I live in Bournemouth (Uk) and I’m a big car fan - especially DeLoreans, pre66 Air Cooled Beetles/Split busses, Sinclair C5s, 1980s/90s Porsche 911s and the Subaru Impreza STI/WR1s. I'm also into mechanics/electronics, and I am a big fan of Back to the Future (BTTF) and I repair/upgrade all versions of the Nike Mag.

Just a short vid, thanks all

Here’s the first listen of my brand new v3 muffler. It’s a new and improved design - new flexible elbows, new design main muffler and it’s good. It’s quieter in the car at low revs, and does have a different tone when you accelerate through the higher revs (very noticeable tone difference). The flexible elbows should reduce vibration and premature failure of the muffler. The muffler is also wel...

Those registration numbers are genuine. Were the C5's bought by someone to claim the registrations? Might be worth looking into that.
@@LordClunk hey, I’ll check with the owner (I’ll chase her up), I think they are just ends of old reg plates, for the kids to know which one they owned (just my guess, as that had 4-5 of them back in 1989)…
When did Netley Marsh up and move to Dorset?
@@iwb316 haha, doh - I see it’s Hampshire, I’ll amend that :). Great spot
Would you recommend cutting the front wheel guards for the Jon Webster brake kit?
@@problemchild1976 hey there, I reckon you go for it if you want it on and the original look . You can’t go back once you cut it, buy…there not rare parts and you’ll pick up another for £60/70 fairly easily. I expect someone will also 3D /resin cast in the future . To cut it - I unscrew the two halves, then you can place it onto the fork area and mark the caliper area with a pencil, then just cut with a jigsaw and find tooth blade.
Great progress! It amazes me how well the C5 shells hold up over the years! I had one that looked like someone had sat it in oil, a few hours later it was like new!
Love it mate If you wanna come do some of the lacquer peel on my Volvo 240 then I'll just drop it down haha
Did they once have the registrations assigned 6R and 8X?
@@poacher9118 hey there. So the family brought them over from Ireland, but I reckon it was just so the boys knew who owned which one. I’ve asked the old owners and she’s going to ask her aged mother in law to see if she remembers the history. I’ll post a new video on these tonight, as I just spent 3 hours cleaning them
Awesome find!
Amazing - seems like some real history there
Hello there! I’m going to leave the number plates on, as it’s part of their history (and in the original 1989 photo I have ).
Good wee project I've got 4 you won't make much money but brilliant to own , I take mine to car shows etc and charge for a wee drive nice little earner 🤞👍
Really looking into it you never know original owner wld probably be interested in it
Great video! Hopefully they aren’t too bad to put right 👍
Are the engine parts still available?
Hi there, let me know precisely what you need as I have sold much, but also got other parts now to sell (all at very reasonable prices as I’m not in this for serious cash gains ).
@@griceyboy hi brought my first c5 yesterday off ebay as a fixer upper the parts which I can see are missing are rear lights and the boot Part which I believe are broken and need replacing so far are the motor which I think might be seized (I think its the older brown one cause some of the gearbox clips are broken) the brushes plastic mounts are missing/broken, the brake handles the left ine with the handbrake is seized I believe the right is missing Thats as far as I've got so far
@@darthlovejoy3811 hey, Congrats on the purchase! You’ll have fun! Sadly, the rear light and boot are two of the three most expensive parts (in fair order ), boots tend to be £100 , rear lights tend to be £100 for a nice one or £30/50 for a cracked/chipped one (they chip very easily in the corners). Your motor isn’t worth refurbishing, best option is to find a used one that’s complete, and rebuild that - often £70/100 . If your gearbox is still good, then keep that as that’s a rare part. Get on my Facebook forum - (Sinclair C5 Owners) and post photos/wanted advert on there and you might get some offers . But sadly all these bits are the valuable bits. Handlebar levers are common , except the switch bracket . You’ll find these and i know I have at least one side (one has a handbrake, the other side is plain).
Hello remember me i saw you today in yout de-lorean you did thumbs up to me
Hey! Yes indeed, great to see you and Thankyou for finding the channel and commenting. I just uploaded a short video of the car, that I took today.

Thanks,, very useful information if I ever need to rebuild my motors! Most of the time I pedal my C5's as its very flat in The Netherlands! 😀
I’ve messaged you on Facebook 😊
Great job with the scoop looks spot on to me! Good luck with the MOT.
Excellent work! I think mine is bad on my 911SC, but it’s tucked way in the back of engine. Near impossible to get to. SMH.
Hey, after I did mine a couple of times in the Ultrasonic cleaner, it now works normally and no leaks (I do check it occasionally as it’s easy to access on the Dmc engine ). Good luck!
@griceyboy nice
Did you fix the spindle leak?
Hey, I didn’t fix that. I suspect they all leak some air there , purely by design. The injector upgrades seal system was my best purchase, the DeLorean Industries one, it’s a very good bit of kit.
Great video! About to do this myself with a seized motor
Once I cracked the seize on that large bearing, it spinned like a beauty. Good luck with yours :)
this is not setting the dwel - you are adjusting the fuel mixture. dwel refers to ignition, but you happen to be using a dwel meter to check the duty cycle of frequency valve
im glad i bought the VERSION 3 replicas. i knew the auto lacing feature was going to be problems if the motor ever stopped working on the version 4's
Defo need a set of these
I’ll be selling the grey prototype ones (Uk/europe ). As I don’t need them as my C5s are all done.
Hello do you have link AliExpress ?Thanks

