Types of hooks
J hook and circle hooks
Circle hooks is sub divided into two varieties
1. Inline circle : mostly use for catch and release practice
2. Offset circle : used for commercial fishing in forgein countries
For inline circle hooks we must wait for 5 to 10 seconds to set the hook to the fish so that the hook will just get hooked on the corner of the fish so that we can catch and release it . Just tight the drag and slightly set the hook for the perfect hooksetup
Octopus is not a combination of Circle hook and j hook
The eye is lightly bended it's because these hooks are designed for tying Snellknot (one of the highly recommend knot in world wide)
Even the points of the hook are also divided into two types
#1 : needle point
#2: cutting tiped point
Cutting tip point is pretty sharp than needle point which they can even penetrate on the bones of the fish too
Another type of j hooks you may know is

Bait hook with bait holder tips which they can the catch bait with there tips
