Thanks a lot, I became a fan of yours. Do you have videos in French either? I’d recommend them to my mother, she speaks French, but unfortunately doesn’t understand English at all. Or could you please add French captions?
I love your videos! Would you please recommend travel shoes for long days of walking around cities? I don’t want to look frumpy and wear sneakers! I have all sorts of cute comfortable shoes, but these would still be very hard to walk for long durations while traveling as opposed to getting around town and work. Help!
That frumpy outfit is like a uniform for so many women over 60. Go to any shopping mall and they all look like that! It screams "I've given up and I just want to be comfortable" lol
In Australia I could not wear jeans in the summer, days are 35-40 degrees celsius. I would love to see you do chic styles for the really hot days. I loved the new outfit, beautiful update!
I have done several videos about staying cool in the heat Belle 😃 I wore linen trousers when I lived in Mexico in 45C heat and was cool and comfortable - as the summer comes on I will be doing more videos for summer styles 😘
Same here in southern Nevada -- I do not wear jeans in the summer. I wear cotton or linen dresses and long bermuda type pants (and thin-strapped Birkies).
I love That Not To Wear and must have seen every episode twice. One thing sticks "pattern texture shine' If not that exactly, It's a basic concept used in all kinds of art. Easy to do, ask :will this outfit look more interesting with a textured sweater rather than a plain weave? Like that. Plus, I remember Stacey telling one contributor that she looked like cement. I remember that and sometimes notice that indeed, by choices are that so I quick change something. An example would be a neutral beige pant and then a beige top to go with it. no no!
Love this. And -- I have a very large belly/tummy. TRULY, I look worse with any blouse tucked in at all, even a "french tuck" draws all the attention to my tummy. Would love tips on how to not look frumpy when you have a large belly and weigh 30 pounds more than you wish you did, Marie-Anne. Thanks!
I have a number of videos for that - if one technique does not help there are plenty of others th-cam.com/video/FakOT1fYxCI/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/m2D2hSrPCsU/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/QSu7xb6iwFw/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/EqTAjEV3Pb4/w-d-xo.html

My experience with talbots denim skirts is that they are exceedingly well made and tailored. I have one I bought 2 years ago. I absolutely love. And they are having a BOGO sale 50% right now. Worth checking out. They also had some nice linen suits.

Because of you , I have dumped my crops, paisley, thick strapped Birkenstocks ( I kept the thin strapped ones), big florals and everything else I thought was frumpy.
OK Marie-Anne, but when I know you are not looking, I am still going to wear my Birkenstocks once in a while, but only when I am really sure you can't see them.....lol I used to Iive in San Francisco, with the Flower Children and still have my Hippy bag that came with peacock feathers as the decoration. Although I wouldn't personally buy that purple-pink-orange blouse but I think matching it with a straight cut high waisted pair of jeans with the blouse tucked in would look great. Add a brown crossbody handbag with a gold buckle, pointy white or gold shoes, some pretty gold earrings and a chunky gold necklace. I think it will make good.

