As far as I've seen, it's commonly accepted that "VSD" refers to a Victory-class star destroyer. If you're talking about a Venator, you just say "Venator."
I love the battle of Saleucami. The Republic actually using their entire fleet, and not just throwing Venators in full rampage. I mean, i love the Venator and their turbolaser sound, but come on, you cannot just throw a fleet of Venators and kill everything... right?
At 6:30 you can see the Separatist's fleet size: it composed of 1 Providence class, 7 Lucrehulk class and 21 Munificent class... and Anakin wants to breakthrough that blockade only with 3 Venators class and 3 Preta class? oh come on ain't no way he's gonna succeed..
Depends on how operational the Muunificents are as they hardly were sent in for refits or repairs. Though overall I agree. But then again, there was the chance he’s tried this before and lured the droid commanders out of position. Which wasn’t the case this time.
The return to the Resolute following the Battle of Saleucami is one of the most soothing things ever. The force theme in full blast to announce a well done victory. Sure, Grievous escapes, but all Jedi return home and I don't think there were many casualties on the Republic side. One Arquintens with a skeleton crew at least plus probably one other light cruiser
The Arquintens light cruiser it was 325 meters long Moff Gideon's was a modified Arquintens command cruiser, 381 meters, plus extra weapons and a hangar
Yes and no. Gideon is using a modified Arquitens-Class Light Cruiser called the 546 Cruiser, though I’m using modified lightly as it’s definitely a lot bigger since it holds at least 8-12 TIE’s and has room for a Lambda shuttle. It’s more of an in between for the Arquitens and Acclamator.
No, because none of the Clone Wars battles matter. They're pretty but pointless. In Rebels, especially the latter three seasons, those battles are important. Atollon in particular is a masterpiece of a battle that is far better than any space battle in C!one Wars.
I love all these scenes of Bane's ship getting destroyed, then you get the three seconds of him getting away with the hyperspace rings, to be like "by the way, he escaped"
I know it's fiction and all, but one thing I don't understand with these planetary blockades is why don't the protagonist travel around the other side of the planet? 5:53 My bad.
I heard there are hyperspace lanes that make them go to a specific spot/destination when exiting hyperspace. And that’s where fleets are usually hovering around. Cause they know anybody who comes out of hyperspace will end up there.
Its partly because the hyperspace lane ends at a certain point, so the blockade only has to cover that one entry point. Its also because it usually is not enough to sneak through a blockade once. To actually land ground troops on the planet, support them with orbital airstrikes and bombardment, and to keep those troops resupplied while bringing back the wounded, you need to constantly pass through the blockade in both directions with cargo ships. This is how blockades work in the real world, like the British blockade of France in the Napoleonic wars and of Imperial Germany in WW1. Some ships were always able to sneak through, but never consistently enough to actually invade or trade through it. Edit: If the heroes moved to the other side of the planet, they might get through once, but they will be followed by the blockading enemy ships the entire way, and will soon be forced to either fight or flee. It might work for this one-time supply run to the planet, but they would take damage doing it, and would need to reinforce the planet again soon enough, requiring another costly blockade run.
Every battle was planned by Palpatine. So every time the Republic got oofed in, it was to decrease favor from that group, and increase favor to Anakin’s group who were absurdly successful.
In Canon it had 8 heavy dual Turbolasers, 2 medium dual turbolasers, and 56 point defense guns. Compare that to the Imperial 1, 8 ultraheavy dual turbolasters, 60 ion cannons, 60 turbolasers, and 10 tractor beams
The centerpiece of the Venator's firepower is in its starfighter complement. Ofc, not to say it doesn't have very versatile weaponry to begin with, but its primary strike capabilities is supposed to be the Y-Wings and others that it carriers.
0:25 my personal favorite Star Destroyer scene, one VSD going "I don't give a fuck" and destroying 8 enemy ships by itself.
For some reason I interpreted VSD as Victory Star Destroyer and not Venator Star Destroyer.
@Alduin the Anti-Dragonborn 100% thought the same thing, VSD stands for Victory Class for me.
Plot armor

You can. And if it works you should.
Of course you always can you have plot armor after all
The Empire: Yes
I mean, the Separatists learned in Season 1 that throwing Munificents at everything ain't gonna work 😂
@@Yeahimman32 The plot armor sadly didnt save the Resolute

3:23 - Huh. That’s the same kind of Light Cruiser Moff Gideon has from Mandalorian season 2. Never knew it was used since the Clone Wars.
Gideon uses a modernized and upgraded variant that may also be larger than the original Arquintens
The Arquintens light cruiser it was 325 meters long
Moff Gideon's was a modified Arquintens command cruiser, 381 meters, plus extra weapons and a hangar

these 9 minutes of clone wars battle is better than the entire rebels space battles combined
Aww who’s an edgy boy you’re so cool look at you with your cool take aww

And the disney star wars as well.
Rebel Assault is tight
Only thing good about Rebels is Ahsoka.
The Atat drop is my favorite scene.
*AT-TE
you mean AT-TE?

I always love the fact that both the providence and the recusant have a dreadnought version
This is really cool. Just saw the footage from Season 1 and now I have to try to watch it all. Really well done.
🖖😎👍Very cool and just as greatly done as the first one indeed 👌.
Its a damn shame the empire chose to decommission the at-te because it was still quite usefull
These battle scenes from Star Wars The Clone Wars are very good 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍

tanks on the ship :)
So so good
2:29 three cruisers arrive with those weird smaller ships
These battles confuse me as one republic can destroy mutiply ships but other times get destroyed badly
It all comes to strategy and luck.

they got an engine on separatist ship
Who would win?
Admiral Trench vs Admiral Thrawn
Thrawn
Wow
Still looks terrific. Except the Venators still look like Jar Jar's head, and I can't take them seriously. But otherwise, terrific stuff.
In the scene when the AT-TE are released how does that work without gravity ?
well they are release in a downward trajectory so they continue to move straight down till they were pulled down straight into the ships gravity.
How can you downgrade from this to the rebel space battles?
Rebels never really had the fire-power to compete with the ISD untilthe battle of endor. While here, both sides have fairly even fire-power
