whole thing and making it a lot less daunting.

      @@GirlieGaragethe hose on the lower driver side can the fitting that it connects to be replaced? On mine it appears to have a very small leak at where the gold piece threads in.

      @@adventuresofbink 😂🤣 that would deter me, if the parts guys said that! It’s not too bad of a job. The worst part is the hose clamps deep in the engine bay. If you have long arms (or a step stool) you should be fine.

      Hello!
      I have a question:
      How much antifreeze did you put after installing the new hose?

    Like the term HAPPY 😂 I HAVE a 97 ford f150 5.4 2wd and the same bottom hoses to replace .lhave remove most of the front part of the motor radiator, fan and clutch, water pump thermostat and housing ,cooling reservoir and ready to install every part with new part with the exception of the 4 link bottom hoses at first glance it looked to intimidating cause the two hose that go back under the engine i couldn't see where they connected too but watching how you did it looked real easy and i confess i didnt crawl under the truck to see where the 2hoses connect too and i really want to change out the bottom hose so following your lead im going for it,never let it be said i got showed by a girl (no pun intended) thank you very much for sharing .🤭🫣❤

    Excellent and helpful video. The clamp on the frame that holds the 2 oil cooler lines is impossible to reach from the top. It is easier to feel and remove the clamp from underneath using a small 10mm ratchet. It is also easier to remove the large radiator hose from below by grabbing it and wigglying it up and down once you have loosened the hose clamp or slid it down the hose. I'd also be careful with that long prybar and hammer as the hose housing is aluminum.

    I just discovered in the parking lot, leaving work that that same bolt for my steering linkage had rubbed through the hose, and that braided sleeve that is supposed to protect the hose from abrasion was not where it belonged to perform its job. 😢

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Dang! Well at least you found it and can fix it. Hopefully you can find a way to secure the protector (I like metal zip ties or lots of regular zip ties)

      @@GirlieGarage gorilla tape and zip ties to temporarily seal the lower radiator hose, I assured the coolant was topped off and left the overflow reservoir cap loose so that the system would not pressurize and leak faster then proceeded to drive 12 hours interstate with no issues lol. Still need to get it fixed.

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Generally you fill the radiator and reservoir then turn the heat on high, start the engine and let it burp itself while it warms up. Usually once heat is coming through the vents, most of the air is out. Some systems self-burp, you just have to determine which one you have

    Hoses to oil cooling housing I didn’t mark them.how they go?

    • @GirlieGarage
      @GirlieGarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Maybe put the old hose back in and see where they sit (with rub marks, dust, etc) that’s the only idea I can offer you, unless one is dramatically longer and therefore wouldn’t fit the other side.
