    You had me at "Histories Greatest console" Being the Master system.

      Genuinely considering doing a run of stickers for that :D

    Brilliant video mate and hard to argue with any of those choices. I'm a big fan of Enduro Racer for one and don't think there's a bad sonic game on the Master System (with the exception of the Brazilian exclusive). Thanks very much for the shout out as well.

    My absence excuses:
    Basketball Nightmare - Life's too short for sports games that aren't based on the only good sport.
    Lion King - Have it on GameGear, plus (as explicitly allowed in the rules) already have "The Jungle Book".
    Shanghai - Have it on Lynx; which makes me cooler than you, and yet somehow, not happier...
    Crash Test Dummies - I've got nothing. Sure I had it on GB at some point, and didn't like it. Perhaps I enjoyed the money?

      That Lynx version is actually based on the same Activision original so totally acceptable. I fully accept Crash was the "Out there" choice :)

    Wonderful little line up! While I didn't own an SMS I do still think it had the better graphics compared to the NES it just unfortunately lacked RPGs 😞

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว

      And unfortunately those it does have (Phantasy Star / Golden Axe Warrior / Ultima) are all way too expensive for a list like this.

    I know this video is older but a great video. Thanks for the info on Enduro Racer. That is one of my favs on the old SMS and now I need the Japanese version..

      Sorry! Although it's not TOO bad to get a cart.
      If you're emulating of course there's absolutely no excuse.

    Great list to use as a checklist of games to get! Also I like the sound of the practice difficulty mode.

      Oh try it, I wasn't kidding. For reference, I got Timberwolf to complete it when we were at the Centre for Computing History. To give you some idea if this was on Amiga, it'd make a great demo disk.

    Lovely stuff! Interesting to hear the 60Hz of the Shanghai music... a bit frantic!

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Of course because I did that capture during the week off the SG. I actually don't really know the music because I played most of it just through OBS' screen between other jobs so no sound!

      @@Yesterzine Ahhh, as a OneCreditClassics afficionado I'm used to the soothing sounds of PAL Shanghai... not this panicked remix!

    You've sold me on Basketball Monsters and Battle Outrun, and got me curious on Crash Dummies and Lion King, though I may swap the latter for Aladdin

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's a fine choice, it was just a smidge too expensive to make it. If you're not working strictly to a budget it is one you should have.

    Cool list. Master System games aren't this readily available here in The Netherlands anymore. Have a full set nowadays anyway. It was my first real console even as a child (after having the Commodore 64 as out family computer). I had about 12 Master System games when we got the Mega Drive: Sonic, Sonic 2, Alex Kidd in Miracle World, Shinobi, Super Tennis, Golden Axe, Golden Axe Warrior, Miracle Warriors, Dragon Crystal, Heroes of the Lance, Populus, and ehm can't think of it right now.

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a pretty good average quality for a random selection of games.

    Quality vid there bud 😄 if someone had said to me back in the day that shanghai would become one of my fav master system games i would of thought they were mad 🤣 great list, got to have enduro racer 😄

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I was tempted to find a pretty modern PC version of Shanghai but I'd feel I was cheating on it!

  • @JimBlimey

    I'm uhhh not going to comment on Lion King at all 🤣 Full agreement with you on Sonic Chaos though. No cex around here, but I do have Cash Converters (where I got my SMS2 from for £40 - all cables and two pads), got an unboxed Action Fighter for a couple of quid too.
    Also lucky to have a retro shop too with lots of SEGA stuff - got my boxed with manual Populous there for £12 (they do unhelpfully put the price sticker on the actual paper sleeve though). This seemed to be the average price of the games there. I'm more than happy using my SD cartridge but I sometimes think about getting some more favourites, having Alex Kidd in Miracle World as an actual cartridge would certainly be a novelty for me.

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Populous got considered too but I tried to bias towards games you'd want for this machine specifically and this wouldn't be the first choice for that. Same went for stuff like Sensible Soccer that's bloody great on SMS, it's just better on SMD.

  • @ChrisFranklyn
    @ChrisFranklyn ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm in the Micky Mouse was more fun on the SMS camp... even though the MegaDrive one was gorgeous. I tried to play along, with the video but everything I wanted was well expensive on the CEX site.

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, I certainly had to make some choices. All the shooters and RPGs were pretty much out unfortunately. If this was an emulation list then Phantasy Star, Power Strike and lots of games that aren't "P S" would have been very much in with a shout.

    Some great affordable suggestions there, I've never heard of battle Outrun Before And As a huge fan of the original now I want to play it , Also love marble madness, I've had it on multiple systems over the years but never played the master system version

    • @Yesterzine
      @Yesterzine  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah, very few have heard of Battle Out Run. Released in only a few regions for one system. So if you're making a list for that system it's gotta be on there. I *think* Marble Madness is related to the EA published one of the 2 Mega Drive ports.
