If you do teaching your kid the time by Dave Allen, you might like "What time is it Eccles" by Spike Milligan which is a short clip from a radio show called the Goons back in the 1960's
Thanks for the video.❤ I'm 75 and lived abroad for 17 years and only just returned a few months ago. I always liked him as a stand up comedienne and he still makes me laugh even today. We need more laughter in this world.
The two Ronnies are British comedy gold, four candles is one of the funniest sketches ever, open all hours with Ronnie Barker, only fools and horses, Al Murray as the pub landlord, so many great comedians.
Dave Allen ... *Definitely* these to watch: 'Adam & Eve' 'The Nun outside the Pub' 'Teaching Telling the Time to his child'. 'Going to School the First time'. 'Going to his Uncle's Funeral - (the '_misheard_' blessing)' 'Teen-ager's incoherent language' 'Telling a Ghost Story' (not seen often enough) (short film 'skit') 'The Double Funeral Processions' - (sooo funny!!)❤😊😅😂 ...too many 'skits' & episodes to list!!
Dave Allen was one of the best stand up comedians in the UK, in his early days his TV shows would include sketches, The Irish have always been funny, I live in the USA, some Americans have a view that the Irish and English do not get along, Nothing could be further from the Truth. Look at his old shows on you tube, I recently did, lets not forget his famous finger.
Dave Allen also did lots of sketches on his TV show. if you look at his right hand, he has half a finger missing. when ever he was asked about it, he always gave a different answer.
Billy Connolly is a must see - "don't drink the water in ibiza" "Dwarf on a bus" "Colonoscapy" "Terrorist attack in Glasgow Airport " Too many great ones to mention.
And Creme De Menth in Rome Tell Laura I Love Her Billy is another comedy genius! So many young comedians say that Billy was their icon who set them on the path.
I love Lindsay’s reaction. Definitely try Dave Allen “Teaching your kid the time” Or “Adam and Eve” Or “Religion” No matter how many times I see this it still makes me giggle 😂
My late wife & I saw Dave Allen live on stage at a nightclub in Sheffield in the 1970s. I think he was on for about 2.5 hours & by the end all our faces were aching from laughing, the best show we ever saw. The man was a comic genius with all his different stories, how to tell time to kids & so, so much more. Very sadly missed.
Dave Allen was performing this style of comedy at a time when most British and Irish comedians were gag merchants, telling mother-in-law jokes and that sort of stuff. That may be why a lot of women from my experience found him hilarious. He was ahead of his time.
Dave Allen was one of the funniest comedians the UK ever had. I’m so glad his talents have been having a bit of a revival with a younger more international audience. When I was a child, staying up to watch Dave Allen was a real highlight of the week. Good old innocent slightly cheeky viewing. Much love guys.🇬🇧💞
I recommend two of Dave's pieces of work for review: his stand up concerning teaching a child to tell the time and short funeral film called something like funeral/coffin race.
so pleased you are watching this, you need to watch all of his stuff, especially teaching the kid time, Dave was amazing. Tommy Cooper is a good watch.
I strongly suggest clips from the UK comedy panel show 'Would I lie to you', particularly where either Bob Mortimer or James Acaster are guests. You'll absolutely love them!
Peter Kay is also very funny . He is from Bolton . Northern accents are quite strong. I'm from Manchester . But definitely worth a look. He is very popular.
Dave Allen was a GENIUS. I remember my dad didn't like him, we had to make sure he was upstairs when Dave Allen was on, but we all LOVED HIM! My sides still hurt from laughing so hard..
Dave Allen was a great comedian, we watched all his TV series on BBC. My parents saw him live at a London Night Club and he was hilarious, handling hecklers in a humourous way. He walked around the tables and helped himself to a drink of whisky off my parent's table and my mum bought him a drink. He stayed to talk to them later because of that. Dave Allen even on his TV shows had whisky and cigarettes at his side. His shows were on the BBC and if available are a wonderful watch. A mix of standup and sketches. As a southern Irish man, he was the first to mock the church and life. Heart warming to hear Linsay laughing so much. I think she definitely has a lot of British genes. ❤❤❤👵❤️🌹🌹🌹
Dace Allen is one of our comedic legends - no doubt about it - always adding a common sense element to things that are naturally ludicrous. His digs at religion - particularly those where he has a dig at the Irish Catholic Church. His religious rants he is particularly known for and was an atheist in life - also he lived not far from where we live in North Devon on the western edge of Exmoor.
Grew up watching Dave Allen as a kid. Had the pleasure of watching him live in the early 90's. I would recommend watching Dave Allen talking about Adam and Eve or on him teaching a child to tell the time, both are hilarious.
Dave Allen was/is the goat when it comes to comedy. The man could make any subject seem funny. One funny thing though, he never really told the truth about how he lost his finger... I've heard a few versions of the tale over the years.
One comedy legend. Dave Allen is still missed. I’m just back from watching Jake O’Kane live on stage at the Ulster Hall Belfast. OMG my jaws are sore with laughing. Ulster humour at its best.
I saw him live in the 90s. His TV shows were a must-watch. My dad loved him. His shows were controversial in his home country of Ireland and he wasn't particularly liked either in Northern Ireland or the Republic of Ireland as he tended to upset everyone. He was popular in England/Great Britain and Australia. He was also one of Adam Sandler's first comic influences.
He was more or less banned in the republic of ireland RTE wouldn't show him and many people in the 70s and 80s only had RTE no british channels at all so they couldn't see him at all.I don't know what was like in the north but i imagine it was just catholics who took offence who were a minority then
My dad used to be rolling in his chair with laughter. I remember the last part where Dave was always sat in a big chair smoking.! Please react to Life Of Brian.
Dave Allen’s skit about Telling The Time is hilarious if you haven’t shown this one before. But it’s a shame that most US kids don’t know how to tell the time on an analogue clock now ☹️☹️☹️☹️☹️
Dave Allen was massive in the 1960s, 1970s,1980s he was a staple in everyone's home I watched him with my parents, his stand up is still as funny today as back then, he was brought up in Ireland as a strict Catholic but he does comedy sketches about the church also. Other comedians that are legends are Billy Conally, Jasper Carrott, Peter Kay etc, will have you laughing out loud - there is no bad sketch
I've always found Dave Allen hilarious and there are 4 other stand up comedians who can make me laugh as much, Billy Connelly, Michael Mcintyre, Lee Evans and Rhod Gilbert.
His Religious Jokes were awesome.. Especially because of his IRISH ROOTS And he's was a pleasure to listen to. Memories of the days when comedians could make you laugh, without having to use swear words and obscenities.
I have seen a few other people recommend this so adding to their suggestions but Dave Allen talking about teaching kids to tell the time is hilarious, one of my favourite Dave Allen performances.
How am I 40 years old and never heard of this cmdeian until now! he's good! I laugh and cough because I have a horrid cough and feel like crap, but at least I laughed! Thanks for the reaction!
So many happy memories of watching Dave Allen as a child with my late Mum....Also used to howl with laughter at Jasper Carrot...miss you Mum, see you soon xx
I remember when he would have a regular show on the BBC during my childhood, up until the '80's. My husband went to see him live, and said he never laughed so long and so hard in his life- it hurt him to breathe! His BBC shows were somewhat toned down in terms of language and themes compared to his live shows.
British comedy reactions? Yes please. Try some panel shows, that's where I think the Brits have nailed it. Shows like Would I Lie To You, 8 Out Of 10 Cats Does Countdown, Mock The Week, Shooting Stars, Nevermind The Buzzcocks, Taskmaster and so on
I had the good fortune to see Dave Allen live some forty years ago. The atmosphere in the theatre was awesome. He was very very funny and had the audience in tears of laughter. A very fond memory.
If you like comedy, you ought to check out Al Murray, Michael Mcintyre and Lee Evans. Although Lee Evans language can be a bit strong sometimes, he is very funny. Al Murray versus Americans is a good one.
Dave was a staple on British TV for many years - a wonderful comedian. His monologues on teaching children to tell the time and on the Garden of Eden are hilarious.

