Another stylishly chic video with great suggestions. Instead of tucking in the sweater completely or just in the front, the edge all around can be rolled up to reveal a hint of a belt. Sometimes, I wear cardigans like that. I like creases in my jeans & cords, so I dry clean them & have the crease put in. I prefer dark wadh, black, white jeans; in summer & fall, light wash jeans. I prefer white leather sneakers because they make the rest of the outfit pop. Instead of sneakers, I wear various types of oxfords, monk shoes (double buckle) & loafers (with/without tassles, penny loafers) or boots with chunky/low heels. Your outfit is perfect in every way; the tote is a great match. Happy to see you back! Missed you!!!
How you breakdown the frumpy to chic steps are so helpful! Enhoy the quick videos and tips. Thank you Marie Anne for the suggestion to size up in jeans for more comfort and still look modern. Recently I did just that and was so pleased. I was thinking that I might need to tailor for a better fit; (flat bottom) maybe not now. At 75 I still wear jeans; high waisted as you suggested in another one of your fabulous videos with belts. My biggest challege are shoes because of feet issues; most of the time I an in sneakers; occasionally loafers with lots of foot cushioning.
My mother, who is chic at 83, says this all the time! 'Are you going to yoga class?' 'I didn't know you had gone back to ballet.' She has only one pair of trainers, for going on walks. LOL.
Genius. I love the swoped look. I always think of you when I get dress. I tell myself "what would Marie-Ann change. You are so helpfull. Thank you. We love you❤
If you had a belly you needed to hide, that frumpy thing works. That’s what the elastic is for to make a bubble for the belly. If your belly is small enough no one will know it’s in there. Your fitted sweater would likely show it, some people don’t mind people seeing it or looking 8 months pregnant at 50+. Some of us don’t. lol
Only problem is when they look like old longjohns, underwear with long legs of that should never be visible ... some leggings look good, others do not.
I wear thick bicycle leggings for warmth when I walk the dog. They're snug enough that they actually improve my shape 😮. But I always pair them with a top or jacket that covers my tush.
@BuzzyStreet trust me when it is really cold I may wear both a short pair of "bicycle pants" made of silk, wool or windstopper and a full length pair with thick wool socks beneath quilted trousers.
I use the "Birkenstock-Style" Shoes at home instead of slippers. You have to choose the right size so the part of the end will not hurt you. I've been using them for at home since a child. I guess this has to do because I was born ans raised in Germany and Birkenstocks have been always a thing over there😂😂😂. Wish you a lovely Sunday evening!
Your face today is radiating, tres chic! You look comfortable and happy. 😀Thank you for this fun video. PS: I love your expression when you say "Acrylic". hehe. Same here!
Happy New Year Marie-Anne! Those shoes are the worst in my opinion. Great transformation! Still very casual but so much better. I’m loving your belt. 🥰
So funny, I am wearing jeans with a grey turtleneck! Before French chic, I would have been wearing leggings on the bottom and hating my look and outfit. We have snow, melt, and salt so I wore boots outside. I truly do feel better in this more chic outfit - and I was not wildly overdressed for my two lunch companions. One size up in the jeans actually gives me more confidence with a better fit. Your program really has been life changing ❤
It’s funny how even one thing can make your style better. The outfit looked better just by changing the sweater. Everything after just kept making it better. I love my Adidas Samba trainers. They are slim and comfortable. I found a pair in burgundy with pink stripes. So much cuter than Birks.
OT: (maybe) how to tidy up the house in less than 30 minutes (when surprise company is coming). The HOPE sweatshirt is good if you are cleaning up the house in and out.

