The Friday uploads in JANUARY 2025 are all covers of MICHEL LEGRAND songs - whilst I have uploaded my versions of many ML songs over the years, I am amazed that I haven't devoted a whole month of uploads to one of my favourite composers - particularly as this month will see the 5th anniversary of his death. In our 45 min we begin with a short 30 sec piece of opening music (usually TV or film) and then 6 x standards/ballads/show tunes/film music/quirks/Latin etc. We also like making the links and connections between the music/writers/performers/context as we enjoy the music together. We also look to the world calendar to see what people are celebrating on this day