I laughed out loud at the Hobbit feet comment. 🙂 This was a nice video and makes me think that one on 'how to do florals over 50' might also be very useful, Marianne. So many of us love florals and a bit of colour but it's easy to end up looking like a sofa.
I like that floral and think it goes well with Marie's coloring. But I agree about the fit of the blouse. I really don't care if one element of my outfit is passe so long as the fit and color are good. I also wear vintage jackets from the 40s, 50s and 60s. With modern items. Its my style. Hello Marie-Anne i don't often comment all your videos are so helpful I often wear jeans or cropped jeans Would like to wear skirts not sure what blouses or tops to suit the skirts for the summer Thanks Maria-Anne
Wow Marie-Anne, looks so much better. I'm an ex Finn migrated to Australia over 30 years ago. In Finnish there is a word lumppu, which means rags or unstylish clothing. Went shopping with my son and he said:' Look at all these frumppu clothes, where are all the stylish ones? I had to laugh because even he has been listening to me long enough to know what frumpy is and making it a new word. Great video, nice and short to remind us French chic ladies never to be frumpy.❤❤
The purple blouse is similar to something that I picked up without trying on. You are correct. It makes me look boxy and I must admit I did wear it with the same Birkenstocks. I don’t feel happy while wearing….it needs to go. Thank you.
Hello Marie-Anne, thank you for the video. Could you please post the correct link for the blouse? You have posted the pair of trousers twice. Thank you, Martina
I absolutely love that pretty pink blouse and I went straight to the link to see if I could get it. Unfortunately Talbots don't have it in my size but I've found a very similar one on another website which I've ordered. Crop pants have been a no-no for me for a few years now in spite of them being cool and comfortable. And as for big flowery prints, I'd rather cut them up to make shopping bags! xx
I agree right up to the Birkenstocks. I have worn my Birkenstocks for 49+ years now. Never giving them up. Wore Birkenstocks before Birkenstocks were cool.
Marie; you're! Exactly! Correct. My sister dresses like that I've been trying 2 help her; and she's older then me You've! Helped! Me! Alot! Th💘Nk! Y💘u! 🤗🤗🤗 👍👍👍 💘💘💘
Two of my sisters dress like the purple outfit and look SO frumpy....but they will not be swayed when I gently show them the difference from frumpy to fabulous by sending them Marie-Anne's videos. We're all short (5 feet tall) but they still keep choosing frumpy outfits like crop pants and baggy tops! Some people apparently don't care if they're frumpy...they've never learned you can be comfortable AND chic and that comfortable does not have to mean frumpy. 🤷♀
I laughed out loud through the whole thing. I hear “if it’s not a wow….” In my head every time I look at something. l made a few mistakes with fabric (not holding shape) but my pared down wardrobe is now finished. I need a few belts, a few scarves and an orange pair of flats and it will be rounded out. I found my eye for fashion and quality again after many years of ignoring it. So much fun! Thanks M.A.
What you said about "curtains" made me laugh - I say to myself whenever catching myself trying on paisley, other strange patterns and/or colours and those square shirts: Oh dear, look at you, trying to hide and look like a pillow on the sofa? 😅
Love you Marie-Anne ❤Love seeing you express your genius with fashion with your beautiful sense of humour 😂 You cheer me up every day!! I listen to your videos (even the old ones) when driving between jobs and always feel happy listening to you ❤
I’ve learned a lot and this is only the second video that I’ve seen a few. I am very short as I told you I’m 73 I do not have breast. I had breast cancer and I didn’t have chance to get implants so I have to wear a fake bra sometimes I don’t want to wear one. I have a problem with shoes also cause I have a bunion so keep on sending these please
On point! Recently, i lost a lot of weight & so now tuck in tops. But for many years & for lots of us, that just doesn't feel like an option. Any alternatives? 😊
I'm loving those statement necklaces you're wearing lately. Thanks for mentioning wide leg trousers. Was wondering what your opinion of them was. Back in my day they were called elephant pants. In ready to wear they can be a bit tricky to find where they aren't too wide, though. Always so happy to see a new video from you!

Agree with you the fresh look of modern floral is so much better ! The pants are nice as well - I would choose an off white or cream,
😘
Haaaaaa on my gosh love this. Especially the sucking the life into a mummy part haaaaa awesome.
😃
I absolutely love that pretty pink blouse and I went straight to the link to see if I could get it. Unfortunately Talbots don't have it in my size but I've found a very similar one on another website which I've ordered. Crop pants have been a no-no for me for a few years now in spite of them being cool and comfortable. And as for big flowery prints, I'd rather cut them up to make shopping bags! xx
Well done for shopping around and getting something you like Steph 😃
Helpful as always. Thank you, Marie-Anne 😊
🤗
This was an excellent video and entertaining! I love the French language you are adding to your videos!!
Glad you enjoy it Laura 😘
“Nothing really can save the outfit…” you are very funny and wise 😂❤️!
😃😘
Wow the black sandals made the outfit for me.
I agree right up to the Birkenstocks. I have worn my Birkenstocks for 49+ years now. Never giving them up.
Wore Birkenstocks before Birkenstocks were cool.
I didn’t know about them until recently. They look comfortable, but they’re so ugly!
@nomado3650 Pretty is as Pretty does! 😍
But I am a 75 year old hippie from Southern California sooooo 🤷♀️
Marie; you're! Exactly! Correct.
My sister dresses like that
I've been trying 2 help her; and she's older then me
You've! Helped! Me! Alot!

