@@TheLoopyLamb I have never tried this yarn before. I originally didn't purchase the stitch counter and stitch markers. I have them now! I will try them on this project!

Thanks for the tip. I did notice that the inside of the amigurumi was fluffiest. But ir you're doing something like a ball, how do you turn it inside out and then close it?
Turn the project inside out so you’re working with the side that you want to be on the inside facing you. You can do this right away or after a couple of rounds, before you start stuffing.
@@ocelotito exactly! The decreases are just basic single crochet decreases done the normal way. No point in doing invisible decreases since the fur hides everything 🙂
Unfortunately, I don't. With the fur yarn, you cannot see your stitches on camera so I don't generally do video tutorials for the fur toys (except for Salty the Seal where I have done a tutorial using worsted weight yarn to create "babies" using the same pattern)
@@TheLoopyLamb I am finishing up a go for fleece Sherpa sweater. I tried to use the go for fleece yarn for seaming and it got completely tangled. That’s why I was wandering what to do. The pattern only stated to assemble, but didn’t mention what yarn to use…
@@Maya-rx4wm My guess would be that if it wasn't stated otherwise in the pattern, that they expect you to utilize the sherpa yarn for seaming. If you're finding it problematic, you could try a coordinating smoothe yarn and see if you like the look of it. Using a mattress stitch seam could help minimize a different yarn from showing through. I hope this helps.
What if I’m changing colors back and forth? I’m making a cow and I’m using fur yarn. But I noticed the wrong side is waaaaay fluffier then the right side. How would I use the wrong side when there’s all kinds of color change back and forth, the tapestry crochet way. I’m very new to this
The pattern that I am using says to use fur yarn and a sport weight size 2 yarn of the same color. It says to carry the fur with the working yarn. I did this and the working yarn covered the fur yarn. She said to use the smallest hook and poke through the seam of the fur. Do you know how hard that is with black yarn. I think I will just stick with hairless animals. Any suggestions
Hi Tina, Sorry for the late reply! If the black yarn is problematic, I recommend working in direct sunlight or using a crafting lamp like an ottlite (if possible). I'm not sure what the pattern is that you're working on but I'd contact the designer directly and ask for any tips that they have for that section. Unless the placement of the section you're working on is vital, I'd personally just use my best guess of placement since the fur can be very forgiving and hide small variances. I'm sorry I can't be of more assistance.
Hi..had a rough time crocheting with this chenalle yarn so I looked up a video for help..glad found yours..just a question..any tips as how to go about while reducing the stitches for amigurumi toys
Hi Kiran, I'm So glad that you found this video helpful. Are you looking for tips for making decrease stitches in amigurumi while using your chenille yarn or just decreasing stitches in amigurumi in general?

@@1sheilajanae try using a big hook like an 8 or 10mm. Once you get a hang of feeling the Stitches with that, go down a hook size or two and try that. Keep doing that until you get down to the hook size you need for your pattern. Also remember, that it doesn’t have to be perfect. The fur hides everything so if you have a stitch or two in the wrong spot like between the stitches, it isn’t a huge deal
Thank you so much for taking this big step, as a visual learner I so much appreciate it.
You're welcome. Thank you so much for the encouragement. I appreciate it 😄
Such great tips, it will be so helpful as I want to make your koala but I was quite nervous about using faux fur yarn 🐨
Thank you so much 😄
Great tips! I especially like the last one about wrong side/ right side showing! Thank you.

I was watching yarn hookers live but on replay and am looking forward to seeing your channel
Thanks Lydia!
The first time I did amigurumi projects I was doing them inside out. I don't know how many little animals I did before I figured it out.🤣
lol I did the same thing when I first started!
Thank you for the tips.

Thank you for the tips. Going to have a go at making the owl.

Thank you for the tips. How do you seam the pieces together. Do you use the same yarn or a simple same color yarn?