I am 72 and I totally agree with you and your Father. His humour always brought tears to my eyes with laughter. I still love listening to him.
Same, I'm a young pup, at 55 but my dad loved him, laughing away at him. ❤ He's still so relevant
Teaching his son the time...u've got to watch next

Thanks for the video.❤ I'm 75 and lived abroad for 17 years and only just returned a few months ago. I always liked him as a stand up comedienne and he still makes me laugh even today. We need more laughter in this world.

I remember regularly watching him on BBC and crying with laughter. Try his "religious" videos. I still love Dave Allen, even after all these years.
What a legend Dave Allen is. He really was a ground-breaking comedian, at a time when there was a lot of competition.
The fabulous Dave Allen........ great childhood memories of laughing watching his shows......... still missed!
Young? He may have died unexpectedly, but he was 68!

Dave Allen is amazing, you need to find the stand up routine of him learning to telling his child the time. Genuinely hysterical
Goodnight, thank you, and may your God go with you.

It was his left hand which had half a finger missing.
A wonderfully warm-hearted, incisive and intelligent, witty man was Dave Allen.
Billy Connolly is a must see - "don't drink the water in ibiza"

Dave Allen - "Teaching Your Kid Time" is a must watch along with Dave Allen's funniest ever TV sketch about two rival Funerals. Both are brilliant.

He was born a Catholic
Dave Allen - I could say so much about him but I'll keep it simple. Best ever stand up comedian, and his sketches (skits) are genius!
