one of the great priveledges of my life was having the opportunity to run sound for at least 300 Ian Moore Band concerts in the '90's. Great guitarist, but I always thought his vocal control and phrasing were what truly set him apart. "Satisfied" still brings me to tears when I hear it and is a song that always brought the house down. I still vividly remember specific concerts, once at the Shiner Bock Festival when the Fabulous T-birds shouldn't have bothered coming on after Ian. THANKS!
Now Jacob's well was there. Jesus therefore, being wearied with his journey, sat thus on the well: and it was about the sixth hour. There cometh a woman of Samaria to draw water: Jesus saith unto her, Give me to drink. (For his disciples were gone away unto the city to buy meat.) Then saith the woman of Samaria unto him, How is it that thou, being a Jew, askest drink of me, which am a woman of Samaria? for the Jews have no dealings with the Samaritans. Jesus answered and said unto her, If thou knewest the gift of God, and who it is that saith to thee, Give me to drink; thou wouldest have asked of him, and he would have given thee living water. The woman saith unto him, Sir, thou hast nothing to draw with, and the well is deep: from whence then hast thou that living water? Art thou greater than our father Jacob, which gave us the well, and drank thereof himself, and his children, and his cattle? Jesus answered and said unto her, Whosoever drinketh of this water shall thirst again: John 4:6-13 KJV bible.com/bible/1/jhn.4.6-13.KJV
I remember that Shiner Bock festival WAY too well. left San Antonio in the midst of sever flooding to make it to Shiner for the fest, and Ian Moore making the trouble well worth it. Always loved Satisfied, Harlem, and Muddy Jesus.
Your comment made me feel all sorts of different kinda ways but in a good way if you can understand that. My son's father introduced me to Ian a long time ago he passed away on April 13th 2013 and every time I hear Ian I think of him the song that makes me cry is deliver me but I love all of his music 💔🖤😭💗
I am from Malaysia. I know about Ian Moore in 1993 when I was 15 years old. I'm into the music store and find a cassette. I first saw the album cover I thought he was solo guitarists like Steve Vai. Upon hearing the song I was surprised to find that song very interesting
my buddy used to sing this song when we played together in a blues band. He passed away almost 3 years ago but I still come and listen to this to remember him. I can still hear his voice when I hear this song🥀
Satisfaction is found within. True Love is rare in this fucked up world,It comes to you when you least expect it. So when it does appear hold it,but never sell yourself short.I would love to to see him perform;he gives me goose bumps. He is a true artist;also rare in this day and age.
great blues & slide. good ole texas boy. up there with zz top, stevie ray and all other texas blues singers. great guitar solo. true texas soul!!!!!!!!
Ian is one of the most underrated artists I've ever seen. But to really appreciate him you have to see him live at one of his good venues. Almost none of the videos I've seen on youtube so far come close to matching his performances at The Rhythm Room in Phoenix. He's unbelievable there!
This song was brought to me in 1997-1999 time frame and I can listen today and it pulls emotions I don't realize were there. I keep my emotions very guarded so this is difficult to listen to.
This is my favorite album I have been listening to it sense the summer of 2001after seeing Ian moore live at the stevens & Puritt motorcycle rally "DOHS" in lake summerville Tx. And it has finally made its stand i guess you would say against all the albums that i have put it to its just the sound the songs the words in his music r i relate to more everyday and the pic of his playing never gets dull in any way and can be enjoyed in any setting i love the sound of Austin Texas i hear in it
I saw Ian Moore open for Ted Nugent and Lynard Skynard, and to be honest I've never heard of him before that...I was so blown away, I rushed to find the CD the very next day...been a HUGE fan since
He opened up for the Rolling Stones and Bryan Adams in Atlanta in the 90's. Miss hearing him! Thanks for sharing! I had his cassette tape back in the day ;-)
Joy, you have a great choice in music. I wouldn't have thought you were old enough to know about cassette tapes. You look so young. This is a compliment.
I saw him a couple times, in Shiner and Houston. Amazing. In Shiner he got blown off the stage literally by a storm, Robert Earl Keen didn't get to play. I'm not disappointed.
I played and sang this song for my ex wife many times as well. Turns out there's more to marriage than romantic gestures. I still hope to win her back, she's my best friend but not together right now. This song will always be an all time favorite. It's one of the first songs I learned on a guitar I've owned for 30 years now. Saw Ian Moore once live, he's an underrated American music treasure as far as I'm concerned.
Ian and the original band will be doing 6 shows next month in Texas and Oklahoma, focusing on the 1st 2 records. For those of you that miss this phase, this is the time. dates posted @ ianmoore.com
I wonder what happened to this guy. He was super talented, great soulful voice. I used to see him play whenever he came to my city (Corpus Christi TX) which was fairly regular since it was only 180 miles from Austin
I saw him in Houston and he was better than ever; then a few months later he came to Austin and Houston again. He lives in Seattle, has a family and a band, the Lossy Coils. He topped Santana, ZZ Top, etc. etc.... in my opinion. Melted my face off. I was 3 people from the front row.
Kerry Lester What happened was around the time "Muddy Jesus" came out, he sort of disappeared. I used to live in Austin and someone told me that he didn't handle being the center of attention well, well because he is a mellow person I mean they had him doing TV commercials, shooting lightning bolts from his guitar, plus non-stop touring. I mean even though he was getting paid rather well, the music biz isn't for everybody. You lose your personal life with it a lot i hear. and sometimes musicians party hardcore to deal with it, Because the party material is always around, it is hard to get away from. And It is my guess that is why he moved from Austin to Seattle, he wanted to play, but not be a "star" That is what happened to Frank Marino (mahogany rush) He said fuck the music biz, and now he lives in Montreal, has a studio, and does audio restoration I am glad 1thomasjohn said he said he was doing good.I still remember that outdoor concert he did by the bayfront in Corpus Christi, when he did "Blue Sky" everybody just went nuts, especially the women !
Does he still play dates/gigs? I had a chance to se him in LBK, TX. But couldn’t make it....Damn gall surgery. I think when he was in this ‘lane’ he was spectacular, I wasn’t as in love with some of the music he put out after this....this was and still stands up as a sensational album!
@SouthernKudzu I knew a guitarist (passed away years back) who was a friend of Ian's and said, after I told him Ian's first record blew me away, that Ian didn't want to get branded as blues or rock guitarist or cater to record companies. Modern Day Folklore was 180 degrees apart (sucked IMO) from this LP and I haven't heard him on radio or TV since. Still, he is a gifted player with a gifted voice.
Well I have had the songs and burnt some CDs and night CDs he was someone to help me out the tuff times guess his higher power quantom physics and God dogm and love rAn some off he is cool ya know
I SAW HIM YEARS LATER ON SOME LATE NITE SHOW. HE CUT HIS HAIR AND WAS SINGING LIKE SOME KIND OF CROONER THAT YOU WOULD HEAR IN A 1970S VEGAS HOTEL BAR. I THOUGHT IT WAS A JOKE BUT NOTHING NEW.
LET ME IN MOMMA......AND WE'LL TAKE IT REAL SLOW.......I'LL SHOW YOU THINGS.........IF YOU JUST LET IT GO YEA YEA..........ALL I WANT IS TO KEEP YOU SATISFIED
this guy should go back and now and try some of these old tunes again, buuuuttttt, do them the same not different they are all very good,,the newer stuff re writtin stuff just doesnt have the same heart and feel, sorry.
It's a shame more people don't know about Ian Moore. This is one of the most beautiful songs ever.
BLUE SKY ❤
@@pam8962 Another great one, so relaxing listening to it....

