Hi Dean; Watched this late last night on the TV. Thought Uruguay were unlucky, they certainly had the chances to get a point or even 2 out of this game. Great looking kit too - sky blue and black - simple, but very effective. A different time back in the 70s, but wierd when you think that Subbuteo painted all South American teams as black players. The real game - LOL - Uruguay would be lucky today to finish with 5 players on the pitch. Have a great Christmas!
@@soitra Hi Darren, yes there’s a lot to unpack there. As I said in the video the game just didn’t flow, my eye wasn’t in! But on reflection Uruguay were unlucky to lose. The Uruguay kit looks nice on the pitch and yes all black players for South American teams when in reality there was more of a mix! And yes Uruguay have a bit of a reputation for cynical play, which hasn’t changed over the years! Have a great Christmas too 👍
Hello Dean. Been watching your World Cup 74 re-runs. Noticing that yer period football isn't running very true in any of the matches. Think yer Telstar Durlast (?) is a bit wobbly! Come on ref... sort it out! Happy Christmas.
Indeed Ian, that’s the beauty of re-playing the games, you never know if you’ll get the same results as the real thing back in the day, it’s like re-writing history 😁 The ball is the official Continental Subbuteo ball which had the black sticky panels. However the panels didn’t give the best roll, so I painted where the stickers were. The roll is still difficult to predict 😊 And a happy Christmas to you 👍

I cant remember if Holland had been tipped to do well before the tournament kicked off.
@robinma2000 No I don’t think they were Mark, but what a team. I guess Brazil would have been favourites. They had some great players as well.
