It's also worth noting that countries with far fewer shootings also play violent video games and listen to "violent" music, so it's pretty obviously not a factor in why there are so many shootings in the USA. Norway has one of the biggest metal scenes in the world, and yet we've so far only had two shootings since World War II.
From the years of Slipknot interviewers we've all seen one thing has stayed the same. Shawn doesn't play around and tells you how it is. It's not rude or mean it's simple hard truth people can't handle.
I'm not the biggest Slipknot fan in the world but when I saw them for the Tattoo the Earth tour opening for Metallica in the year 2000 at the Meadowlands stadium I knew they were going to have a lot of potential. I always had great respect for their drummer when he covered Frost from Satyricon in US tours when he was banned from entering the country.
I saw the Tattoo the Earth Festival in Phoenix in, 99, maybe? It was hot as FUCK, like 115 (maybe more) degrees hot. I don't remember much, but I do remember Nashville Pussy and I remember watching people mosh around bonfires during Slipknot thinking "this is the craziest shit I've ever seen!"
I can understand on a deeper level now the line "I can stare into a thousand eyes, but every smile hides a bold-faced lie." Also 'this mask is nothing without me' is a godly perspective!
These guys are on top of their game all the time, we could have an hour long video and they will not stop outclassing the interviewers. Also, can we appreciate how well Shawn has selected and is portraying his masked identity

Saxon once asked "Did you listen to the radio every Friday night?" The answer to that from every rock and metal fan in the UK was a resounding "YES!" For all the non UK folks on here the last interviewer is Tommy Vance, the radio 1 DJ who did the famous and much loved "Friday Rock show" here in the UK for many years. One of the most loved rockers of all time. I would listen to his show on the Friday and go to the record store on Saturday to buy stuff he had played the night before. The man is responsible for much of my record collection. He also used to be the announcer at Monsters Of Rock, the first proper metal festival in the UK. I would say he wasn't "outclassed" here, he held his own having a laugh with a band that he knew and respected. I admit when he suddenly appeared at the end I felt quite emotional as he was part of making the soundtrack of my youth (as well as my 20s and 30s!). Cheers Tommy. Rock In Peace!
I heard Corey Taylor say in a separate interview that music has lost the art of learning and practicing your instrument and your craft, especially with these modern day mass produced pop and rapper. I continue to respect that statement
It hasn't completely like its still hard to produce and finish music electrically but I agree that there are many rappers especially that are not even good at rapping but are Still popular because of the person they are even though they actually have 0 talent

RIP #4 Legend
Damn I thought he was just being rude. Rip #5
Tommy Vance was great. So much passion and enthusiasm for rock music no matter the sub genre.
I love it that Joey answers almost all the questions here!
From the years of Slipknot interviewers we've all seen one thing has stayed the same. Shawn doesn't play around and tells you how it is. It's not rude or mean it's simple hard truth people can't handle.
He's a Richard Cranium.
@@jaxxrocket1530 Yeah. You probably are as well.
Truth is always hard & people always can't handle it. Clown got his point.
So him telling that lady that she pisses him off isn't rude or mean?
@@majorbackyardwrestling9126 Well not entirely. Clearly she said something to piss him off and that stands as it is.
Amazing musicians like Corey listen to EVERYTHING. That's how they succeed along with genuine talent.
Wait... Is there an interview that Slipknot didn't outclass?
Yeah, the Nardwuar one
Or any metal band for that matter
Yes it starts at 5:17.
Edit: sorry thats the end of the video. It's actually 5:18.
These guys are on top of their game all the time, we could have an hour long video and they will not stop outclassing the interviewers. Also, can we appreciate how well Shawn has selected and is portraying his masked identity
Been listening to Slipknot for over 2 years now they inspire me to learn guitar. They are still kicking ass they are great song writers and performers. Corey has an amazing voice that guy can sing for real in different types of music. This band has made millions of fans very happy with their innovative sound image, and great songs. Not everyone has to like them but for those of us who loved them we the maggots will endure feeding on the living or the dead 🤘🤘🤘
after i heard them i sold my guitar and bought a clown costume . if i cant join a band ill join the circus
I love the arcade interview so much.
You can tell they’re just trying to have fun and the interviewers are grasping at what they can like a needle in a haystack haha
I wanna write a metal song one day called "Jackass" with the only lyrics being "jackass" and "you're a jackass" to honor Clown XD
Uhhh... Riiiggghhht 👍
The Clown is intelligent speaker, Shawn Crahan so honest man and Slipknot without him is nothing
RIP Gabrielle Crahan
He isn’t tho
@@shotgunsam23 he is super intelligent. Don’t show it in this video but he is a very very clever man.
He just comes across as arrogant and immature in these interviews though. When he's clearly tying to intimidate the interviewer, that's not "outclassing" them.
@@stevepolychronopoulis were talking about clown not Corey.
@@rhyanwalker94 the same goes for both of them.
Peter Parker: I’m nothing without the suit
Slipknot: The masks are nothing without us
Slipknot being better than Spider-Man
I'm gonna die after this aren't i
As a fan I had the pleasure of meeting Clown at a signing. Nothing but a class act. Based on the way interviewers treat these guys they're lucky they haven't been shit on worse.
i love how shawn is always so calm
Craig: ...
Loudwire : *wow he really outclassed them with that line* 😍😍
Petition to make loudwire loudknot
They did Knotwire for awhile and people lost their shit lol
Maybe they should change it to loudknot on April fools this year
You just knew the "you're a jackass" interview was gonna be on here 😂
Oh yeah for sure. When I saw the title I was curious as to why not the “jackass” interview wasn’t the thumbnail 😂
Then I remembered that they already used it 😔
Interviewer: "Jackass" would be my song? Lemme hear a couple lyrics!
