When Doom Guy broke the fathers life sphere I thought did Doom Guy just kill God but then I thought to myself Doom Guy could’ve just destroyed the other life Sphere killing all the demons then I realized maybe it’s just a way to summon them
Yes it is, it’s not like oh you destroy that you destroy the person like if he wanted to destroy the dark lord why not their and then, plus big G probably already saw this coming and wasn’t worried for the very concept of God can’t be destroyed because it’s literally the source of everything and is everything so you can’t technically destroy God at all and even if you destroyed everything Big G will still be around, the dark lord however is like Satan he is 2nd on to Big G but can be killed but not destroyed, so by killing him do you take away his ability to return, but you can’t do that unless you summon him
Yeah, the "Book of Seraphs" talks about the Father worrying Davoth might one day absorb his power. I think that's why DoomGuy destroyed the Father's life sphere, so He could never battle Davoth.
The Slayer as a character is so great. In 90 percent of games your voiceless character would have given the sphere over to complete their objective. Not in this game.
A new khan maykr could only be chosen when the father was around, and with the father gone the khan maykr from Doom Eternal was in charge of the maykrs for way longer than she should’ve been. So with no way to select a new khan, the maykrs became dependent on argent energy, which was created from the souls of the demon’s victims. This resulted in the pact the maykrs made with Hell and the perpetual “war” that countless other civilizations got caught up and destroyed in. If Samur Maykr was responsible for the father’s disappearance, doesn’t that mean this was all *his* fault? The dark lord of Hell may be the ultimate evil, but if anyone’s the true antagonist of this series, it’s Samuel Hayden/Samur Maykr. Maybe that’s why the Doom Slayer destroyed the father’s soul sphere, because he figured that Samur Maykr didn’t want to bring the father back to stop the demons and save humanity. Maybe he wasn’t trying to bring the father back at all. Considering past experiences, the Slayer could tell Samur Maykr was definitely up to something.
I read the lore pages there was apparently a story here I’m starting to see a pattern from what I’ve learned Samuel Hayden = Samur Maykr Vega = the father Doom slayer = (don’t want to spoil it) and now after figuring it out I have so much questions for part 2
Yeah, I really didn't like how they continued the story. Doom 2016's story was so refreshingly wholesome. Doom Eternal's was a little more morally ambiguous because the Maykrs were just trying to survive after the Father (The Dead Beat Dad?) disappeared. By the end of Ancient Gods, everything felt different, like it was Ancient Greek mythology where every God was just some slimeball politician. It feels like Ancient Gods was written by some emo High Schooler. A really smart emo High Schooler, but still an emo High Schooler none the less.
Seeing this and hearing Vega talk makes me think the dude would say right after the Seraphim talks and gives Doomguy an objective Vega: You can use the sphere to bring back the dark one. This will allow you to kill him. Doomguy: Thanks Father >:)
God cannot come into human form but he is not dead, he is protected by the one who can kill him the Dark Lord (the red sphere). Doom wants to bring the lord to life to kill him and eradicate all the demons.
Things I still don't get: 1) How is the Father's life sphere in Hell? Maykrs would have put him there, correct? And they can't set foot in hell. 2) Why does the Father have a "trial" for reaching his life sphere that involves fighting demons? Isn't the whole point of Doom Eternal's story that God and hell DON'T work together? 3) How does the Seraphim meet you there? He says he can't set foot in hell. Unless that titan lifted you so far off the ground you were no longer in hell, but A) Samur says the sphere is in hell B) hell is supposed to be a seperate dimension, implying no amount of travel in any of the 3 axises of movement we use (width, length, and depth) could get you from one realm to another. EDIT: Okay, I think I get 1 and 3...sort of. Apparently the Igmore Sanctum was part of Urdak from which Hell was created so Maykrs can set foot there (not sure how this meshes with the revelation in the final boss fight but whatever). But how did he get there? And if Samur can just magically teleport to the Igmore Sanctum, why did he wait for you at all, why not do the ressurection himself? Maybe he arrived through Urdak, since Urdak and the Igmore Sanctum are somehow connected? Maybe Seraphim can't do the ressurrection of life spheres, the same way they have to allow someone else to do it? I guess that makes sense. Number 2 is still a plot hole though.
maykrs became corrupted by Khan Makyr, the father wanted them away from his life sphere so they won't be able to get his powers through the sphere. the whole demon trial thing is a protection, kind of. I think the seraphim is a powerful being, I mean he is god's right hand man for crying out load. still he is unable to resurrect the father because he is not worthy (the whole trial thing). and I guess the reason he can be there is because seraphims (ones we see at the ending of AGP2) are allowed in Sanctrum. this are just my assumptions and your guess is as good as mine. :)