Send her the link June 😉
Two of my sisters dress like the purple outfit and look SO frumpy....but they will not be swayed when I gently show them the difference from frumpy to fabulous by sending them Marie-Anne's videos. We're all short (5 feet tall) but they still keep choosing frumpy outfits like crop pants and baggy tops! Some people apparently don't care if they're frumpy...they've never learned you can be comfortable AND chic and that comfortable does not have to mean frumpy. 🤷♀
Great video Marie Ann you inspire me xx
🤗
I laughed out loud through the whole thing. I hear “if it’s not a wow….” In my head every time I look at something. l made a few mistakes with fabric (not holding shape) but my pared down wardrobe is now finished. I need a few belts, a few scarves and an orange pair of flats and it will be rounded out. I found my eye for fashion and quality again after many years of ignoring it. So much fun! Thanks M.A.
That is wonderful 😃 👏
Just changing to the white slacks and the tucked in purple shirt looked GREAT!
🤍💜
Love your videos and your humor 😀 and Coco, the frump inspector 🥰😂🫶🏼🐶
🐾
I just bought a pair of white wide leg jeans to play with for spring and summer. I love how they go with everything!
🤍 I have done videos on that Kristina th-cam.com/video/afKSYksE5Ow/w-d-xo.html and here th-cam.com/video/YBvk5IQtdiM/w-d-xo.html 😘
Great advice, thank you Marie Anne. ❤
😘
Excellent advice and so amusing, which will help me to remember it! Thank you!
I think the fun gets the point over much better Angel 😃
What you said about "curtains" made me laugh - I say to myself whenever catching myself trying on paisley, other strange patterns and/or colours and those square shirts: Oh dear, look at you, trying to hide and look like a pillow on the sofa? 😅
😃👍
The pillow bit made me laugh! Good point!
Love you Marie-Anne ❤Love seeing you express your genius with fashion with your beautiful sense of humour 😂 You cheer me up every day!! I listen to your videos (even the old ones) when driving between jobs and always feel happy listening to you ❤
Merci beaucoup - I am very happy my channel resonates with you 😘
I’ve learned a lot and this is only the second video that I’ve seen a few. I am very short as I told you I’m 73 I do not have breast. I had breast cancer and I didn’t have chance to get implants so I have to wear a fake bra sometimes I don’t want to wear one. I have a problem with shoes also cause I have a bunion so keep on sending these please
🙏 I am sorry to hear of your situation Cecilia but I hope you have been given the all clear 🙏
I like the way you transform from a frumpy to a stylish look. Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it Vivien 😃
Great video! You sure got my attention in that purple outfit 😂
😃
Fun to watch! (My step-mother dressed in that frumpy style even in her forties!).
Glad you enjoyed it Linda x
On point! Recently, i lost a lot of weight & so now tuck in tops. But for many years & for lots of us, that just doesn't feel like an option. Any alternatives? 😊
I have a number of videos for my lovely larger ladies Liv 😃
Great video Marie-Anne, very helpful and inspiring. I've already got my smart outfit for tomorrow worked out, based on this video😄
Yayyyy 🙌
I'm loving those statement necklaces you're wearing lately. Thanks for mentioning wide leg trousers. Was wondering what your opinion of them was. Back in my day they were called elephant pants. In ready to wear they can be a bit tricky to find where they aren't too wide, though. Always so happy to see a new video from you!
🤗
First time looking at your site and I loved it. Thank you for your chic ideas.
You are very welcome Kirst 🤗
