Tha GOAT 🐐 Resident Evil character. But for some reason Capcom has forgotten all about her since her story just stops in 2009.
I think Capcom just don't want to show Jill getting older. If she was in Resident Evil VIIIage she would be physically 44 years old (technically she is actually 47 by 2021, but her aging was stopped for 3 years due to her being cryogenically frozen after RE5: Lost in Nightmares).
The same is true for Chun Li from Street Fighter. Her most recent chronological appearance is in SF3 at the age of 31, but Capcom keeps placing the newer entries in the series earlier in the timeline, presumably to keep her looking young.
I'm sure Capcom is aware of how badly everyone wants to see Jill again, myself included. Here's hoping they're planning an epic return for her.

Jill and Leon have always been my favorite characters. They've very similar it fighting styles. They use a lot of kicks, and I have always been a fan of kicks. Taekwondo is still the first martial art I want to learn. I'm hoping when Covid ends and I am able to move I can finally start my Martial Arts journey instead of just following TH-cam tutorials and going off my experience in Taekwondo as a kid.

It's interesting she stabs with her knife instead of slashing like other characters do, you can notice this in Mercenaries, Remake and 5. In Mercenaries she does it extremely fast.

@thomasrodriguez5876 Jill has way more fighting and battle experience than Ada, Kid. Jill is Military Trained and a S.T.A.R.S. Member. Where as Ada Was used to be a Thug up until She meet Leon who alwaya helps Her bruh. 💀

This is such a cool video! Jill is my favorite video game character, but I never considered the various disciplines she must have under her belt. It's been implied that Chris and Jill were training specifically to take down Wesker, so it makes sense that RE5 would be the game that showcases her martial art skills the most.

I think out of all the main character, Jill is the only one that stay true to how she looked like, unlike Leon, Chris and Claire.

Jill’s combat abilities have been shown way early than RE5. In RE1 remake, I recall there’s an idle animation of Jill performing an axe kick - this was in footage showcasing RE1 on GameCube though. Unfortunately, this animation was cut from the game.

I always felt like her taekwondo and gymanstic skills in RE5 were a product of that device on her chest. That somehow it gave her new physical abilities and skills. She always seemed like more of a solider before that.
She fought very similar to that in Revelations, which means she had those skills before the device.
The device amps abilities it doesn't grant h2h knowledge and soldiers are trained in unarmed combat so I don't understand where this Soldier type is coming from.
Well you aren't completely wrong tbh. Jill's movements became more swift after the device. But without it she knows the skills but can't use it really fast. Also through the device she did gain a lot of new skills. It does seem like that. But she probably knew those but those just got amplified.

@@Godzillarex I don't know if you're in the US, but if you are, you should check out Shoufactorytv, they have some Ultraman, Super Sentai and Kamen Rider shows. In january they will have one of the most recent Kamen Rider series, Zero-One, and I think you might enjoy doing a "how many fighting styles" on that series, because the choreography is pretty fucking dope ;)

It's the easiest to execute. Far more theatrical techniques exist.

It would be interesting to analyze Kryptonian martial arts. There are two we know of, Klurkor and Torgasm-Ro. In the comics, Lois Lane was a master of Klurkor during the Silver Age, and we've seen a number of Kryptonian villains (such as Faora-Ul and Del Im-Re) using these martial arts as well. In the various Superman movies we've seen enough examples of Faora and Zod using these techniques that you could probably take a shot at analyzing their moves.
That sounds interesting but I don't typically analyze fictional martial arts precisely because they are fictional. Anybody can make up the techniques as they go along and just say they fit in. Nobody really knows what those styles are as you usually only have drawings of techniques at one point in their execution.
It would be interesting to see Jill's styles Vs Optimus Prime styles, how it would go against one another, and how they'd synergize when fighting together...

Interesting video. Thank you. Just a few observations: gymnastics isn't a combat sport, nor a martial discipline. Hand-to-hand combat is taught both at military and police training -- technically aren't fighting styles, but combat disciplines. When you talk about "fighting styles" it usually means a school of martial arts or discipline. As a practitioner of martial arts, the difference matters. How you fight, is different to the way you fight.
I'm a fellow martial artist too, I would never be able to make these kinds of videos without that first hand experience. I know that gymnastics isn't a martial art. But it's a fighting styles video. Not a how many martial arts video. Sometimes they overlap. But sometimes a character turns something innocuous into a fighting style - but not a martial art. Spider-Man and Jill both turn Gymnastics into that. They appropriate moves from gymnastics into their fighting style, hence the name. I think Jake Muller and Albert Wesker are the only hand to hand fighters left from the resident evil games that are really applicable for your series…. The rest of the heroes and villains are very basic kicks and punches combined with guns and blunt weapons.
And also I'm not going to lie I would love to see a video on how many fighting styles does Dante from Devil May Cry No Virgil and even Nero
I do plan on analyzing Dante! I just don't think I can get to him yet. It's one of those videos that is going to take weeks to make like Solid Snake due to the sheer amount of entries and movements to break down.
Oh believe me I understand where you're coming from I get it I've always felt the same way like there's so much that Dante's moveset that there's so much of it to unpack and even in a way I hate to say it it really all depends on how you would do the research on Dante's moveset because I get it he's one of those characters it's kind of tricky to like understand what is like be understandable moveset because I know each game also impacts that idea of what goes into like all that research other sources of media that are linked to Dante's character overall

Unfortunately, Chris and Jill didn't perform well enough to justify analyzing another Resident Evil character. Leon was the only one who got great views.

you didn't include her combat style in Resident Evil Resistance (knifing enemy + front kick + reverse roundhouse). She also have finisher move using melee weapons there. And also her fighting style in Resident Evil RE: Verse.
Her Resistance moves are at the end of the video.
Lol could have used those skills in the arkaley mountains incident lol but no all we got was stun gun and daggers when the zombies grab you
Remember, there was further training involved between entries. Most of these officers were petrified during the Spencer mansion incident.