Thank you!! The 3d prints of "MAG" the "NIKe" logo. Do you take them on AliExpress?
@@Mik2yout hey there, the rear Nike Mag letters are from Graham G, who is on the Nike Mag Repair Facebook group - you’ll see his posts and name there . But from him , he’s also sells a Mk3 Swoosh logo which is prefect.
@@griceyboy Thank you, I looked but the soles don't have a lot of splashes
@@Mik2yout that’s right / none of the £50 economy ones do, only the £600/1100 ones have the speckles. It’s so that they can’t be sued for copyright from Nike. Luckily , watch my other video / you can paint the shoes for about £11 in outlay, plus 2-3 hours of effort/skill. I have a few videos on this, watch my recent ones as I got the colour right on those. Plus i have posts on the Nike mag forum on which paints I used. The economy shoes are all about a base shoe, for you to upgrade to the spec you want . There’s many great parts now, I personally sell the upgraded Bubbles that you could fit.

New EU law dictates that all EV:s over 25 kg or go over 25 km/h need a motor vehicle insurance, even children's toy cars that travel 5 km/h. RIP Sinclair C5 and all the other like it. Insurance expenses can be ridiculous
Hey, lucky the c5 does 15mph, which is 24.14kph . But the weight is heavy, with the battery (if that’s included in the rule).
@@griceyboy yeah, battery is in the weight too. If you had built the vehicle yourself, you could use a tiny main battery, and add an auxiliary battery which doesn't add to weight, but per regulations, they just go by what ever manufactures says it weighs, and that is over 30 kg even without a battery for the C5 :/
Good job these fall under electrically assisted pedal cycles,
@@79ferret this is good knowledge as I’d be bloody surprised if you needed insurance on a C5!

Bonjour merci pour la videos jadore petite questions si possible ou je peux trouver les logo nike des languette svp ?
Hey, let me know in English :)
How could you to those expensive shoes?
I know, sad to do that but they aren’t designed to be fixed when certain things break. This is due to how the shoes are assembled / the motor and lacing mechanism just isn’t serviceable unless you take the entire rubber sole of the upper fabric part. But then the loom is short and in the way.
Nice
Looks great, impressively neat trim work!

If I had a pair of Nike adapt bb are you willing to transfer the auto leasing from the Nike adapt bb auto lacing shoes to the Nike air Mag version four
Hey. No- sounds like a lot of work and space is very tight inside these shoes :)
🤔i dont see how they were charging $5,ooo+ for shoes that don't have state of the art wire soldering that could last. lol McFly would be very 😡. interlocking jacks wouldve been more futuristic & replaceable. #ripoff
I’m actually going to do a video on the Pitfalls/negatives on these shoes. Just to pre-warn people I’m getting two reportedly mint pairs from Italy today, all faulty . So you’ll see these on my channel over the next few days….!(soon as they clear customs ).
@@griceyboy so let me ask...with your expertise with this shoe, if you wanted to create an auto lace feature of your own....would you be able to?
@@sigmaroyalty3883 hello there, So I did create my own version , it’s on an old video from a few years ago. It worked pretty well, was the same sort of concept as the v4s, installed into an AliExpress shoe. But it wasn’t wearable as the mechanism is to big and the AliExpress shoe isn’t deep enough to fit a mechanism into. So it’s certainly doable as a non wearable item , a fun show piece if you can’t justify the v4 costs. The v4s are amazing in one way, the actual fabric shoe , but the electronics are just unreliable and the shoe of course, isn’t designed to be taken apart or fixed . The seller should adjust a few things such as placing the battery and cabling into an accessible box under the inner soles. Plus a few other changes. The fault I found on Stanley’s v4 motor luckily seems unique so far, really bad soldering which fried the connector - luckily this seems a one off as this fault has absolutely killed the lacing aspect in that shoe - only way to get to the motor is major surgery and not something I’d do unless it was a total project shoe.
Why not trade with him a size pair 10 of 3.1s. lol....No Auto Lace Surgery necessary. Then you keep the non functioning auto lace shoe as a project?🛠 🔬
Hey, it’s a good idea , but finding someone with a similar used pair of the same size 3.1s is hard to locate. And for me personally, I don’t want a used pair of 4s, Vs my mint pair of 3.1s. Also doing swaps has that element of risk as someone has to post their pair first to the other person. Its just annoying that you really do have to take the entire shoe in half to get to the motor , as the mechanism is literally surrounding the motor (to protect it from the weight of the user). Sad times ;)
Looked like a great show, impressed there's no admission costs!
Hi how big are the red buttons my speed ribbon broken would these button work if soldered in many thanks
Hey there. Sadly I can’t tell you that as I did the bike up for a friend of mine . But they look spot on , I’ve seen them on eBay when I’ve looked for switches recently for other projects. Could be a 10mm switch, but you want the type that you hold to operate, as opposed to it clicking on and clicking off on a 2nd press . Hope this helps a little .
How much did you get them for?
Hello, to buy these new in the Uk, they cost £1050 from AirMagKing on Instagram. I repair shoes and I build custom AliExpress versions (a useable and much cheaper version). The v4 auto-laces are the coolest , but most unreliable.
@@griceyboy oh ok
