    Thanks for this. Liked and subbed. Very straight-forward, this was exactly the introduction to OctoPrint that I was looking for. I have a modded Ender 3 Pro with a knock-off Bl-touch for bed leveling, and older Marlin firmware. Cura is set up with custom settings for the auto-bed-leveling. I wasn't sure Octoprint would include the custom start/bed-leveling gcode, glad I watched this video. Cheers!

    Exactly what I was looking for! Easy to follow tutorial that got me up and running before the end of it. Using the same Raspi3A+ with a cheap MicroCenter 16gb MicroSD it was easy to get running, if you run into problems like I did with the printer not connecting or not finding a serial port, make sure your Micro USB cable to connect the Pi to the Printer is a data transfer cable and not just a charging cable. I went through a few cables I had laying around before I found one that work. 73! Kevin

    Great info in this video! Thank you!!! Your instruction is very clear. Looking forward to my first 3D Printer! The OCTOPI build on the Pi Zero 2 W took me about five minutes. It was remarkable and needed no setting up.
    BUT if you want VNC and all the other Raspberry pi GUI based interface in addition to Octoprint - go the 'install octoprint onto an existing Raspberry pi' route, not the all-in-one octopi build method. My RPI won't support the standard 'startx' GUI because octopi is a subset of the standard Raspbian.

      Hi, thanks for your patience with my delay. When you say get octoprint to send a signal to a connected raspberry pi or arduino, I am a bit confused. The reasoning is, octoprint is on the pi and records all the commands. If you can tell me what you are attempting to accomplish, I may be able to help. Thanks so much :)

    I have a creality cr10V3 would this work for that, I also have multiple machines like 16! I've been manually using cards for a while and have now burnt my self out doing so!!!!! When attaching the RPi to every machine how would this then turn up in octoprint out of curiosity and do you believe this would be fairly simple to setup? Thankyou

    • @HAMRADIODUDE
      @HAMRADIODUDE  19 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Hello,
      The Creality CR10 is compatible with Octoprint. While you can connect multiple printers to a single Octoprint instance, managing more than three or four is not advisable. If the Raspberry Pi running Octoprint encounters an issue, you could potentially disrupt multiple prints simultaneously. A more reliable setup would involve using separate Raspberry Pis for each printer, with each Pi running its own instance of Octoprint, complete with a unique IP address and interface. This arrangement simplifies management; for instance, you can name each Pi after the printer it controls (e.g., CR10_One, CR10_Two, etc.). To access a specific printer, you simply navigate to its designated address, like CR10_Two.local, in your web browser.
      Some might recommend the SonicPad; however, I'm not very familiar with it as I haven't used it much recently.
      I hope this information is helpful to you. Cheers!

      I have a Raspberry pi 4! Thanks for reaching out, I just now finished getting the fix in. So apparently, I had to manually adjust the files in the “boot” file of the sd card. Then I had to direct connect to the Pi via Ethernet. Then I could SSH into the card, where I run command line to force the raspberry pi to utilize the document in the boot settings to run the Wi-Fi. 😂 you have no idea how many forum posts I had to go through to find that random one that helped me out.
