Brilliant review as usual and not a mention of "Scratchy Plastics" when are reviewers going to realise we don't care about scratchy plastics or whether the bottle of water will fit in the door pockets etc.
Brilliant for seniors!!! Love mine. Perfect hip height, radar and fingertip control saves your knees. Amazing in stop-start start traffic, lots of safety warnings, short enough to park in tight spaces. Fun on open roads. No fussy interior. If you like fancy interiors just choose a seat cover. I have AWD hybrid in cloth as I think the fleather option is ugly. Had it 6 months and so so happy .
Great review. I´ve one Auris 18. Hybrid 2017 but I did the test drive with the yaris cross and I was very impressed with the behavior of the engine, much more agile, faster to increase in performance. The interior is weaker in terms of equipment, but the important thing is reliability and in that field... it's impeccable. If everything goes as I hope I hope to buy one
Amazing review! Purchased the Icon Trim in October - love this car! Haven’t looked back since. Friends and Family love it too! Always get questions from other drivers when parked
Wonderful review, I purchased mine after listening to this review and now that I have it and listening again it is so much more relatable. It's a beautiful car. I made a good choice.
Fantastic review I have seen my fare share as I like the car and am considering buying one. But I have never seen a review this well done, All of the information I could have possibly asked for and then some dumbed down in a way I can understand and follow. Thank you I absolutely loved this review.
Great review but B setting does not provide more battery re-gen it’s an ENGINE BRAKING mode for use only in severe downhill gradients to prevent brake fade ….sorry but every review of Toyota hybrids gets this wrong.
Correct. It actually reduces regeneration. A lot depends on the length of any falling gradient, not just it’s severity. I’m used to one of the older Yaris hybrids with only 0.9 kWh traction battery capacity, and it doesn’t take long to fully charge it on some of my routes. No doubt the larger battery on new ones would be better overall.
seems like none of these review channels take time to read the owners manual, imagine how many people are driving with B thinking its boosting regen..smh
Thanks, very useful information about this car. The specs I have seen suggests the turning circle is more like 11.2m not 5.3m (10:22). Several users state that B mode transmission (48:30) is to engage engine breaking on long declines. Apparently that avoids excessive wear on the mechanical breaks during long declines (where regen braking may fully charge the battery, switching regen braking off, causing mechanical brakes to be applied for long periods).
Had mine for 8 months, great car for two people. Or if you have a couple kids. Had one for 8 months. Good on rough roads and very good on fuel. Very well specced for technology, even reads speed limit signs.... One thing, the B selection on the transmission is not for ordinary driving to get more energy into the battery. It is purely for brake saving when descending steep hills. I have never used it.
B gear selection is actually worse for economy - it keeps engine on while slowing down. I'm a 10 year Toyota hybrid driver. Only use B for going down long inclines to prevent brakes from overheating.

What’s the mpg on the motorway and the mpg around town?

Best review I've seen to date.
Thank you !
Great review. I ordered the Adventure trim AWD version in October and will be taking delivery in Italy in the next week.

My friend has just bought the petrol version, but I’m thinking the hybrid version is significantly better.

Yes I had read up on that B bit misleading by some reviewers so I knew it was for going dwn hills really. Enjoy
Did you have the AWD version? Reviews say the suspension is on the hard side which puts me off.
What a great review very detailed. I ordered mine in January 2022 and the eta is the 29th June 2022.
Thank you!
Superb detailed review!
Thank you very much!
I come here to improve my spoken English. This gentleman is very eloquent. Thanks for the reviews.
Wow, thanks!
@6:51 Its NOT a belt driven automatic Transmission. It's that hybrid technology with MG1 & MG2 from Toyota connected with planetary gears!
great host and review!
appreciate that! Please do subscribe!
Why is the steering wheel on the wrong side? Has this something to do with the hybrid system?
:)
Great review. I'm waiting for delivery on my Excel version with added JBL sound system. Can't wait!
Hope you enjoy it!
Enjoy! Sadly the JBL option is no longer offered when configuring the Yaris Cross.
great in depth review.
thank you
I hear Toyota are bringing out a Corolla cross which I might wait to test drive as I find the seats a bit short.
Apparently corolla cross not coming to UK. (Local Toyota dealer)
So avoid the city pack and get a larger more useful higher resolution screen...normally with packs you expect an upgrade not downgrade?
Might get mine in June !!
Will it come to India?
Great video.
Do you have any info/experience with only petrol engine? 1.5 125HP.
How tall is this guy?
So no space saver spare wheel option at all? Never used it but for peace of mind 😌
The irish version gets a spare wheel but not UK sadly..frustrating.
Great video on my next car 😎...but the 2023 edit

Please bring this car to South Africa !
This review is the equivalent of when your trying to reach a word minimum when doing an essay :D hahaha
At least 6 airbags must be in the coming Yaris Cross an Indian government-ordered new law on high ways compulsory 6 airbags must
Please launch in INDIA .... TOYOTA YARIS CROSS
Why did they put that design for km/h. If it wasnt in color, it would look very old type.

Sounds pretty noisy
Get rid of that low hanging muffler... Toyota can't leave the 80's style on that point. 😂
Far to noisy
