  • In this Part 2 video you will see the installation of the shock absorber, the steering knuckle, and wheel hub for this right side control arm on this C3 Corvette. This is part of the restoration / refresh process for this surviving C3 Corvette. All the parts were removed, refurbished, new bushings, new coil spring, then installed back looking great with new parts. It's a lot of labor to remove, clean, restore, and re-install all these parts, but the best thing to do to upgrade this C3 so that it can be safely used in 2023/24 and beyond.

Two thumbs-up on this whole series of corvette videos! I'm just finishing up my front end rebuild, and your videos have been oh, so helpful.

That sounds kind of like my story with my 77. I'm the second owner and bought it from the original owner and everything was like it rolled off the factory floor and was gently used and maintained like a regular car, not like a cool classic C3. So, I decided a couple years ago to restore it. Ideally, I would have liked to have kept it on the road and just do weekend work, but once I got into it, it made sense to replace/restore all part that needed it and bring it back up to a different level or standard than when I first got it. It's a work in progress, but interesting and fun at the same time and one thing for sure....I definitely know all the ins and outs of this particular C3, which when I drive it, I know what I've got and how much time and effort went into restoring this thing. All good, thanks for watching the videos and sending in a comment. J

Thanks! I'm doing a full frame off resto of a 69 wide body. This video was perfect! My spindles didn't have the gaskets like yours when I disassembled them. Maybe something they added in the later years, but either way I am putting them on. Your videos are great to follow as I am re-assembling things. The manuals are good, but they lack the detail and pictures, which your videos help fill in. Awesome!!

That's excellent to hear and good luck with your project. I may to a frame off restoration in the future as I have a perfect frame sitting in my garage which I've had for 6 years . Thanks for the great comments and watching, very much appreciated. J

I'm restoring a 1982 Excalibur phaeton, custom frame with c3 suspension. Trying to get the spindle back in today giving me grief. I ended up lifting the whole car same as u did. Can't compress it enough to get a nut on both