Wow, I am amazed. Very good example of an outfit where all pieces are not nice. The pants look like diapers underneath, the top is a colorblind sack containing potatoes long ago. The shoes I don’t know what to call them. Many giggles from me 🤭
LOL Marie-Anne in Birkenstock slip-ons! I hate to say it, but you look American with the baggy sweater and leggings. And I am American. But I don't dress in this sloppy version. I will tell you a funny story: I flew first class from LA to New York last year. I was dressed nicely and neatly, even though we were taking a red-eye. My friend, whose airline status we used to get the first class tickets, was dressed like your frumpy lady in this video - clean and comfortable, but with slip-ons like yours and just frumpy frumpy. An airline employee stopped her from entering the first class check-in line, while I just walked in. She told me that that happens to her all the time, that she gets challenged getting in the line for first class. I said nothing about what she was wearing as that is her choice and none of my business. But to me it did show the difference in how one is treated based on how one dresses.
Very nice. Those ugly leggings 😂 I didn't set out church clothes for this morning. I grabbed olive trousers, a celery cashmere sweater, and an olive blazer. Added Jude colored shoes and an Hermes scarf. Called it good and ran out the door. I got so many compliments on my outfit. 😂. All because of your channel.
I’m 75 and still wear jeans. Wearing them isn’t a question of age but you have to find the right style and size. I’m a size 10 (sometimes 12 - depending on the brand) and I just love wearing my high-rise jeans with a nice shirt or sweater, a smart belt and a blazer. Even my 16-year-old grandson tells me I look ‘cool’ . Go on, dear Miriam, be brave❣️
I am nearly 75 and still wearing Jeans. All my trousers are in a Jeans style for summer as well as for winter, also in corduroy, because it is warmer And I wear Leggings underneath against the cold and the wind. 😮, ❄️☃️
No Marie-Anne, jeans are not a comfortable exchange for leggings, especially if you have some weight around the middle. I would much prefer to exchange the leggings for yoga pants. You denigrate the elastic waist, but it is not - always - a sign that someone has let themselves go........ but I DO agree - those 'before' shoes are hideous and I see so many women wearing them.
Great changes to the frugly (frumpy + ugly) outfit to the chic and casual update. Those leggings and oversized top were definitely too much material and didn’t enhance anything.
Your sweater is too short for me I have a long waist - plus I can't ware wool it makes me itch - colour is good. I do have to ware thermal leggings under my trousers here in the Alps if I am going outside.
The shoes you wore in the beginning look like normal house shoes in my eyes, but the sweater looks horribly. The Leggings may be useful for the gym, haha😂🤸⛹️But the Video is very funny and makes me smile. The week may arrive! 🙋♀️

A classic: If the garment looks frumpy, I'll look frumpy. Well done, Marie-Anne. That sums it up!

You are very welcome Bobbi - if you can't wear heels watch here th-cam.com/video/3nCJhlWchFQ/w-d-xo.html
Thank goodness for french chic to the rescue! 🙏🏻❤️
😃👍
The cashmere jumper, jeans and sneakers are lovely. The Hope top is hideous 🙂
Love this. Love the step by step replacement of pieces. You look great 😊
I like the finished look. Love the color of the sneakers, with matching belt.
My Mother used to say that leggings are not trousers....Thank you for this great video.🥰
Your dear Mother was correct Sandra 🙏
My mother, who is chic at 83, says this all the time! 'Are you going to yoga class?' 'I didn't know you had gone back to ballet.' She has only one pair of trainers, for going on walks. LOL.
This shows very well how straight leg jeans are so much more flattering for many figures than tapered skinny jeans and leggings.
Happy New Year, Marie-Anne!! I enjoyed this step by step process and wow - what an improvement!! Love it!! xx
Marie Anne, I just love that outfit, casual and elegant at the same time❤
Genius. I love the swoped look. I always think of you when I get dress. I tell myself "what would Marie-Ann change. You are so helpfull. Thank you. We love you❤
I had an oversized woolen sweater. Now my hb wears it to clean the stables and he is smitten to wool and cachemir 😀
Great video! And the tone of your hair and make-up is so flattering. You look fabulous!
Merci 🤗

Always perfect! Love your style…❤.
I love that belt!
Leggings, the thermal variety have a firm place in my wardrobe - and under my trousers. Because it's winter and I feel the cold. 😟
Only problem is when they look like old longjohns, underwear with long legs of that should never be visible ... some leggings look good, others do not.

