Fascinating journey through the sketchbook. It was absolutely no surprise regarding the delightful results of your pen drawing studies from Alphonse Mucha - knowing that you greatly admire the Art Nouveau period, must have felt right at home! What really caught my attention was the small study next to the Rodin sketch (23:36) - I think I recognise it: it appears to be a copy of the Capitoline Aphrodite. If there is an amphora next to her with a cloth draped on top of it, then it's certainly that. The pose is very similar to the neoclassic Venus Italica (can be even considered a gesture continuation) - only the cloth is held by the goddess in the Italica version, usually with a small and decorated box or amphora beside her. This is why I'm guessing your sketch to be the Capitoline. I enjoyed your tour with the detailed and honest explanation, and am looking forward to your next video. Have a great week and let Art flow freely! 🤟🎨
Thank you! Yes it's definitely one of the pages I enjoyed doing the most, I wish I could get my hands on a book of his drawings and studies to study... You're correct for the statue! Here she is: fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Aphrodite_du_Capitole.jpg Have a great week too, and thank you for your thougtful comment 😊
Thank you 😊 I can't tell you because I haven't chosen yet... The first module (Drawing Foundations) is common to all tracks so you don't have to decide for a long while. After I finish it I'm going to follow the Figure Drawing I module, because they're still opening the modules for interactive and that's the next open module. I want to stay within the interactive and this module is part of 2 tracks I have been considering: Illustration, and Figure painting.
It is difficult. Steve Huston had a great suggestion in one of his courses, that is to simply aim for 5mn a day. Don't aim for more, and if you skip a day, on the next one don't try to make up for it, just try to draw for 5 minutes; as you build the habit and get into the drawings this may increase naturally, enjoy it, but don't ask yourself for more.
Love your sketchbook page 22:38 ❤
Thank you! It's a lovely memory too, I had a lot of fun drawing these 😊
The pears are beautiful. I love sketchbook tours. Merci beaucoup.
Avec plaisir 😊
