I have a bit of carpal tunnel and what helps me bunches is 1. Switch back and forth from continental and English. 2. To wear a wrist brace while I knit and 3. Keeping away from lace and purling as much as possible haha 😅
I'm with you on the ease of knitting vs. sewing. I learned to knit during Covid, as sewing (I do consider myself an expert) was too demanding and exacting under stressful conditions. I am still not sewing as much as before, as the knitting has really taken over!
Amen about the sewing! I stopped sewing as much for the exact same reasons! I love how portable my knitting is even if it is a larger sweater. It is nothing compared to the mess and stuff when I see. Yes, I hurry too
Would love to have you over in Scotland! You'd be very welcome at our knit night in Edinburgh so whenever you come, make sure you plan your Monday evening to be full of yarny goodness :)
I finished the Franconia Dress recently by Cashmerette, very similar look to the one you made but it has a shirred waistband. I like that it tucks in at the waist but because it’s elastic, it’s still super comfortable. You’ll love that serger, makes your sews easier to make and wash, a real game changer
Me, too. In my school most of the girls had to take Home Economics- which included sewing, cooking and a little bit of design/color theory while most of the boys had woodshop!
Hey. Greetings from the Himalayas in India where I live and knit. If you make it over here I am happy to give you advice and show you around Dharamsala. I just spent some holidays, in Ladakh, what is knitters paradise. Got my frist spindels with some yak and Pashmina vlies feom tge nomads. So time to learn spinning. Have a lovely week. Thanks for your beautiful videos
Scotland is truly magical. Its the only other country I've been to besides Canada. Best trip of my life! I really want to visit all the Nordic countries (Norway, Finland, Iceland, ect), that part of the world just seems so epic and gorgeous, and lots of woolly goodness to be found!
Kaci, i just love your knitting and sewing projects ! You said you had made the Estuary skirt from Sew Liberated. Seing the dress you made, i think you can look at the Hinterland dress, same pattern company. (I love this dress pattern, this is my go to , i already made a dozen 😂😂) . 😘😘
A lovely episode! The piano music for the cup of tea section was beautiful. I love your aesthetic and how your music choices compliment it - always inspiring. ♡
Lovely episode Selma! So great you could take a break from work and spend time with new creative projects which are so motivating and exciting! The fabrics for your bags are vibrant and fun- maybe you will start up your ETSY shop again? The tea cosy turned out very nicely too, since white wool doesn't usually felt completely. Your tolsta tee is so pretty with the random thick and thin stripes. A trip in the fall to Spain also sounds like it will be rejuvenating. So happy for you!
I can't do thursdays without you anymore :D Love all the wonderful knitting and sewing plans as usual! Also, you reminded me I need to get all my patterns printed !!! I am so excited to see you in a couple months' time
Love the pants idea! I don’t sew yet but i see more and more knitters sewing! I have a colleague at work who is sewing and we had fun crafty chat during lunch! Enjoying your podcast from Korea btw, you should visit my country 😊 but not in summer because it’s also hot and humid 😅
Have u ever knitted w roving? I cant believe u were in the 60s or 70s. U r not as old as me. I had to learn sewing. Ugh! Always look forward to ur vlog. Thanks for sharing.
I enjoy your podcast so much, Kacie! Your calming aesthetic is everything I need to knit with. Just curious, what are the songs you used in this video? They're so peaceful and I would love to add them to my knitting playlist. 😄 Thank you for your lovely content!
I am a sewer and a knitter and I am currently sewing a new project bag using the Grainline Studio field bag pattern which includes grommeted holes to manage yarn when knitting. How is that for sewing and knitting crossover??

All of your projects today had a similar color palette with the light green and the rusty browns! Nice combo, modern and unusual.

One day! ❤
I’m older. When I was in junior high and high school we had ‘home economics’ classes so we all learned basic sewing & cooking. ❤
Me, too. In my school most of the girls had to take Home Economics- which included sewing, cooking and a little bit of design/color theory while most of the boys had woodshop!
Love your dress! Beautiful!
Just love the background music!

When sewing, I spend way more time ripping out than actually sewing. 😂
