It helps Jason that he's already 24 years old. Remember John David didn't follow the courting ritual. He met Abbey at her church when his parents were speaking t h e r e. But he pursued that courtship on his own and the Duggars didn't know anything about it until he brought her home to Arkansas and said this is my girlfriend Abby. He was 30 at that point.

I can't see why anyone would want to marry into this family. JB made his fortune on his kids, who would want to have as many kids as possible and know JB will always be running the show, your life that is.

Just a side note - you can be a nurse without a 4 year degree - Associates Degree of Nursing (ADN/RN). A Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN/RN) is great to have to further your career and have more options, but either way, to be a Registered Nurse (RN), you have to pass the NCLEX.

I live in Washington State. The people I bought my house from are in a home church that neighbors described as “ the people were nice but cult like” they sold their house to move to Arkansas, because they wanted to raise their kids there around like minded people ….. really makes me wonder if they are Duggar groupies and IBLP

If one has to live only around "like-minded people" in order to raise their kids with integrity, ethics and morality, it seems the parents aren't confident enough to raise their own kids.
The world is populated by over 7 billion interesting, wonderful people of all shapes, sizes and skin colors. Naturally, we can only meet a handful of those 7 billion.
We raised our kids to be confident, stable and unafraid of the world. We encouraged learning history, science, etc and reading g whatever they chode. We raised them to be non-judgmental, kind, compassionate and to respect others. We trusted them to form the own boundaries and rules for their lives, because it is right. I'm pleased to say our "kids", who are adults are wonderful, caring humans.

I am a state licensed teacher and have spent 15 of my 20 years as a licensed teacher in the private school world. Both schools I worked at did require a college degree and/or teaching license.
In terms of teaching with or without a degree/license… it depends on the school. If it’s accredited and state recognized, you’re supposed to have some kind of teaching certificate which does require a college degree in most states. If the school is independent and not accredited, they don’t have to be licensed teachers unless the school requires it. Each state sets their own rules though so there’s room to disagree on this based on your experience in your state.

I noticed that Claire Langdon’s family is wearing designer brands like Lilly Pulitzer and Love Shack Fancy in the photos. These brands are extremely pricey so I’m shocked that an IBLP family is flaunting preppy name brands when this group believes in not being fiscally flashy. They look gorgeous but I’m surprised how up to date and trendy their clothes are.

My grandchildren are fourth generation Christian School students. That being said.. the Duggar's ideology completely disgusts me.. as much as the rest of you. Just hearing those boys talk.. seriously sickens me. 🤮 But to those of you assume all Christian Schools are the same as Dugger-world.. are very mistaken. Christian Schools (that are not affiliated with a cult) require their teachers to be just as college educated as a public school...many Christian school teachers also have their masters degree. BTW: If we can all be honest...most public schools haven't been doing such a great job educating kids.. either. My daughter had been a public high school teacher for almost 25 years. She has a masters degree in special ed. But when schools continue to expect teachers to lower the bar of student expectations every year.. that degree will eventully hold little value.
Ours also went to Christian schools and the teachers had to be state qualified with degrees and teaching certificates. I have heard of church-operated schools where they were allowed to have kindergarten teachers without degrees but at that time I don't think all the states required Kindergarten.
My step mother was principal at a private Christian school. She had no degree and neither did any of the teachers.
I attended Catholic School in the Bronx NY, elementary and an all Girls High School. The teachers were all college educated, some had masters degrees, some were obtaining masters degrees, one history in high school was obtaining a law degree at night.
Private schools are not required to have teachers with teaching degrees like public schools. Private schools do not receive any government funding. As is seen with the state of public school education, a degree doesn't make a good or qualified teacher.
@@tamymorgan4635 the Catholic schools in NYC archdiocese which extends from Manhattan, Bronx and Staten Island, Westchester, Sullivan, Duchess and Putnam Counties. To be a teacher you must have a college degree or higher, in education or education related field, be a certified teacher in NYS or certification eligible.

