  • There's nothing else like a shelling experience in the Caribbean!
In 2021, I traveled to Puerto Rico to find shells at some beautiful, and remote locations. This piece is the final episode from that trip...of course, I saved the best for last!

I actually collected quite a few Helmets during the first couple days of this trip, lol. The cowries were a total surprise as I stumbled upon a honey hole - love honey holes!
Thanks for watching, and coming along!

Enjoy all of your videos especially since you leave the ocean waves for us to enjoy. I saw so many shells that I’d love to find, hold & bring home. What joy it would be to be able to sit & look for the minis & walk the beach looking for shells. Living in North TX/DFW area I don’t get a chance to go to a beach. Your videos take me there and I appreciate you and all you do.

What great finds. I saw a gastropod a few times, white shaped similar to the star shell but had a brown stripe around the center bottom like a racing stripe (9:28). What is it? I only saw it upside down.

This mystery shell does resemble a Triton, though I think it actually may be a worn Apple Murex. In the Caribbean, Apple Murex shells can get much larger than they do in Florida.

Idk if you’d like to try cleaning some of those shells with acid, but here’s a video with how to do that and it takes off some of the calcification and the colors come through beautifully. I thought I’d share in case you’re interested. You scored some gorgeous shells! 😊
