I bought the bottom with calls, so I'm already up 100 to 400% on things like TSLA, META, etc... Cashed out of a lot of them to switch back to more cash and actual stock since the calls act as a multiplier for gains and loss. So, I really don't give a shit what happens next. :) Although I would prefer up. :P
Buy great companies led by great people. Dollar cost average, forget about trying to time the market. Those who do are speculators and very, very few of those are successful over the long term.

As a trader, you can see moment in the market as the time start selling. But as an investor, right now would be a time not to add to your portfolio. Wait until things start looking bad again then add. Be sure they are quality companies like Apple, tesla, Nvidia etc.
Ken: please write a book (or video series..) in which you systematically list down your knowledge. Your legacy. The truth. You'll find buyers, no doubt. It is hard as an average Joe to connect the dots between macro and micro economics, fed policies, investing, stock market, bonds, money flow, etc. ... a comprehensive guide that touches base on all topics to make them wholesome would be awesome.

Market typically bottoms 6mo BEFORE the end of a recession. It’s a forward looking instrument. Nobody knows for sure where we are at in the cycle. But if you wait until a policy shift or 2% inflation we will be well off the market bottom already.

Yep, I'm DCA into the world markets but speeding up a bit now, once everyone decides to get that cash back in it'll go up, better to be early than late, if I'm early I just watch it go down before it comes up is all, no leverage of course though.
@@Alumnikiid inflation stopping does not mean prices go back down, I too think we are in for a really hard time and investments will likely go down more but I also think the panic sellers have done selling so markets will move sideways for a while but up and down with traders , the second the Russia business looks like being resolved markets will jump, I want to be aboard already rather than waiting to time that exactly .. But no one knows what's round the corner.

I averaged in over time and got some buys at 110, 120, 130 140 etc
And btw ken, I had an alert on trading view for the vix that I set almost 8 months ago which we just hit, saying that if we hit this target, it's time to sell stocks because I knew everyone will be in extra greed mode. 😅

He offloaded his shares at a high and is in a situation where the stock can hit 400, and he wouldn't have lost anything. His advice doesn't apply to a lot of us.
You can stay DCA-ing. Nothing wrong in that. But, never deploy all your cash so you can buy the dip more. It's like a mix between "timing" and "time" in the market.

How is the recession boat sailed? Fed also told us inflation was transitory yet rents still 30-40% higher than 2020.
