  • Effort two!
These look superb and they will stay in this colour, I’m very happy with the finish.
Flicking the wooden stick is the technique I learned from this 2nd trial. Plus a toothbrush for all the fine dots.

As a regular sneaker customiser, my advice is to mix some 'Angelus 2-Hard' to your paint before painting it on the shoes, for better adhesion and longevity (won't peel or crack so easily) secondly you need to lock in the paint job once it's dry with an acrylic sealer spray 👍

Excellent, this is exactly what I wanted to know and had Started to research last night.
Thankyou - I’ll do the sealer spray, ideally though…I’m hoping to also find a paint on version, otherwise I’ll have to mask up the 4 shoes I did again…any idea on a tub to paint on?
If not, I’ll find the spray and I can do that as a final final stage with the shoes still masked up.
I’ll also look at this 2-Hard product and see if I can get this in the Uk.
I plan to do more paint jobs as I’d imagine people will want this.
      Appreciate your reply!

@@griceyboyno problem! Angelus Matte (or Gloss) Acrylic finisher gives decent results painted on with an angular brush (I use an air brush for a good finish) 👍

Good stuff ( i do respect the 1 to 1 very good work ) ...... the fan in me LOVE LOVE LOVEs the MAG, but the pattern cutter in me is a bit disappointed by the execution... ied changed so many things but the big thing I don't like is having all that electronics right underneath your foot! And also the straps they just moved too slow, the way the shoes lace up in the movie the very animation itself is what gives that scene probably 30% of its character. They really need to just snap and pop in my opinion anyway. Do you think it would be possible to put all that stuff in the ankle strap? If you can think of a mechanism that fits in I'm pretty sure I could work it into a proper shoe, that I'd be interested in doing, I wouldn't call it a 1 to 1 of the Mag,

      Hey there.
Thanks for the comment- really appreciated.
This is why you would buy the 3.1s or 4s, get the perfect looking shoe and the electronics in the rear. But £550-£1100 gbp a pair, so a lot more money and also kind of less wearable as most wouldn’t want to get them scuffed/dirty.
I have actually made one AliExpress prototype with electronics in the rear and the larger lipo under the foot, But easy to access (unlike the 3.1/4 which is sealed in - bad design).
I’ve got parts on order from China to make 15 more sets of these electrics, but they are just So slow as posting, hence why I got 15 sets this time. Once they arrive, hopefully this week, I’m converting one more pair to my new system, then I can trial two pairs.
Then if good, the system can be sold to others. It’s just simply more work to fit and solder, but it gives you usb-c charging function, larger battery, battery charge meter, and the parts are cheap!
Laces I can’t help, I did design one cheap system that was a basic copy of the v4, but I didn’t pursue any more versions. You won’t get the snap lacing part in a wearable shoe and I doubt it it would be reliable, as the v4s are prettt unreliable and they even say “not recommended for wearing” on the box.

@@griceyboy yer the 3.1 looks better :) the mag is definitely on my short list of stuff i whant to rip LOL 😁 😁 but i dont know electronics so ied need to buy kits or get sum help :)
If you where not restricted by existing shoes could you improve the function of the auto lacing feature? This shoe really is an inspiration piece for me it just gets me thinking about 1000 things.
Unfortunately for you the first thing I would do is dump the one to one replica of the movie prop sorry for the heresy but this is pattern cutting talk not fan talk. The best thing about this shoe is the high top cut and the power lacing feature, the lights are pretty flashy too but I would rank them a lot lower than the power lacing system.
This really seas it all to me so sad "they even say “not recommended for wearing” on the box." for the fan in me i think thats a bit rude !
You give me $1100 GBP ill make them hit 88MPH !