Clown:"You're a Jackass..."
I love it!
I believe that is the comedian Mitch Fatel
That first clip made me love Corey man. Don't get me wrong, Im a metal head but im also a Jazz Major so hearing him actually know his shit with jazz just lit me up
Jesus, Joey has always been very well spoken and clearly passionate about any and all music. RIP, 🔨Hammer!
Corey has so much patience. I would have been like Wtf...
Corey is one of the classiest dudes in music. Love listening to that man talk. Very smart.
Agreed
Saw them live and WOW are they ever so amazing !!!!! 5 encores for their fans !!!! Best concert glad to see them after this horrible covid protocol bs
i wanna be at their concert too, but theres no hope for me
Woman: What pisses you off?
Clown: You. lmfao
3:28 his voice is like Joaquin Phoenix
😂😂😂😂
Just for fun, but I miss Sid speaking alienlanguage almost all the time! XD Now that's something to deal with if you're an interviewer.
Oh yeah, I remember that, he spoke the language of the gods😂 Gosh, him being himself, I love it!
@@sidthejovian5105 I think it was geonosian
@@theblackknight870 Oh shit 😯 He will be my language teacher for now!
“nobody knows what you’re saying sid 😐”
“huababadodossededede”
Rip joey you're a fucking legend man thanks for everything you have done
I have nothing but love for this band ❤
Saxon once asked "Did you listen to the radio every Friday night?"
The answer to that from every rock and metal fan in the UK was a resounding "YES!"
For all the non UK folks on here the last interviewer is Tommy Vance, the radio 1 DJ who did the famous and much loved "Friday Rock show" here in the UK for many years.
Up Next: We ask COREY TAYLOR from SLIPKNOT how he FEELS about our videos where he TALKS about how he FEELS. HE HAS FEELINGS GUYS.
but what does Corey Taylor think about this
You realize that Slipknot or Corey Taylor haven’t been the main topic of a video for over 4 months
I need this video now.
@@wolfbournethefirst5055 Wow, over 4 whole months? I guess that totally erases everything.
Pack it up, guys, meme's officially over.
Shawn is such a nice guy. Met him at Mayhem years ago and he was such a kind person.
4:50 Dude fired a brutal shot there. Gotta admire his courage.
love the group interviews where you don’t know who’s talking
Saw slipknot in concert 10 years ago. What an experience.
I heard Corey Taylor say in a separate interview that music has lost the art of learning and practicing your instrument and your craft, especially with these modern day mass produced pop and rapper. I continue to respect that statement
his solo music is fucking trash tho
yes I agree
It hasn't completely like its still hard to produce and finish music electrically but I agree that there are many rappers especially that are not even good at rapping but are Still popular because of the person they are even though they actually have 0 talent
C-rap is nothing but pure hate ( I can’t even call it music), against the white people and authorities!!!
Same can be said about slipknot. Slipknot makes good music but it’s all about perspective and preference. Pop is popular because it’s catchy. Isn’t that all that music really is at the end of the day?
"In twenty years no one's going to be walking around whistling Slipknot." Lemmy Kilmister
i forgive old-timers being dumb like that, it's what they're there for, but holy shtt did he never hear the duality riff??
@@c.lamiti8683 to each their own. If you like it that's all that matters. I just found it amusing. Same interview he was also pissing on Andy Warhol and experimental jazz. I'm sure some people would take offense to that too.
@@bman6065 that probably came across WAY more hostile than i meant it to, i love lemmy to bits, but i was just saying slipknot has some insanely catchy riffs that the nurses are gonna get REAL sick of me humming if i live to be nursing home age
@@c.lamiti8683 neither I nor Lemmy's ghost mind. Keep rocking your loud music
God I fucking love Lemmy.
I actually met Corey Taylor when he was with Stonesour when through the glass came out and he was one of the nicest guys I’ve ever met. I’ve met a few bands and they were by far the sweetest people.
that interview with joey and paul breaks my heart.
the jazz history he drops oh boi, he knows his shit for real
Awesome group of guys. 17 or 18 years ago I remember getting a cassette it was a demo of wait and bleed. My buddies and I got at a blockbuster in the mall. They came to Houston played at the international ballroom with mudvayne. We hung around outside the bus after the concert and drank chocolate milk random but amazing
“You’re a jackass” 😂😂😂 that’s the start of killer song
Is it?
I love how interviewers expect some crazy madmans...and in the interview they get down to earth nice guys who just love metal
My favorite metal band and I am thankful they still make music.
I don't know why people seem to think metal heads are unlettered cavemen when the genre consistently produces the most talented and intelligent musicians on the planet.
“If there was a metal song about me what’d it be called”
“Jackass”
Dead
HAHAHHAH A saw this right as it happened. Beautiful.
“Can I hear some of the lyrics?”
“You’re a jackass”
God knows they deserve better interviewers
Hearing Corey Taylor being a jazz fan is so satisfying
Reporter: "are you something without the mask?"
Clown: "Absolutely"
Also clown: "when I leave here Imma take these pants off and you're not gonna know who I am"
I mean there's a couple here that the interviewers handled it very well and the band mates met their match.
Love them or hate them they were the best metal band with best lyrics and sounds. Think about how many tracks and instruments they had on a record that all sounds equal and cut right through the mix. Also some of the best and deepest lyrics with great meaning.
3:10
Chris Fehn was too depress, knowing that he was just a hired gun.
I wonder if they were still hazing him at that point
Nobody is talking about how cool joey looks with a hoodie🔥
This is the first time im listening to sklipknot. Absolutely fantastic!!
The interview with Paul Gray and Joey Jordison is just golden. At least they're both together in heaven.
