He is not apathetic. In the lore it specifies suffering was necessary to keep the balance of creation. Hell used to be the first dimension ever created. It was devoid of suffering and look what became of it. The only reason he didn't kill the dark lord it is because it was among his first creations and refused to kill him out of probably paternal affection.
Because Doomguy wanted to give physical form to the Dark Lord to kill him. He's playing it safe. Should the Dark Lord emerge victorious or escape the Slayer temporarily and go to the Sanctum, he'd have the opportunity to bestow the Father with physical form and kill him. To be completely fair. The ending of doom Sam fucks doomguy over teleporting him to wherever and snatches the crucible. Doomguy clearly didn't forget. Backstabbing a backstabber is fair game.
This makes me wonder was the lifeforce actually completely lost, or did Samur absorb part of it or something. Meaning something-something-substitute for life sphere for Father's revival

Just have to wait for Part 2 for the answer to that. Even the codex is a little vague. Although, we don't really know for a fact that the golden one was the Father's life sphere. Could've been the Khan's.
He wanted to say "fuck it" to bringing the father back to only quell hell's forces, and instead opted to bringing the dark lord out and ending it himself
I just thought Maybe Doom guy from this universe was a dark Lord from the very beginning but was imprisoned by his brother Father ( VEGA) but later from another universe came our Doom guy that we know Father knew this and therefore did not stop him Because he is the only one who can kill him
The slayer destroyed the fathers life sphere to stop him taking physical form. Had he brought back the father, the father wouldn't have allowed him to kill the dark Lord. With the father now out of the way the slayer and the dark Lord can now do battle, and if the slayer wins it will put and end to hell once and for all.
I didn’t watch gameplay of the dlc before this so how’d he betray him? Also doom guy is not the villain in this story. He does what he does because he has no choice
Remember Doom 2016 being praised for short cutscenes that knew no one wanted to watch cutscenes in a Doom game? Hot did Doom Eternal completely forget that and fill the tank up to bursting with this crap fan fiction?
Yeah but Hayden was too sure of himself. And foolishly thought the Slayer wouldn't hold a grudge. But now the Father/Vega can't be killed because he can no longer have a physical body so that's a plus. Slayer probably was also suspicious of Hayden and didn't trust him with such power. Now Slayer can bring forth the Dark Lord, kill him and that should really make it harder for the Demons to invade Earth with no leader, even a non physical one. Then they be aimless with no plan.
As far as I understood all this, they used to be good and helped the Father raise other races and civilizations with good intent. After the Father had to leave his physical form because of the Dark Lord, they lacked and an energy source and also couldn't be reborn and couldn't change their Khan either. So a race that couldn't die was now faced with mortality, which is why the Khan Maykr made a contract with the Dark Lord and started to use tortured human souls as means to survive. So basically, they were good, but became corrupted because the Father left and the Khan Maykr made a deal with the Dark Lord.
This cutscene is the only good thing toward the end of the Blood Swamps, especially after fighting that shit show of a boss, aka shoot eye cubes while hell knights and pinkies attack you along with losing your mobility simulator. I hated that fight.
In short, the Seraph was hella suspicious and the Slayer doubted if Father(god) would really do shit. Plus the Seraph betrayed him before so this is payback. The Slayer wants to revive the dark lord so he can kill him for good.

maligog is probably an ancient titan like the icon of sin but lived way longer. the icon died once and never got the chance to grow any more while maligog was alive for eons slowly growing over time. i mean look at his face you can see the skull and I noticed titans who are powerful or really large are given names the rest are slaves
0:18 when the alarm rings at six in the morning
2016/Eternal was an amazing game all around, but what I never expected was how deep the plot was going to become.
Samur: with the Father returned to power, Urdak will be restored and the Maykrs will be saved.
Slayer: you mean the same Maykrs who sold out the universe to the Demons for their own benefit?
Samur: well, yes, but-
Slayer: (destroys the sphere) f**k ‘em.
Samur must have been far into his transfiguration process as he had that "mmmyyyyy preeecciousss" look on his face with the Father's life sphere near his grasp. He must have been desperate, but geez, there were a lot of Darth Sidious vibes upon seeing that faint smile.
That entire scene had me feeling uneasy, I feel like samur had a darker agenda in mind cause the way his demeanor was. His whole body language and attitude changes as the slayer presents the father's sphere to him before crushing it
@@joshsteele6925 I really had a feeing he was going to betray Vega as Vega betrayed Davoth. He would instead transferred the life energy into his body and take the title of The Father had Doomguy not taken action against him. While Vega had gone through great lengths to help Doomguy rid the universe of Davoth’s influence, Doomguy knew that he had to stop Hayden from continuing the cycle.
2:11 doom-slayer: you think I don’t remember what you did to me back in 2016
He should've just crushed the dark lords orb but i guess it was personal when he crushed Hayden orb
Pay back for the back stabbing he did on mars in doom 2016
To be completely fair. The ending of doom Sam fucks doomguy over teleporting him to wherever and snatches the crucible. Doomguy clearly didn't forget. Backstabbing a backstabber is fair game.
Doom Slayer: Seraph you betrayed me in doom 2016?
The one who laughs last, laughs better, muahahaha
The father : he is you in their image
Doom slayer: im angrier
Hayden: Yes!
Doomguy: No. (breaks sphere)
*God of war flashback*
Exactly my thoughts.
As much of a God of War nerd I am, I'm guessing you're referring to the end of God of War 3?
