Thanks Capt. I tried it your way for a bit, then I made them a bit differently. I make em 3" long ID with 3/8 bit then for the cap I use 1/2" Works great.

Capt Eddie. How on earth do you create a soft touch? I have a live center but I don't believe it unscrews like yours does.

Both oneway and jet both make a version with 3/4-10 threads. Others can be attached with a little work and double stick tape, I'll see if I can work on that for you.

Good idea, Eddie. Bob Hamilton (bobham5) has a series of videos on making a sewing kit. It's a similar idea, but a little more intricate, and definitely not as quick to make. I think I can do your needle box but I'm not sure about the sewing kit. I tried to post a link here but it won't let me do it.
