this is stupid advice. you can repurpose landscape into portrait exactly the same way as the other way around. the only difference is that with one way you loose data left/right and with the other way you loose data top/bottom.

When it comes to repurposing videos, landscape-oriented videos remain more versatile.

@@SourDoughBill and that's where you are wrong. it might have been true 10 years ago when most screens had a landscape resolution. but in 2024 most screens (smartphones) are portrait. i could agree that it doesn't matter anymore and that's exactly what i said. the future is now, old man.

When a video may need repurposing, shooting in landscape is arguably the better choice.
(And your "Old man" is not unlike the response one might hear from a two-year-old when corrected by an adult.)
