Jodi, First off, glad you mentioned that the NX is made in Canada. Why does Lexus recommend Premium fuel for the 240 hp 2.5 Hybrid system in this NX when the 2.5 Hybrid system in the Highlander and Sienna generate 245 hp with Regular? What weird and wonderful process is at play in the combustion chambers when higher octane fuel generates less hp? 🤔

to test it out, I've filled up 3 full tanks of regular gas and don't feel that much differences so far.

Nice review! The unusual door handles are designed that way for the purposes of the bicycle / passing traffic protection system - the electronic doors won't activate if there's a risk of hitting a passion car or bike.

Would be great if youtubers spent 5 minutes researching this design before immediately trashing it.

Yup. A lot of moms are just not aware of oncoming traffic and cyclers. Good move by Lexus.

I see this same tech in other cars with regular door handles too, so I'm still a bit puzzled with the design! -Jodi

@@autotrader_ca well think about it for a moment. If your door is automatically locked for safety reasons, would you want someone to pull and tug on a traditional handle? Or does this design make more sense with that feature?

    @ronnardkoay570 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Lol.. perhaps do a little research to understand why they designed the car with that handle. Lexus explained it well enough and the design makes sense.

The e-latch is a safety feature that works in conjunction with the blind spot monitor

The new design has transformed the NX to be among the best looking in the segment and Lexus reliability, quality and reputation are unbeatable. I love the way NX offers different engines for driver’s desire. I definitely go with the NX450h

good like finding a PHEV.....maybe if you are willing to wait for a year or two for delivery. The 450h+ and Rav 4 Prime only exist on paper......plus add 15 or 20 grand above suggested retail when you order

Lexus built boring car , reliability due to using old tech engine not most sophisticated fuel efficient powerful engine .
      So what Lexus is reliable?
Lexus is not built for robustness, toughness and durability usage .
Reliability is just dependable only ,nothing much to shout about
Jodi review is absolutely right about Lexus car .
To every owner's if premium car , Lexus is not the brand to buy if they wanted prestige, performance , good handling ,advance safety , ride comfort at high speed.
Lexus is just another high end Toyota meaning very very boring car to buy .

Perhaps, if you don't understand the tech of the car you're reviewing you should either do your homework or not review it. The door handles are that way as part of the safety tech. Read up on it. It's cool! :)

Hi! I'm well aware of their purpose and did lots of research for this video, but other automakers have similar safety features (safe exit assist) without needing to reinvent the humble door handle. -Jodi

Watched tons reviews on 2022 Lexus 350h but Jodi is the first one mentioning the car is on fwd most of the time and E-awd kicks in when needed. I've been with the car over 2000km now and quite satisfied tbh. it's just getting better.

First time I've ever heard e-awd described as an asset as oppose to talking about how severely limited it is compare to a real awd system. I've never seen such an average/underwhelming "luxury" offering as the new NX. You can do better.