Inhad a friend who barely graduated high school and was a “teacher” at a small Christian school. Not an aide. A teacher.
Abby is an LPN, that’s only a one year degree. Just like Michaela got her LPN and has never once worked in a place she could use it except for home care of her grandparents. She just said on their last video they are still renting. That’s not a good way to manage your money especially with Erin and Chad they’ve been renting for over 10 years.
I’ll snark when it’s deserved, but in some areas of the country, it’s actually more economically advantageous to rent. My area is a toss up. I’m not sure what is true for their area of the country.

Yeah, that's not true. I'm from WV and our Christian school that I attended does get government money, not all teachers are certified and my kids still go there. Most are certified but definitely not all. My mom teaches some classes there and though she went to college, she has no teaching degree or certifications at all, yet the school still gets government grants. I think it just depends.
It's super disturbing the Duggars seem "famous" and sought after in the fundie community even after everything with Josh and everything. Super disheartening.
In Tennessee you do not have to have a teaching license or degree to teach. My daughter went to a christian school and i found out later that her teacher was "working towards one" but did not have one

I am from Connecticut. This family lived ( or lives) in Fairfield, which is very upscale and a bedroom community of NYC. Also, there are many colleges and universities in CT all over the state. I tried to find out where she may have gone to school, but the only school related thing I could find was about the MEN’s rowing team at Connecticut College, which is in New London. Conn College is an excellent school and is coed. Maybe she went there and they have a co-ed crew team. I just don't know. I certainly hope she keeps her teaching job and lives a life she wants. Fairfield CT is way different than Arkansas……..

The private Christian school I taught in was state accredited. All teachers had undergrad degrees and most - including myself - had a masters or above. Don't tar all Christian schools with the same brush.
In my area masters aren't required for private schools so while some teachers have them most don't. I don't think it was ment as an attack on Christian schools or teachers just an observation that private & public often have different requirements. There are also some states where public schools doesn't require masters in as short a time, it's so different across the country

I grew up strict independent fundamental baptist... My parents thankfully left the one super strict cultist church but unfortunately got sucked into another during my teen years. Thankfully my parents didn't follow many of their doctrines at home and I was encouraged to get a college degree and also served for several years in a different country as a missionary (huge no-no for most Fundy girls as it was not under my fathers roof... But he was secure enough to let me go)... Few years later... My Husband and I woke up and found our way out and my parents followed a few years ago. I'm still a Christian but am so sick of the cultish Christianity... Churchianity... Whatever you want to call it. I want a personal relationship and am so thankful I no longer live according to the standards set by man but simply live according to Scripture... Having grown up super strict Fundy I feel so bad for the Duggar girls... And I truly hope and pray the children wake up and find their way to healthy life and relationships!

True, although I believe most catholic schools now require their teachers to have at least a Bachelors.
I knew a woman who taught at a Christian elementary school. She made $18k a year. There is no way she could have held a Bachelors degree and been okay receiving that disgraceful salary.

I grew up apostolic-church and school. My parents made exceptions for pants if I was riding horses or playing in the snow.
Private schools/religious schools are often uncredited. If uncredited no standards or degrees required. If accredited then they have to meet requirements like degrees teachers. Catholic schools are generally accredited. Accredition also comes with recognition of high school degrees. Unaccredited schools often do not have a recognized curriculum and diplomas are meaningless. Entrance to further education will require entrance exams and standardized testing that isnt required for Public or accredited school graduates.

Have an Aunt who is an "independent" fundamentalist Baptist. Her husband threatened to divorce her years ago. Always growing up their daughters had to wear full length dresses(?). She had to change to keep from getting a divorce but very much was stricter than my parents. Pretty sure they are still part of the IBLP just not in a perfect role..

If my brief research is correct, she grew up in Fairfield, which is a pretty rich area (way richer than where I grew up) and went to Connecticut College, which is very exclusive. Kind of curious if that’s true, because I think it’s kind of a liberal school.
If DADDY says it's ok girls can wear anything, go to school or college, work and even date. It's up to Dad. At ATI/IBLP events there is a dress code.
In private schools teachers don’t have to be certified and don’t have to have a degree. If she went to college, and got married at 19 I’m assuming she got her AA
