WHAT'S THAT NOISE? - Engine Rattling on Cold Start - Girlie Garage
มุมมอง 2463 หลายเดือนก่อน
The term "death rattle" typically refers to a loud, rattling noise coming from the engine, which is often an indicator of a deeper problem with the car’s engine or hybrid system. The death rattle can happen for a few reasons, such as: Head Gasket Issues: A leaking or failing head gasket can allow coolant to enter the cylinders, causing rough running, misfires, and that rattling sound. EGR Syste...

i have this issue on my 2014 wrangler. This is the optimum repair, in my opinion. would that i was young enough to do this myself. alas, I'm not. thank you for this video, i know there are other options than the suggested replacing the tank (um, no thanks)...
ive got some light pitting in my bottom left surface where the water pump mates, thats where mine as leaking. im afraid to just use the new AISIN gasket with the new water pump. alot of people saying using the Toyota or AISIN black FIPG sealant...? if i use that FIPG should i not use the physical gasket and just the sealant? thx
Buena maestra muy bien explicado ❤
Can i bring my focus to you and have this done? 😐
How do you know the heater core is the problem and are you in San Diego?
@GirlieGarage I think today while I was driving I saw faint wisps of steam when I turned on the windshield defroster 😐
@GirlieGarage I'm in Canoga Park CA , north of you
Such foul language!
😋
Thanks a lot I am shah from Afghanistan I have 1999 4Runner and the engine is 5vz And it smokes blue could you please put all engine repairing video of 5 vz fe engine
Thank you for reaching out. This is not my vehicle. I would recommend that you do a leak down test to determine if your oil is blowing past your piston rings or your valve stems and do the repair accordingly
Why did you cut to after you had the hinge off?
I don’t understand your comment. The video seems pretty clear to me. If you have a question, maybe you can ask it in a different way
You need to reset the tps . Do not remove it.
The other comments are correct. What was removed was the MAP sensor
@GirlieGarage so the map sensor doesn't need to be calibrated? Can't believe I'm asking a girl for assistance on mechanics lol. Its Nice for a woman to know her stuff tho
i cleaned my throttle body also but there was slight improvement.. maybe My MAP SENSOR, IDLE AIR CONTROL, OR TPS is bad??
I have a 98 civic
I use the same curses at stubborn bolts! It helps! 😂
I really really like to edit those parts out. I’m glad someone else has an extensive vocabulary when it comes to stuck bolts
I enjoyed all of these even though you didn’t! I particularly liked car yoga. Reminds me of working on boats.
100%!! You end up in some weird boat yoga positions for sure
Okay, So, Okay, So that was interesting and funny in places. I'm sure you have many times where you get a good laugh out of what you are doing.
Glad you found it entertaining! I just find it annoying when having to edit so much out! At least it can be funny after the fact 🤣
I couldn't find the link to understand the codes

I just send the new one in with the back bracket already attached, way easier!
That was a great video I'll be using very soon
Thank you for this valuable info
Thanks
the @dailydrivenexotics Aventador SVJ is beast!!
excellent video! very thorough and helpful, thank you. this gives me confidence to give it a try
You’ve got this!
Thanks for this informative tutorial. I followed each step and alls good. Cheers🍷🦘🇦🇺
Yes! Congrats on completing this job yourself!!!
I just got a 2011 VW Tiguan. No heat after 2 days. So checked lines and the inlet to the heater core part snapped off. Got new part, cleaned lines. Ran water threw heater core, no gunk came out, just water. Put all hoses back on filled up with antifreeze, squeezed bottom hose replaced cap. I let run for awhile, checked heat and I got heat. For 39 seconds. As car was running checked over flow bottle, and was going down . Shut car off put more in and started again. Got up to temp and let run. Heat worked again for a few seconds, then stopped. So I decided to drive not far. After about 5 miles the alarm for overheat cane on. Got home to see I lost alll coolant. Idk, think the SUV is done. Any thoughts?
Sounds like you’re pouring it in and it’s draining out somewhere
When you find a video of what you were looking for with proper details from a girl!!! Thank you I appreciate you
I know! It’s so crazy that girls work on cars and create content too! #rare I’m glad you found this video helpful
Very detailed breakdown of the steps in the job, thanks for a great video.
