UPDATE ON MY EAR : I ended up going to the hospital by ambulance 2 days later. Released after a couple days with Labyrinthitis of the left ear. (Inflammation). Taking steroids & hopefully it will get better in a few weeks. Not life threatening & I'm just slow & wobbly. Thank you all for your support & concern. I have all the help I need thanks to the awesome Adventure Agents & Diego. Money is not a problem. Love you all

Good to hear that 😅! I just found the channel tonight, actually it was my wife that found it. I have been watching all the videos with you Al. It is so inspiring. What a life you have had and so much Knowledge. Man, I could write two pages about all the memories and thoughts I get watching you. I'm from Brazil, currently living here with my Canadian wife. I lived in Canada for 16 years but we moved to the country side in Brazil five years ago. We (my wife makes it happen cause if it was for me I would just be hiding here) have a channel, Chale Vale das Cachu, showing our journey building and planting since we moved to Minas Gerais/BR. I'm not gonna keep it much longer now but I have subscribed and will follow from now on. You guys are the best Al, Diego and Patrick. Already went on Amazon and bought the book - The Terrible hours. What a joy you guys have given me! Wishing a fast recovery Al. God bless you. Great job Diego!!!

I am 23 year old guy who was born and raised in San Antonio Tx. I can do anything except express my love for the way that you live your life sir. I do not know if you are spiritual but truly I believe this is the way God intended us to live! I was born in San Antonio but raised in a small town right outside of it called Helotes. My parents were fortunate enough to have a ranch in Rocksprings Tx. My childhood was full off running up the hill on our property to the top of the spring head that fed the whole spring system on the property full of waterfalls and ponds. Even till this day it always amazed me to think so much beauty came from such a small bit of water coming out of the ground. Now I am 23 going to university full time in San Antonio and working full time as well at Discount Tire. I’m saying this because I feel as we weren’t meant to live in a city environment hustling and bustling constantly trying to get better yet never being satisfied. I believe life is supposed to be so much more simple, I plan on finishing my degree and pursuing my dream of running my own car shop. Yet I would genuinely love to one day go away to a cabin in the woods just as you have done sir it is truly beautiful!! All my love and all my peace sir my God keep you strong and young!

Diego! Get two nuts (not locking nuts) for each screw on the rail setup and put them between the log and the rails. When the setup is adjusted to height/level, just lock the nuts together by turning them opposite directions. The rail wont be able to move or unscrew itself and its easy to dismount it. Hope this helps! :)

Is there something we can do for Al's ear? Your community would be able to raise enough money in a few days to get him to a MD for an evaluation. The loss of hearing affects many things related to balance and movement, which is critical for the older population. I got $50 on it.

Seeing what that curvy log looks like inside makes me think what an amazing way someone could make a living, just searching for downed trees that have character; like burls and stuff, to make boards from and to create valuable items with. Diego love videos.
On the two piece ladder brace that you are using to cut the faces of your beams, try putting nuts on the threaded bolt you're pushing into the top of the log that way you can snug the nut up against the face of the bracket and keep the bolt tight.
You should get a couple of larger diameter logs to roll your logs on that you're going to Mill that way they're off of the ground and you're not having to bend over as much.
Keep up the good work be safe.

A couple of ways to fix your adjusting screws. The easiest is to just put a nut on the underside and lock the setting with it. A standard hardware item is a half machine thread and half lag thread if you want to go that way. Use your grinder's cutting wheel to cut a slot in the head to screw it in or double nut the top and drive it in with that.

Hey diego, you might fix your out of square by fixing your position when you are milling the side of your beams ! You should stand on the beam or with your feet on each side of the beam, with the trigger of the chainsaw right in the middle of your body. Then, you just have to hold the trigger and, the chainsaw just verticaly, and drag it the lenght of the beam. Nice work on those beams, they are better then the HomeDepot one !
