Omg!!! Bless your heart for sharing this miracle!!. I bought tons of eyelash yarn when it was 70%off and more when our Dollar Tree had it. Then I discovered it was impossible to crochet with so it was safely packed away for my reincarnation as a master of crochet. I think I will dig it out now. I think it will be adorable on sweater cuffs, hat brims, and anything that needs a row of fur
This is me currently with mohair yarn. I am a beginner and overestimated my crochet ability, and ordered a ton of mohair yarn to crochet winter hats 😢😢
I have a Ludo pattern that I've been wanting to try for months, but I knew I'd be out of my depth with the eyelash yarn. You've inspired me to make it in regular worsted weight and follow your surface crochet technique to fuzz him up when I'm done. You're a genius! Thank you for sharing!
THANK YOU! I bought some fuzzy fur yarn and thought it was the softest ever and decided I had to make some stuffed animals with it. Stocked up on all the kinds too before ever getting it on my hook and then cried softly into it wondering how I would ever do it only 2 rounds in. This is genius and so much easier!
OMG I have seen like 10 videos on how to work with this yarn and this is the only one that has been helpful, thank you so much 🙏🏻 I can’t wait to get to work with the yarns I have
THANK YOU for saving my eyelash yarns!!! I would try every so often to crochet with the "fun" yarns, then get frustrated and knit scarves. Now I can use this yarn for really fun stuff!
I thought this was a brilliant idea. It was even faster and easier to thread the eyelash yarn on a large needle and sew through the stitches. An advantage is that most of the eyelashes get caught under the crochet stitches so that you can see what you’re doing. When you’ve finished brush them with a wire pet brush to pull the strands out.
I've had some yellow and white eyelash yarn in my stash for more than a decade! I tried making stuff with it but it made me crazy so I just kept it not knowing what to do. Now I know how to use it!! Thank you so much! I can finally put this stuff to use!!
I am going to love your method, I can tell already. I too have had a bad experience with eyelash. But now is the time when I want to up my game on a stuffy for my son, so it has to happen. You may have just save my life, thank you so much 🥰
Oh yeah. I just got my first two skeins of fluffy yarn for a bunny for my niece. I tried a couple of circles, and by the third round I knew it wasn't going to happen 😂 my first thought was to surface crochet - a THOUSAND times easier, and it worked out pretty great!!
I found an excellent blog on how to crochet a rectangle throw pillow and she used the same technique. My cat loves to make knead on it. First crochet two SC rectangles and then SC your eyelash yarn just like she is showing here. Great advice and generous of you to share it! Your hedgehog is really nice!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, my granddaughter wanted me to make her a hedgehog! After an hour of crocheting with nothing to show , I gave up! But now I can do it this way. She will be so excited when I give it to her, thanks again for sharing.
I just received a custom order for a Sasquatch and I was wondering how in the world I was going to accomplish the fur. I’m glad ai found your video! Your hedgehog came out exactly like I envisioned the Sasquatch fur to look like. Thanks a million for sharing!
I just started my second ever crochet project, an amigurumi that I chose to do with eyelash yarn. 4 stitches in and I was so confused why it was so awful and difficult. You are a godsend!!!
I know this is 3 years late, but this is amazing! I have a project that needed this and for the life of me couldn't figure out how to work with this stuff! You saved my life! Thank you!!!!
Nice idea I also saw a lady who was just catching across yarn with her hook whilst crocheting the body with normal yarn which look amazing will be giving both a go
@@spinwooldi not sure who it was it’s on TH-cam I don’t save history just watched a few videos on this subject will see if I can find it again and post it if I do.
Hoyl moly, I usually don't comment on many videos anymore but I couldn't help myself this time - this is GENIUS! thank you for saving me so much time and distress - I am SO looking forward to starting on m ylittle sheep - you saved my project, thank you 💕💕
This is brilliant. I recently bought this type of yarn, as l wanted to do furry bears but then after getting it, l started thinking about how I'm going to manage crocheting with it. You are all a genius, as you came along at the right time. You have definitely have me there answer. Thank you so much. ❤️🙂
Thank you! I had tried embroidering or sewing the fuzzy yarn on top of the plain part but it never worked. This method is the BEST, it looks great and it is so easy! Thank you again for making this video ❤
This is FANTASTIC! I was struggling with eyelash yarn yesterday and I was ready to smash things from frustration. You've saved me from extra frown lines.
That’s great for doing amigurami. Love your hedgehog! As for doing furry trim on a garment all I do is crochet between each stitch instead of into each stitch.
I was gifted about 15 skeins of eyelash yarn and they are all beautiful but they are a pain in the butt to use. You have given me a perfect way to actually use some of it instead of giving it all away. THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!
Thanku so much for sharing ....8 years back , I tried a amigurumi , and till now I haven't make other ...totally locked my crochet hooks after that horrible experience ... Thanku so much ..I will again start amigurumi
OMG! What a game changer! I just was given some Christmas colors in eyelash yarn and gave up quickly trying to make something out of it. Thank you for this!
Thanks you for this video! I have "fun fur" and also struggled with it, I too was about to give up crocheting for a while but instead made an attempt with a larger hook and had some success but this is awesome! Yes, my idea light did go off. You're brilliant!
I threw a few things as well the last time I tried eyelash yarn. After a while I gave up on looking at my stitches and knowing I had the right number and just went by feeling. I like your trick better and will definitely put it to good use. Thank you so much.
I love you!!!! I found some eyelash yarn in a thrift shop(they probably didn’t know your awesome method and just tossed it) and tried using it. I was ready to give it away, too, but found you. I can make so many cute things now. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
I was searching for some project for Christmas decorations made of eyelash/tinsel yarn and those I could find seemed so hard to follow. Then I saw this video and your way to crochet with they eyelash yarn is so so perfect and frustration free. Thank you so so much!
Thank you, thank youu, thank you! I was about to throw this in the fire until I saw your tutorial. 😢 but now i can continue making my grandson the toy he wants. ❤
WOW! So happy that I found your video before attempting my crochet wings! I initially was going to combine the yarn with the eyelash stuff. ...and wondered how I was going to get all of the fuzz onto one side without having to pick all of the bits through to one side. Well, enough said! Your way is THE WAY! Thank you thank you thank you!!!!!
Oh my GOD! I've been meaning to crochet a cookie monster doll for my pregnant neighbor but also dreading it. Now I'm about to go actually start it and not need to cry over the eyelash yarn. Thank you so much
This is an amazing video! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this and explaining so clearly the process. This has been exactly what I’ve been looking for and has opened so many doors for me. You’re a wonderful lady! X
I love your honesty !!! I appreciate this video so much, for your personality & you speaking your truth. I have this yarn in Neon pink & I bought it forever ago & just been sitting on it cuz idk wth to do with it🤷🏻♂️😵💫🤣
I bought a bunch of this yarn on ebay. After giving up several times on crocheting amigurumi I put it away. I just started a knitting a bunny with it. It seems to be going pretty well, but I love this idea. I think it might be my next amigurumi project.
so I watched your video and just created another "Worry Pet" this one is much bigger than the other ones i have made before. I used some left over Easter Eggs I crocheted. he looks super cute to me though... he came to life when i glued a face on him of course
Whaaaat! Bless you! I’ve been coveting a pattern of a crochet chicken but knew it would send me into a psychotic rage using eyelash yarn! Lol Now I can make it! ❤❤❤
I am so trying this. I had a thought for a black bear. I must have been insane to think eyelash yarn would work. But now I am going to give it another go.
Thank you thank you thank you! I have been wanting to crochet a sloth but have been dreading working with eyelash yarn until now! You are my hero! Lol!
I have eye lash yarn. Added 6 in a magic circle then was about to throw out the whole skien because I couldn't see any stitches. Thank you for this idea!
Great idea! I wonder if this could be used to make garments as well. I've been wanting to make a fuzzy camisole for my daughter. I'll probably try swatching first to see how gappy it looks of tye crochet rubbing stretches. Thanks so much for making this helpful video!!