Same procedure on the passenger side? Thank you so much.
Usually the passenger side door has less electronics, but yes, same process
@ Thank you so much
tiur an idiot
Nice job.
I've been a mechanic for 54 years and this video was very explanatory and well spoken. Only needed to pick out certain parts but you hit the nail of the head and I appreciate that.
Thank you! Doing my best to create helpful content!! 😎
Did my own timing belt ,saved $800 dollars thanks to your 3.4 timing cover vid
Yes!!! I love good news! Thank you for sharing 🤩
i wonder if crank pulley bolt truly matters which you use? the 1st im seeing this and im doing the job soon. havent noticed this discrepancy between bolts and years anywhere before, interesting, ill read up on this. i ordered one for my 98 and def got the one you noted is for 99-02
I don’t know if it makes a difference or not. When I did my digging, Toyota obviously split them. Not sure if the design has a different amount of threads or if just the head design is different which is why the different torque specs. If you find anything new, please let us know
Such a great video. Detailed and concise. Thank you!
Thank you very much. I succeeded thanks to you!
Thank you and I found it helpful.....but please wash your seat cover :D
I'm currently working on a 93 Toyota 4Runner 4 x 4 V6 3.0L what are the torque specs for spark plugs on that?
13ft lbs
@GirlieGarage And the valve covers?, please.
Snug tight only or you wont get them back out once they get hot.
Everything worked except once key is programmed, doors do not actually lock. They sound like they’re trying but the locke never engage. Please advise!
Okay, uhhh… it works for all doors except drivers side. Help!
Did it work before or is this a new setup? If it’s new did your locks work with the door lock button before? If NO then the actuator is probably bad. If YES, make sure all your locks are locked or unlocked before you start the programming process. I hope that helps!
Bad ass
Full 100!,,
Okay so just an idea 4:41 the tough screw. Ripping etc. a not perfect but maybe better solution would an oscillating tool reach in there n cut that screw?
If you can do that blindly, without causing damage to the firewall, that’s a decent idea!
Thanks very much for the great video! I only wish I had found it prior to doing the Aisin timing belt/water pump change-out on my son’s old Tundra. Lots of tips & torques, direct and to the point. Two thumbs up.
Toyota FSM says thermostat jiggled valve goes to 6 o’clock. Otherwise great job.
There are many comments on this. Technically it does change the temperature a couple degrees but unless you are towing constantly or off-roading constantly it doesn’t make a big difference
Replaced with a used one genuine Honda part from a junkyard and then my dash lights just flash. Replaced with old one and still same flashing which wasn't happening before. Car just started to move it over in garage to replace the part and now can't start at all.
Then you likely have an unrelated issue. Check to make sure you have a fully charged 12v battery
Excellent advice
What an absolute night.are for what should be a simple job. Thank you
Thank you. I just got this done ✅
I have been wondering where the leak was coming from. Thanks!
Helpful video. Thanks!
Wow, great tutorial. I did not want to remove everything just to get to those three spark plugs.
Great video very simple and short keep up the wonderful work
Toyota factory service manual for a Toyota 4Runner 3.4 thermostat jiggle hole should be installed at the 6:00 position in your video you have it at the 12:00 position....
There is a lot of commentary already on this in the comment section if you want to check it out
Why is the bolt (stud) that goes through this mount so loose in the mount's bushing? Thanks. Good video
Oops, sorry. I just saw the same question posted by matthewpowell1855, below.
Thank you so much! I was about to lose my mind because I couldn’t fix this latch, and my local dealership told me that it would be very expensive for them to fix. Thanks to you, it’s as good as new for less than $20!
100%! Great job on doing your homework and fixing it yourself (mine was driving me crazy too)!!
Thanks for the video, straight to the point and very detailed. Got all the parts and this will be my job next weekend! Was this your engine or a clients? Any other common issues you have seen with the 5vzfe?
This was a client’s car. At this point all of these 5vz’s are old-ish so they are starting to see their age and need refreshes all around
