Player is a British-American rock band that made their mark during the late 1970s. "Baby Come Back" was their biggest hit in 1977. They also did some other songs such as "This Time I'm In It For Love".
Ok wow I had no idea they were British that's cool and I never heard of any other songs by them so I'm going to check that one out. Thank you for sharing!🙂

When this song (Baby Come back)came out in November 1977, it was played not just on pop rock stations but also R&B radio stations , same for Hall & Oates and Ambrosia around the same time. They were called BLUE EYED SOUL. I called it the People's music. Everybody loved it. I was 14 in 1977, but I remember it well.

You probbably saw a piece of this song in the first TRANSFORMERS movie. In the scene where the main character (Sam) was about to let Megan Fox go because the car (Bumblebee) didn't start. So, when she was about to leave the car (bumblebee) started and put this song to play. That's where you heard it from.