And a Happy Sunday to you too 😘
always simple adjustments that are great.
Your "after" outfit is a huge OUI for me! You look fabulous as always! 👌🏼
I love watching your vlogs. They’re fashion conscious for women over 60 and also just so funny sometimes.
Your face today is radiating, tres chic! You look comfortable and happy. 😀Thank you for this fun video.
PS: I love your expression when you say "Acrylic". hehe. Same here!
Merci Marie-Anne pour cette démonstration époustouflante, très convaincante et pédagogique ❤
😘
Perfectly explained. ❤
It's certainly a drastic change with the second outfit.👍
Even the frumpy outfit looked good on you! But as usual you nailed the chic one.
😘
Happy New Year Marie-Anne! Those shoes are the worst in my opinion. Great transformation! Still very casual but so much better. I’m loving your belt. 🥰
And a Happy New Year to you too 😃
I recently bought corduroy pants for winter one size larger and they are very comfortable and warm.

Great video, Marie-Anne! I know you really dislike Birkenstocks and I thought maybe you’d borrowed a pair to illustrate frumpy shoes😂
😉
I love your videos.
That's a great demonstration!🎉😊❤❤❤
I am glad you liked it Happy 😃
Your finished out fit is great though it might work!!
I size up on outfits when there is a good sale and I'm not sure how the smaller size would fit. If jeans, sometimes I can shrink it in the dryer.
Marie-Anne: I love when you teach how to level up the ordinary to become the extraordinary! Merci!
Wow, I am amazed. Very good example of an outfit where all pieces are not nice. The pants look like diapers underneath, the top is a colorblind sack containing potatoes long ago. The shoes I don’t know what to call them. Many giggles from me 🤭
😃😘
Miss Marie-Anne your outfit is perfect darling and cool style too my Beautiful Teacher l love you 😘❤️
Merci Hector
You're welcome my sweet queen
Bonjour, vous avez la silhouette pour entrer votre chandail dans vos pantalons, mais une personne avec une silhouette en A…?
I am very grateful for you making these videos. French women will always be the icon of elegance and sophistication.
lol 'the mind boggles'!!
😃
LOL Marie-Anne in Birkenstock slip-ons! I hate to say it, but you look American with the baggy sweater and leggings. And I am American. But I don't dress in this sloppy version. Is the trend for turning up jeans just one fold up? An inch? Or does it depend on how it hits your ankle?
It depends on your leg length. Short leg =small turn up.
I’m 67 and feel I may have “aged” out of jeans? What do you think about older women in jeans?
I think they can look great if they wear them well Miriam 😃
I’m 75 and still wear jeans. Wearing them isn’t a question of age but you have to find the right style and size. I’m a size 10 (sometimes 12 - depending on the brand) and I just love wearing my high-rise jeans with a nice shirt or sweater, a smart belt and a blazer. Even my 16-year-old grandson tells me I look ‘cool’ . Go on, dear Miriam, be brave❣️
I am 78 and wear jeans. Unfortunately one has to try on very many to find the right fit in both the waist and hip.
I am nearly 75 and still wearing Jeans. All my trousers are in a Jeans style for summer as well as for winter, also in corduroy, because it is warmer
And I wear Leggings underneath against the cold and the wind. 😮, ❄️☃️
Que penser des manches 3/4
Leggings only belong under my skirts or dresses
Slippers have no character!
From California 1/12/25
Your outfit looks nice if you don't mind raising your arms which I do a lot. I don't want my midsection showing.
Just wear a nice tank or tshirt underneath.

How about calling the footwear slogs…….half slippers and half clogs and completely ugly.
If I sized up trousers the butt would be baggy 🤨

i know but is comfy at home, Birkenstock not for me

That sweater (sweatshirt?) Is the single ugliest thing I've ever seen. There isn't a single redeeming quality about it😃
Werte Videoproduzenten, die Verwendung von musikalischer Untermalung könnte professioneller werden. Als Anregung gemeint.🕊️
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this video and the lesson you taught us!!! Thanks @MarieAnneLecoeur xoxxo
I am glad you enjoyed it Carolyn 😘
The shoes you wore in the beginning look like normal house shoes in my eyes, but the sweater looks horribly. The Leggings may be useful for the gym, haha😂🤸⛹️But the Video is very funny and makes me smile. The week may arrive! 🙋♀️