Thank You very much for a piece of great information! I've collected the eyelash yarns throughout the year but don't know what to do with them. Now I have a lot of projects in mind to use them up.
Awesome idea thank you! I just dug up some rainbow coloured eyelash yarn from years ago, back then I knitted a scarf with it which was easy but I'm into crocheting now so I was looking for ways to use it with crochet. This is great!
Hi Wendi I feel your pain lol. I managed to crochet a sparkly silver unicorn using this yarn. What I did was use a 4ply white yarn along with the eyelash yarn and it worked. Also you couldn't see the white yarn just the silver sparkle. I am now going to attempt a baby cardigan using this method, fingers crossed xx
Omg...thank you very much!!! I've been wondering how to work with this kind of yarn!! I've tried to crochet it..knit it...but its horrible!!!..in the end i frog it...n keep all my fancy yarn away, now i know how to work with it..thank to you ^^..i'm gonna have fun with all of them..thank you again my dear..♥♥
Thank you so much I wanted to crochet a scarf for my daughter out of this type of yarn could not see the stitches so I paired it with a thicker yarn and the effect looks awesome. Thank you from pulling my hair out
Wow Wendi, I got the balls but ignored them as I tried knitting and crocheting with it and big failure. Now going to dig the m out and try again. Many thanks xxx

Here's how I deal with eyelash yarn:
1. Sit in a chair next to the fireplace
2. Toss the yarn into the fire

That took a bit of reconstructive surgery to fix 😁
Thank you! Bought a variety box n this is so helpful.