Saw Ian open for Albert King at the Black Forest Tavern in Houston in 90 or 91.
Yes I agree his playing is pure soul , not trying to put as many notes in a bar as possible , just letting his soul takeover all feel
I remember that Shiner Bock festival WAY too well. left San Antonio in the midst of sever flooding to make it to Shiner for the fest, and Ian Moore making the trouble well worth it. Always loved Satisfied, Harlem, and Muddy Jesus.

so awesome, listened to this as a kid. my dad has great taste!! good "close your eyes, shake your head, and jam" music.
I saw Ian Moore open for Ted Nugent and Lynard Skynard, and to be honest I've never heard of him before that...I was so blown away, I rushed to find the CD the very next day...been a HUGE fan since
One of my favorite songs ever!

This song makes me think of the exchange between Jesus and the woman at the well.

Joy, you have a great choice in music. I wouldn't have thought you were old enough to know about cassette tapes. You look so young. This is a compliment.

I proposed to my (ex) wife to this song. Despite how that turned out I still think it was an amazingly romantic gesture on my part lol.
Scott McGregor lol
Scott McGregor Indeed lol
Scott McGregor Be still my heart. Mic drop, babe.
If you do say so yourself

Saw Ian in concert with The Rolling Stones and Bryan Adams at The Cotton Bowl back in 1977 ..
I wonder what happened to this guy. He was super talented, great soulful voice.
I used to see him play whenever he came to my city (Corpus Christi TX) which was fairly regular since it was only 180 miles from Austin
last I heard he trashed out. sad to say. such talent
Kerry Lester
What happened was around the time
"Muddy Jesus" came out, he sort of disappeared. I used to live in Austin
and someone told me that he didn't handle

FYI: Ian played guitar with Jason Mraz on his 2010 fall tour. Last I knew, he was living in Washington state.
Lives on Vashon Island (short fairy ride from Seattle).
Great News! Ian Moore now has this album as well as his other older ones, available for sale again!
He's still busy touring. Came to my town a little over a month ago (just outside of Boston). He plays mostly in Texas and Northwest US though.
Saw him raw at McGuffeys House of Draft in Dayton, Ohio!

Slingblade brought me here.
Not disappointed
He's playing Los Alamos NM tonight.

It's so sad he went soft. He had something great back when he was in his prime- great potential. I wonder what happened to him. He gave up obviously.