@@raidenakajacktheripper5988 yep
I kinda wish we saw the Fathers Physical form tho I don’t mind Demonguy one bit
Ok but who was the voice at the start of doom 2016? It wasn’t Novik. It wasn’t Sephiram.
This gigantic beast is just a glorified elevator
This makes me wonder was the lifeforce actually completely lost, or did Samur absorb part of it or something. Meaning something-something-substitute for life sphere for Father's revival
I think the reason of why Doom Slayer betray Samuel Hayden/Seraphim he wants to fight the Dark Lord now and on. But I have feeling Doom Slayer will taste his first defeat.
But after he get beaten and killed by dark lord my theory is he will come alive again become the real god the most powerful creature ever live and whoop dark lord ass bc death is the only thing he haven't experience yet so if someone kill him that mean they will faces the real demon
What would have happened if the doomguy gave him the green crystal?
I really disagreed with the Slayer's choice in this. But ok, like a good dnd party, I'm with him
Same
Hayden did you honestly think that the slayer was going to help you after everything you've done?
That was a nice demon, giving doom guy a lift and saved him alot of climbing
You betrayed me I betray you nice, Doomguy
Can't betray someone you never were on the side of in the first place.
It's not a Doomguy from different dimension or anything, it's just Dark lord reincarnated with Doomguy's body.
The thing is the dark lord was always depicted with doomguy's body
You shouldn't have sent him back to hell Hayden... it only made him more powerful.
we wouldve never known without the captions
I still don’t understand how this is Hayden. Yes I’ve played the DLC but I guess I’m just confused, if someone could explain? And how Vega is the father?
@@Aether-Entropy okay gotcha, I’m a little confused on the fact Hayden used to be human. Based on Doom 2016, was he always Mayker origin even as human?
@@Aether-Entropy hmmm interesting, is there any evidence on this? Or is it just a theory?
@@Aether-Entropy okay gotcha. I appreciate the info, thanks bro
@@jordanstamey its canon that the seraphim intentionally took a human form as samuel hayden and had the fathers essence placed into vega so that they could continue to oversee humanity
@@jordanlippin3555 Also you can see his picture as his human self in 2016. (I forget which level exactly but its the same level where you meet him face to face)
Cool Video.
DoomGuy: Right back at ya, bitch.
For idiots: Samuel Hayden betrayed DoomSlayer in Doom 2016
It is sad to make Samuel Hayden as an enemy.
He really isnt an enemy samuel is just trying to save earth even if the things he is doing is wrong he still will try just for earth to be safe, but im pretty sure he will come back if there is another doom game since he was teleported away
Umm...are we just going to pass over the fact that the eye of the Ancient God looks exactly like the eyes of the goblins from Goblin Slayer? Wonder what else the second season of Goblin Slayer will display? LOL
But that also affected father/vega who never did anything bad to slayer.
VR Chat with big avatar be like
What would have happened if you would have given Samuel Hayden the green crystal?
WOW didn't they say that each custom has a back story something like that there other slayers
No.
No
Yes
how the turntables!
Why did he betray the father and seraphim??
Just have to wait for Part 2 for the answer to that. Even the codex is a little vague. Although, we don't really know for a fact that the golden one was the Father's life sphere. Could've been the Khan's.
Pretty sure he betrayed the father and seraphim because he really wants to kill the dark lord
I mean seraphim did abandon him in doom 2016
He wanted to say "fuck it" to bringing the father back to only quell hell's forces, and instead opted to bringing the dark lord out and ending it himself
@@SomeKindaSpy I have a theory that the large floating blue sphere is The Father’s
Edit: This did not age well at all
Oh, and God. He also betrayed God.
I just thought Maybe Doom guy from this universe was a dark Lord from the very beginning but was imprisoned by his brother Father ( VEGA) but later from another universe came our Doom guy that we know Father knew this and therefore did not stop him Because he is the only one who can kill him
Haha orb goes boom
N-no you can't just smash the orb of the god himself... the humanity...
Well, well, well... Hows the turntables?
Poor sam lmao
Getting nostalgia for Rygar.
The LIARS of trust save mankind is now dark lord death. From star wars Darth Vader and Emperor. Never trust anymore. Only Rip and tear until is done.
I didn’t watch gameplay of the dlc before this so how’d he betray him? Also doom guy is not the villain in this story. He does what he does because he has no choice
What was he expecting, this whole thing was kinda his fault, and he could've prevented all of this but didn't
I mean is it even betrayal if the betrayed betrayed us first ?
Hayden did betray the slayer first
Remember Doom 2016 being praised for short cutscenes that knew no one wanted to watch cutscenes in a Doom game? Hot did Doom Eternal completely forget that and fill the tank up to bursting with this crap fan fiction?
i thought hayden is smart enough to understand that slayer didn't work for anybody other than himself
To be honest Hayden deserved that
Are the Maykrs good or evil? I'm confused.
The maykrs responses only for they're business, they dont give a shit the human race, so yeah, they re evil for doomguy
@@bileygr1116 Thanks :)
Seraphim is samuel?
I guess that was payback!
yeah nice one putting spoilers in the goddamn title
This cutscene is the only good thing toward the end of the Blood Swamps, especially after fighting that shit show of a boss, aka shoot eye cubes while hell knights and pinkies attack you along with losing your mobility simulator. I hated that fight.
Why...... just why betray him
I didn't play the game, so can anyone tell me
In short, the Seraph was hella suspicious and the Slayer doubted if Father(god) would really do shit. Plus the Seraph betrayed him before so this is payback. The Slayer wants to revive the dark lord so he can kill him for good.
