Thumbnail 10/10! And I had some cake myself just seconds ago! Soooo, FATE~
    0:00 The cake isn't a lie! It's delicious
    0:27 Hi Andrew! | *< please subscribe >*
0:38 "We Are Not Alone" | What a shirt!
    0:52 *Vertical Slice* = a taste of all your game's ingredients~
1:20 More cake! | Apt metaphor indeed
    1:59 QN) What *ISN'T* a vertical slice?
2:29 QN) Why make a vertical slice?
2:48 Personal reasons; publishers & funding
    3:15 Demo for Kickstarter! | way cool~
    3:41 Plus? Material for marketing!!!
4:00 Feeds back to game's presence
4:23 QN) Don't need funding? Still great for gathering feedback
5:00 You love your product; but do the audience!?
    5:45 DON'T develop your game in level-order!
    6:08 Start with the midpoint~
    6:22 Level 1 = Tutorial...
    6:40 Vertical slice example
    6:51 ** | Demo release notice!
7:08 But find ways to explain the mechanics~
    7:30 Early feedback > Fine-tune | NOT drastic changes
    7:47 QN) When isn't a demo suitable? *< Comment below >*
    8:12 QN) What are wishlists?
8:33 *Add "We Are Not Alone" to your wishlist* | You know ya WANA~
    8:59 10,000 = sweet spot
9:20 Got an opinion on vertical slices? | *< Comment below >*
9:30 Got a project, demo or vertical slice | *< Share in the comments OR on Twitter >*
    9:46 CAT!!!
All that cake talk really made me... mmm, what's the word- buttered me up!
I can't relate as much with the devlog, but that said, I learnt a couple of neat things! So bravo ol' chap!!
As for the opinion on vertical slices. I think what you're doing with starting at the mid-point is genius!
(So long as you make it very clear that it is what/where the players are at now. Thereby not misleading them)
A lot of devs do the tutorial and then cut off when something cool is bout to happen XD
However, I remember feeling particularly betrayed that a game did a sneaky "tutorial > midpoint" jump which gave off such false expectations... :' (
Topnotch work, keep with the content, and good day~

Oh, I thought that a vertical slice is something like a document with everything about your game. But actually it's like a prototype but a bit better.

      @stasisboothgames  ปีที่แล้ว

Yep, a more polished prototype and very beneficial in some cases :) thanks for watching!
