For about 13.5k you can get north of 650whp. I bought mine used for 34k with 40kmiles on it. Did all the labor myself and and am at $50k with fully built trans and 636whp on e30. Just started revising the e60 tune and will be pushing around 700whp.. straight monster
I haven't dug into it much myself but my pal (who is shopping for a fast SUV) was saying he's not a 'ford guy' per se, but that it's pretty impossible to beat the ST for the reasons you just described! Have fun with that, sounds rad!
@@JustinPritchard I got 3 kids and mutilple tunes that all are drive mode specific.. so I can cruise down the road in eco mode to baseball practice @450whp , drop the kids off and switch to sport and making anywhere from 550whp to 636whp and gappp errrr body depending what fuel I’m running lol I’m about to get into internals of the motor and upgrade. I’m estimating I’ll be making around 720-750 whp when it’s all said and done… It’s a fun SUV for sure! And I’m still about 10k off the price of a new one!
lol its st by a mile when it comes to bang for buck i mean holy shit they are charging for the RT. To each there own not everyone cares for performance but ill give the durango some props that v8 sounds nice just not enough to off set how bad an st smokes it stock and lets not even talk mod for mod beacuse its n/a so its at a huge disadvantage and your gonna have to obviously get boost. With 5k Whipple intercooler, Downpipe, afe intake, zfg e50 tune and low-mid 11 sec ST. All around wipe for the st here, but a 392 is def a comparison, but thats like 10k-15k more then an st fully loaded and again for what it has no boost so your already gonna have to drop a lot more money again to get that performance for a lot more money then it costs the st. Maybe the rt gets that dodge twin turbo v6 engine though called the hurricane I think and it would help close the gap, but also lower the price.
Love how you omitted the third row altogether. The explorer third row is absolute trash. I watched this for that comparison specifically and you left it out. Innocent oversight I'm sure.
@@dearjohn8789they're three row SUVs dingaling. Some people buy these because they have bigger families. It's a massive reason to even be considering either of them. What exactly are you looking for in these two? The drivers seat?
@@dearjohn8789I'm a dad with a family so third row is important. These vehicles are marketed towards me. Apparently you're not in the market for these.
Great review between the two vehicles. No nonsense and straight to the point; thank you for making this video!

And in Quebec you'll pay about $200/year more for the Durango registrations.

I got 3 kids and like to go fast. ST for the win
@@GODZLLA_ST you just like to go fast. Kids came last there huh. Ford's third row is trash.
That Durango cold start had to have had at least a mid muffler delete lmao
Literally factory stock!!
I’m bias… ST all day long.
