Case International 235 Hydro diesel tractor is a no-go. Tractor isn't moving- why not?

- If anyone is familiar with these tractors or has had a similar problem please let me know about it in the comments. I use this thing pretty close to daily moving things around and keeping everything mowed and this has me stuck!
You are best changing gear with the revs lower, put into gear when idling then move off with some throttle
ik heb het via het gat hersteld. Pin is gebroken. pin eruit halen met magneet. draai verbinding los van as.
as naar buiten halen. met haak los gekomen stuk eruit halen. nieuwe pin op lassen. onderkant slijpen tot je het weer voor de as kan brengen. As koppelen en weer vastdraaien. Pin breekt af door geen goede vergredeling waardoor deze in vrijstand schiet.

Yep sold it, funny part is I fully disclosed the issues but the day he showed up it drove up on his trailer no problem.
Hi, saw your tractor, have the same. Great workhorse until now. My problem I believe is yours. Started with a little trouble with hi/lo/ neutral, then no movement at all. After much investigation the culprit is the actuator pin attached to the hi/lo gear lever inside the gear box. After removing the lower pan, which unfortunately does not give you access to the gears it’s the reservoir, I stuck my finger in the hole and with a magnet removed the 1/4” thick pin that use to be attached to the bottom of the lever. This pin about 1 1/2” long would have move the gears into hi, lo, or neutral. It had some scars from abuse and was sheared at on end. Sadly this will mean pulling the tractor apart to fix it. It even looks like I,d have to disassemble the gears to get at the actuator lever. Hope , this helps, not happy about it but at least I know what the problem is.
I ended up selling this tractor to a more eager fellow. I fully disclosed the issues but the day he showed up, it started up and drove into his trailer, which made him happy but I found frustrating. I have a newer John Deere about the same size I haven’t done much with as far as videos other than make some attachments for.
Hi, my tractor (International 234 Hydro) is doing the same thing, except the pto will not engage as well. Changed the hytrans fluid and cleaned the strainer (was not dirty). It didn't help. Would the pin issue also cause the pto not to engage? The 3pt lift stil operates. Thanks

Hi, probably to late to be of interest, but I have one of these and with rough handling there is a pin in the gear box that shears off. They don’t make it anymore. 😢 It’s a odd shaped pin to boot so odds of fabricating one is slim. I don’t let anyone use it now but me..
Yeah, the problem with this tractor is I bought it for like $1200 in rough shape. I fixed it up enough to use it, but I couldn’t justify splitting it to find and repair an unknown issue when I was able to sell it for $2000 or so even with the issue. Wouldn’t you know it, I fully disclosed the issue but the guy started it up and drove it onto his trailer when he got there. He said he was planning on splitting it as a winter project.

What rear wheels and tires are those? Holly crap those are wide.
They actually came on that unit and it’s been gone long enough that I don’t recall the size. Clearly weren’t stock! They had pretty good traction for a 2wd. I replaced this with a 4wd and it’s obviously a completely different story.
My 234 back tires are like 35-15.50/15
Did you figure out what was wrong with the drive?
I am fairly certain it was a bent shift fork. Unfortunately would have required splitting the tractor to further diagnose and repair and I was offered only a couple hundred less than I paid for it and sold it. Would have been a lot of work but would have been good content. at the rate I'm going would have finished in 2022
I have the same tractor and had to have it spilt, the weld had broken on the hi low shift lever, Rewelded it, works like a new one Good tractor but like anything, cannot be abused!
