I'm not a DJ but I am writing a story about one, so this goes partly over my head but answers all my questions regarding what my character thinks of the device and how they'll be using it, so thanks for this review. :3
Was waiting to get this and finally I was able to order it. Now I should learn the new Virtual Dj 8 because I was using the old one. Seems they added some stuff. Also I like the design of this controller. Do you know if I can always use the forward backward and scratch features from the jogs but without touch scratch and instead use the sides? Yeah, DJUCED is proprietary to the Hercules line of products as it is a Hercules software. What I heard about Hercules is that they can have their controllers work on other softwares other than DJUCED as well.
VDJ8 lets you do more stuff (video DJing, karaoke, ContentUnlimited streaming) and DJUCED is more straigtforward, though it does have a few tricks up its own sleeve :)
Is it true that in the Hercules Inpulse 300 you cannot cue listen on the headphones to both decks at the same time, just one deck at the time or only to master?
@@digitaldjtips There is a reviewer that says (that's why I'm asking) that you cannot listen to the mix (deck+master) like you do on the pioneer's controllers.
Some controllers let you do that, yes - they have a "layer" button to use two "decks" per side of the mixer. However, you do need four channels on the mixer usually. It's not possible on this model.
Got it this week, absolutely love it! Having a minor issue with cueing tracks/setting cue points. I only seem to be able to set cue points where the white lines are displayed on Djuced (the markers that show each bar). On some tracks I need to set the cue point in the middle of two bars/white lines - it automatically sets it to the bar before or after where I want it to go, aligning it with the white lines/markers. Seems like a software problem, the controller is incredible! Did you have the same problem? Would be a shame to have to pay for VDJ again without giving Djuced a chance as it seems great! Didn’t have this problem with my MK4 (had it for 8 years and still going strong)! The Inpulse 300 is one hell of a controller once I can hopefully fix this issue!
Is there maybe something in the settings that makes cue points snap to the grid? Best thing to do is shoot Hercules a quick email I'm sure they'd love to help you get it sorted :)

The Shift + Q button(s) pressed together will also allows you to set cue points wherever you choose. The information will be saved for each of your tracks so even if you turn your unit off and back on again it will remember. I was having this issue as well and could not figure out why my mixes were out of sync. In the odd case some of my tracks were not automatically set for the first down beat of the bar, I manually moved to the first beat of the bar and hit shift+Q problem solved.
In theory yes, in practice most big events have their own gear or by the time you get that stage you've already upgraded anyway. This is entry level gear which fantastic for getting started on and playing a few gigs.

Choose your software first. If you want to use Serato, it'd have to be the SB3.

You can listen to the decks and the Master just by pressing the Cue buttons on the controller :)
